  1. Bid $100 for 5* in Galleria. Lost. Bid $50 for 5* or 4* in Galleria. Lost. Bid $55 for 5* or 4* in Galleria by ADDING HUMBLE (no 4* in HUMBLE). Won. this is not my favorite hilton...but a great price. Thanks Better Bidding!
  2. Great Deal at Great Hotel! It was my first bid..should I have gone lower? The Priceline Dilemma.
  3. Bid $135...got the Grand Hyatt on the first try. Very surprised as it is a pre-holiday weekend. Guess I should have gone lower. Still an awesome rate!
  4. Bid $69....the "willing to pay more" feature popped up for $89. I opted-in and resubmitted and got the Hyatt Regency for $89. Have never stayed at this property. Looking forward to the quick trip to Denver. Thanks Better Bidding!
  5. Booked through Better Bidding PRICELINE link. First bid of $61 got me the room. Should have stated lower... Thanks Better Bidding!
  6. Finally...after working it a week...I found a great (ok..good from what I am reading on TripAdvisor) hotel for under $170. Used rebidding many times...but ended up at $169 for 3.5*...and just cancelled my Hilton NY reservation at $259...saving over $300 for the trip. Finally! Thanks Better Bidding!
  7. Just bid $84 and got it. Entered $79 and the warning about "based on data this is too low" so I upped it to $84. $5 dollar difference...but I've always wondered if that warning is legit or a marketing ploy. Booked via BetterBidding PRICELINE link...Thanks, guys!
  8. Held out as long as I could....Originally typed in $125 and got the pop-up warning bid probably too low. Checked hyatt.com and lowest rate was $339. Went back and typed in $130 with no pop-up....and got it first time! This is an awesome hotel in a central location. We've stayed in Times Square in several Christmases past...and are looking forward to being close by vs. in the midst of Times Square. Went through the Better Bidding PRICELINE link (as always) to bid and win! $200+ SAVINGS PER NIGHT!
  9. Great hotel. Great location. One of the best pizza places in the US is just up the hill at Bush and Stockton: UNCLE VITO's.
  10. Just booked through Better Bidding's HOTWIRE link. RESTAURANT POOL FITNESS HI-SPEED BUSINESS Sneaking away for a weekend with my wife. What a great deal! Thanks Better Bidding...used your hotel listing to improve the likelihood we'd get this hotel.
  11. Great Hotel. Got it for $66 on first bid. Much better than the Palmer House Hilton. Bid through the PRICELINE link above. Thanks Better Bidding.
  12. I just checked out this afternoon. A great location and the rooms have been redone nicely. Very comfortable beds....not heavenly, but close. Rooms are not very large...and they will give you no perks for Starwood Status. However, the woman that checked me in early on arrival was working today and she was very pleasant and helpful in me getting a high-floor room with a view... so when I needed a late checkout today, she helped me out again w/o charging me to do so. There are nicer hotels like the Grand Hyatt...but for close to Times Sq and 6th/Radio City, this hotel is awesome.
  13. Bid Priceline through Better Bidding. Bid was for Midtown West for 1 Night (M, 6/29) Opening bid $123 and got it without any other attempts. Was offered to extend my stay, which I did, for $123 for the second night (T, 6/30) My logic was this... NYC being a larger city, there are multiple possible hotels in each level/area, so it's harder to predict which hotel. I really wanted the Sheraton New York (not the Manhattan) and/or the Hilton. I did not want The Warwick...which was a recent winning 4*-MTW for 6/30-7/2. There were high odds I'd get the Sheraton, but I wanted to keep my options open. So, I bid first for the 1st night of my 2 night trip. That way, if I did not like the hotel awarded, I could always pursue another angle for the 2nd night...since I was willing to move. Don't know if Priceline always offers the "extend your stay" option...but it's worked for me several times recently. And, I saved over $270 on my hotel bill...more money for some real NY Pizza and cheesecake! Thanks, Better Bidding!
  14. $63/night. Through Better Bidding PRICELINE link. Bid $55 for 4* Midtown, added Buckhead and it was rejected. Added "Morrow" and upped bid to $63. Got it for same say arrival.
  15. Great rate...but candidly this is one of my least favorite hotels in Dallas. Based on other offers, I was hoping for the Melrose...which is a realy cool independent hotel near downtown. Hey...it's still a great rate. Used PRICELINE link above.
  16. I have been trying to get anything 4* under $200 for several days now. I tried $142 first, no luck. Bumped to $152 by adding Lincoln Park using the Rebidding Strategy discussed here. I got it. Considering taxes, saving $300 vs. typical spend for a nice hotel in Chicago during the annual Restaurant Show. Go Better Bidding! and yes, I booked through the PRICELINE link above.
  17. Booked this through the Better Bidding PRICELINE link...
  18. Great deal at very nice DFW Airport. Rack Rate on Wed= $159.00 Best 4* on Hotwire was $76.00
  19. Holiday Inn- Dayton, OH (NORTH) $48.00 4/14-4/15 FITNESS POOL BUS CENTER LAUNDRY HIGH SPEED INTERNET
  20. It's not Chicago-style...but it's still mighty fine. Definitely worth the walk up Powell. Goes down even better with an Anchor Steam.
  21. WESTIN ST FRANCIS (awesome location. great hotel) Fitness Center, Restaurant, Business Center, Hi-Speed Internet, SPA $94.00 3/30- 3/31 And yes, I used the HOTWIRE link at the top left of this page. THANKS, BETTER BIDDING! (and if you stay at the Westin and are looking for some of the best pizza around, head-up Powell 2 blocks to Bush and eat at UNCLE VITO's....tell them Ed sent ya)
