  1. This was a great hotel for the price we paid and the location couldn't be beat-right off 271 and close to I-480. Good food in lounge and very friendly staff. Lots of restaurants within a short distance. Will definitely be pleased if we gt this hotel again in future!
  2. Priceline accepted my intial bid of $35 Normally stay downtown, however, don't like paying for parking. Happy with win-best rate online was $139 AS always, used your PRICELINE link
  3. After looking through the forum, bid $39 for 3.5 * (using the bb PRICELINE link) downtown and got our favorite hotel, the Hyatt Regency Arcade on the first try with tax and service fees, $52.27 Very happy with our win!
  4. Sorry all-I bid for a 3 star and was upgraded to a 3.5 star (as noted on my confirmation email) and dates are 11/27 to 11/29/08...my fingers must have gotten away from me. Total for my stay (2 nights) came out $97.92... best price I could find on the hotel website was $112 for one night.
  5. Bid $30 for a 3* downtown; offer rejected. Bid $39 and got the Hyatt Regency Cleveland Arcade. I used your PRICELINE Link.

  9. I just returned from a quick trip to london this past weekend and wanted to report on my stay at Thistle Charing Cross. Without a doubt, it was one of the best hotel experiences I've had in 5 trips to London. Check-in was fast and efficient, and when I asked for a room with two beds (since I was traveling with my two children) I was put into room 606, which she said "might work for 3 people." Imagine our surprise when we opened the door to room 606 and it consisted of 2 twins and a huge double bed. I felt the room was exceedingly large compared to the others that I have stayed in on trips to london. The accomodations were top-notch; everything in the room felt new and very well cared for. There was some noticeable noise from the train station below, but as the trains tapered off in the evenings it never did really bother us or keep us awake, although a light sleeper might find it less than desirable. We rarely heard anyone else on our floor, so no problems with noise there either. The location of the hotel can't be beat for sightseeing, and one of the local hop-on hop-off buses parks right at the entrance to Charing Cross Station-literally steps from the hotel's front door. The only caution I can give fellow travellers is to double-check their receipt when they check out-I was being charged for my room again and when I questioned the charge the gentleman asked if I had prepaid with Priceline and removed those charges from my bill. had i not checked and questioned it i would have paid for the room again.
  10. Taking my 2 kids to London for the weekend... I bid $60 for 4* Mayfair/Soho area; offer was rejected. PL countered with $90; I accepted purely because I knew I wanted Mayfair/Soho and $90 was still within my "keep it under $100 a nite" rule I got Thistle Charing Cross, 3 - 6 Feb 2006 3 nights @ $90 for a total of $327.76 after taxes. Respectable.
  11. Bid $60 for 2 nights in Brussels accepted on first bid. Marriott Brussels Rue A. Orts 3-7 Grand Place Brussels, 1000 Sept 2 - Sept 4, 2005. As a side note, my travelling companions bid $60 for a Brussels 4* and got the Marriott Renaissance 5 minutes later!
  12. Just spent a night at thhe Renaissance. Bid $64 on priceline. We were very pleasantly suprised by how nice a hotel this is. Taxi fee was about 7E each way to Grand Place from the hotel. Only drawback was finding it initially, as there are many confusing one-way streets in Brussels. Kids loved the pool and hot tub. Would happily stay thhere again.
