  2. hi, just an update, i did try bidding again that night and i think my bid of $67 was accepted for 1* i called priceline and they said that the hotel room was not booked.. i am thinking of just booking directly through some motel.. Thanks ..
  3. thanks for your response, i am going to try bidding some more tonight.. Queens burry is too far from where i want to stay.. The max i will bid is $75, if that gets rejected i will just book directly with some motel that have 2 room efficiency suites.. (works out cheaper and is ore convenient) Will update tomorrow AM
  4. i really dont have a * preference, just need something decent near the lake.. I did a regular search in priceline and i noticed that all the 1* & 2* were closer to the lake. Last night i tried the following Bids for the lake geroge area and all were rejected: 45 2.5* up 50 2* up 55 1* up ============= 60 2* up ===> here i got an offer to increase my bid to 77 . I just added the Warrensburg zone that has only 1* hotels and increased my bid to $65 which was also rejected. I will try again tonight, but was wondering what the 2.5* hotel listed in Hotwire for $68 was.. PS: we are a group of 5 adults and 2 children (both 2 year old)
  5. hi, looking for 2 rooms HOTWIRE gave the following 2 results: Check in - May 26 Check out - May 28 1) 2* - Glens Falls - Lake George area hotel $68 Free Parking, Complimentary Breakfast, Free Internet, High-Speed Internet Access (Also says $119 other sites) 2) 2.5* - Glens Falls - Lake George area hotel $93 Free Parking, Free Internet, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), High-Speed Internet Access (Also says $149 Other sites) -- could this be the Tiki Resort? Also considering Priceline.. am going to start bidding now.. will let you know the results. I am specifically looking for hotels near the lake ..
  6. thanks for the responses.. i guess i will just buy directly through hertz then..

  10. yes, looking for 2 rooms.. dont want to spend too much on hotel rooms. Just gave a shot at bidding and initial bid of 50 & 60 were rejected (zones selected were seaworld & Universal zones). Will update with winning bids..
  11. hi taliategan, appreciate your response.. will look at the bid history for those zones and try bidding.. i also googled orlando vacations and i came accross some sites (not sure if i can mention site here) that were offering condos / resorts (2 bedroom villas) for $149 for 3nights (for all nights total..) and also offering 2 free tickets to any theme parks.. They have even mentioned which resort and pictures etc and it looks really nice..the deal seems too good to be true.. i wonder if this is some sort of scam?
  12. Hi, i am planning a trip for 4 adults and 2 babies (9 months old) to Orlando in december (4-7). I have bever been to Orlando before and was looking to start priceline bidding for the rooms. But there are so many zones, i am not sure which zone i should be focusing on. As of now we only plan to visit Universal Studio for a day or two as 2 of the adults (my parents) in our party are seniors (age 75) and would not be able to walk around too much or enjoy roller coasters. And the remaining two adults (my husband and i) would be attending to the babies. Which is why we are planing to look at Universal studios slowly over a 2 day period. Can some one advice what would be the ideal zone(s) to bid on? Also any other suggestions on what other activities we could do or places to see while at orlando would be really appreciated. Also looking at ways to get theme park tickets and airline tickets cheap.
  13. Thanks for the suggestion, will definately try out that place.. LOVE THIS SITE!!!
  14. Decided to use PRICELINE bidding and won the following: Sheraton Atlantic City Hotel 2 rooms $135/nite 10/09 - 10/10
  15. Hi, really appreciate your response... There is no specific purpose, just wanted to see the place. since we are with 7 month old kids (twins) we wont even be gambling, we would just walk around and look at all the themes etc. We could have done a day trip, but thought it would be less stressful if we stayed a night so that we could break from time to time for the feeding etc. We have a 2.5 hour drive time to atlantic city, and mostly want to see the city at night with all the lights etc. I know Atlantic city is not the best(or even maybe recommended) option with kids, but this trip is mostly to show my parents who are visiting for the first time.. I guess i would have to re-consider the location (or try new dates) since i dont want to go to high on the price. Do you know what hotel that 2* hotel would be?
  16. hi, looking for accomodations for atlantic city area for 1 night (10/09) 2 rooms, 4 adults 2 children: HOTWIRE gave the following result, can you help me figure out which hotel this is: Downtown Atlantic City area Hotel Star: 2 Price: $73/nite Hotel amenities : Complimentary Breakfast; Pool(s) Is this a good deal? Should i book this?
  17. maybe i am doing something wrong..? i have never had a sucessfull bid on priceline
  18. SOrry for the late response, but this trip never materialized for me due to personal reasons..
  19. Hi folks, i am new to PRICELINE bidding system, but this site helped me a lot to understand about the rebid zones and historical bids. Would really appreciate any advice you can give me: Following are my trip parameters: Location: Atlantic City Date: 10/09 OR 10/16 (for one night) # of rooms: 2 Zone: 2- Atlantic City Area Star: 2.5 or above Looking at the historic bids i started with low bids of $60 on 4 star and went up to $110 - All rejected. Next went down to 3.5* upto 100 - All rejected 2.5 * upto 100 all rejected 2* upto $95 - all rejected. now i get the feeling they have flagged me and are rejecting my bids. this isnt even the peak season. i dont want to go above $100 per nite, any advice would be apreciated.. THanks
  20. You got a great deal! i am trying for the exact same dates and tried 3* onwards, but getting rejected even at $95. I even went as high as $110 for 4* with no luck :)
