  1. Finally pulled the trigger on the reservation and the hotel turned out to be the Museum 21c Hotel. While both the Brown and the 21c can have identical amenities, perhaps the tell-tale sign to look for is that one hotel is listed thus "Recommended in 90 % of Hotwire customer reviews" While the other is listed as "Recommended in 100 % of Hotwire customer reviews" I went with the 100 % reviewed hotel and got the 21c Something to think about when you are bidding and looking to lock in the 21c. Itinerary: Check in: August 1, 2010 Check out: August 3, 2010 $106 a night - might sound like a lot but for this hotel, it is a mega-bargain!
  2. Omni River Place $55 per night x 4 nights. Checked in: July 24, 2009 Checked out: July 28, 2009 Other than the architecture and the riverfront, there is very little positive that I could say about the Omni. The shuttle was consistently late. The valets were rude and/or poorly trained. The room was stuffy and poorly appointed. For the same price, when you add in the money spent on valet parking, you could stay at a much nicer hotel in Southfield. You can read my review of the Westin Southfield At $55 per night for the Westin, it is the smarter play and it is often available here using PRICELINE and bid on a 4* Deluxe hotel in Southfield.
  3. Priced at $106 x2 nights for a total of $212 Amenities: Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby No more amenities listed. I really want to book at the 21c and I know there is no absolute way of knowing, but what do you think? I've searched through the archives on your forum but don't see a pattern. I'd appreciate any help - and of course, I will use the HOTWIRE links (that goes without saying...) Thanks.
  4. Using the Betterbidding PRICELINE link, bid $55 and was accepted for a two night stay at the Westin Southfield. I have stayed there before so I know this is a good deal. $55.00 for room $23.20 taxes and fees $133.20 is the grand total and... I am happy Thanks again for the great board.
  5. Originally bid $45 for a room for Saturday during Memorial Day Weekend . Bid rejected. Upped the bid to $50, bid accepted. Very nice hotel with both indoor and outdoor swimming pools and easy access to downtown Milwaukee. Cost: $50.00 (USD) Room $14.65 (USD) Taxes $64.65 (USD) Total Four Points By Sheraton Milwaukee North 8900 North Kildeer Court Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53209 United States 414-355-8585 Check-In Date: Saturday, May 29, 2010 Check-Out Date: Sunday, May 30, 2010
  6. $55 a night. Stayed 4 nights. Won with first bid. Amenities: On the riverfront, nice views. Rooms are good, clean. Cons: Not near anything, far from downtown. Bad valet parking which is mandatory at $18 a day (which is not a bad price) Not exactly my idea of a 3.5* hotel, but you could do a lot worse for more money.
