Question - What type of vehicle can I expect with a standard through priceline? Here is what I got through priceline: April 22-27; 16.00/day; Avis; STANDARD. Thanks much!
Hi! We want to check out a 10:00 p.m. Blue Man Group show on October 23, 2004 - we arrive in NYC that morning at about 11:00 and our prospective hotel is very close to the TKTS booth..... So - how does this work? Will we most likely be able to get discounted tickets for the show? Thanks! :)
Hmmm......I am thinking about booking a back-up room at the Travel Inn (part of the Empire Hotel groups), however, a small problem......through the Empire Hotels website, there are rooms available. Nothing available through other internet options and when I tried to call the hotel to book 2 rooms, I was told that the hotel was booked and treated VERY rudely...when I explained that there were rooms available through the internet, the man was very rude (I guess to be expected) and I was told to "follow the system." What? Should I be concerned that I won't have a room when I get there? That would be awful. Thanks! :)
Hi all - I would like to expand my search preference (MTE, MTW, UMCPS) to include MTS. Now - it seems that there are more 2 stars in that location......how are most of the priceline hotels in terms of catching the subway or within walking distance to all that the MTS hotels have to offer???? :) :)
Hi everyone - You are all so helpful, I was hoping you could recommend a great club scene for myself, my husband and two others. Everyone loves to dance, but --- we are 26 year-olds....we can stay up late, but not too late, drink a lot, but not too much...... Any recommendations? We will end up staying in the Midtown area no matter what (right now I have backup reservations at the La Quinta Manhattan) - we heard that there are some great clubs in the SOHO area....... Suggestions??? Thanks! :)
I am going to try my priceline bidding again next week, however, would love some general information from you New Yorkers. Say I stay in Midtown South or somewhere farther (Financial District - I have always heard is a lot cheaper). A couple questions: What sort of problems is this going to create for transportation? We are planning on using the subway and will stay away from cabs. Do they shut down at a certain time?? Are they hard to figure out? How about problems with staying in a nasty area? Anything that I should be overly concerned about? Help. We REALLY don't want to pay more than 150 per night for a hotel. I have heard horror stories about bed bugs and nasty stuff like that on some of the lower quality hotels!
Well, no such luck. Would you recommend my trying the same process using a 2.5 star? How different is this from a three? I know this way I don't have any rebid options though..... Or should I wait 72 hours, up the max price to about 150 and try again?
I think that I understand, but I just don't want to mess it up somehow. Could you propose a bidding strategy at 130 maximum for 4 and 3 star?? (got the answers to your quiz - 1. UES, UWS 2. UWS)
I think that I am starting to understand it.... but I noticed all these 4* for 120 bucks! Hilton? That sounds good. I would like to try 4* too! Again - you are so helpfuL!!!
Oops! I think that we would like to try to bid around 120 max (crossing fingers) because the taxes will bring it up quite a bit. We need two rooms.....
Ok - MTE = 1,2,2.5,3,4,5* MTW = 1,2,2.5,3,4 UMCPS = 1,2,3,4 I think that is the order I would like to bid - we are looking at a 3* (worried about a 2.5* having a shared bathroom). You are sooooo helpful! Thanks so much~
Hi! I have bid on priceline quite a bit, but I really really don't understand this "rebid" process.....could someone guide me through this??? Never been to NYC - we were told that Midtown West would be the best area - then Upper Midtown/Central Park South and finally Midtown East. We are hoping to stay at a 3* and need two rooms! Thanks so much - - -
