  1. Thanks for correcting the date in the title. My last rejected bid was $59. Also, I forgot to mention that the lowest price available on the hotel's website for that night was $144, so I'm very pleased with this price. We stayed at this same hotel in 2003 and I'm happy to get it again.
  2. Oops, posted the wrong date in the title, it should be 7/7/07. First bid of $50 was rejected. I keep increasing my bids using free rebids until accepted at $60. Bids placed through SavingsBarn.com. I received several counteroffers, all of which I rejected. As my bids went up, so did the counter offer price, from $15 to $17. Doubletree Hotel Seattle Airport 18740 Pacific Highway South Se Seattle, Washington 98188 206-246-8600 Check-In Date: Saturday, July 7, 2007 Check-In Time: After 2:00 PM Check-Out Date: Sunday, July 8, 2007 Check-Out Time: 12:00 PM Your Offer Price: $60.00 No. of Rooms 2 No. of Nights 1 Subtotal: $120.00 Taxes/Fees: $ 25.92 Total Charges: $145.92
  3. I tried for a 2* hotel in the airport zone, but gave up after bidding $75, mainly because I had no free rebids and the person I was bidding for didn
  4. Even though I gave up trying for the FLL zone, I am posting my results below for those who may be trying for this zone on this weekend. Having placed several hotels through Priceline, I volunteered to book three pre-cruise rooms for a co-worker and her party for Saturday, April 9. Having stayed at the 2* Springhill Suites in the Fort Lauderdale airport zone, I highly recommended it to her. I have been trying since early February with no success. Having not found any posts for this date in this zone, I was bidding in $5 increments about once a week. I started at $45 which is what we paid in October and finally got up to $75 tonight with no success. Since this date is probably still in spring break and with little more than 3 weeks to go, she began to get concerned, so rather than waiting 72 hours to bid again, we changed zones and were successful in getting 3 rooms at the 4* Renaissance Downtown for $80 each, plus taxes and fees. I have posted a separate history of that bid below.
  5. I booked this hotel for my daughter and her friend. Bids in this zone were accepted in the in the high 30s, low 40s, so I bid $35 and it was accepted the first time. Maybe I should have started a little lower as I had two immediate free rebids if my bid wasn't accepted. My Offer: $35.00 No. Rooms: 1 No. Nights: 1 Subtotal: $35.00 Taxes/fees: $11.43 Total: $46.43 Note: This hotel charges $10 per day for parking. This bid was placed through SavingsBarn.
  6. Our group of six was in need of a hotel for one night for a pre-cruise stay on October 3, 2004. Our plane was to arrive at 6:20 pm, so all we needed was a place to sleep with a place to eat nearby. I used Priceline to bid on three rooms in a two star hotel in the Fort Lauderdale Airport Zone and received this hotel for $45 each, plus taxes and fees. All of the rooms are suites with either a king bed or two double beds. This hotel provides a free airport shuttle, so after we claimed our luggage, I used the courtesy phone to call the hotel. The shuttle arrived within 15 minutes. When I called to confirm the reservations, I requested at a least one room with two double beds. When I checked in, we were given three rooms with two beds each, two rooms next to each other and the third room directly across the hall on the fifth floor. An impression was made of my credit card in case of incidental charges. When checking in, I signed up for the free shuttle to Port Everglades. The shuttle leaves on the hour, so we signed up for the 11:00 shuttle and were told to be in the lobby no later than 10:30 as the shuttle would leave on time. Apparently, there is no one to take luggage to the rooms, but large luggage carts were provided and we were able to take up 12 suitcases and several carry-ons in one trip. Each suite had a sleeping area with two double beds and a TV; a seating area with a convertible sofa, chair and second TV; and a kitchen area with sink, small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and work table with a phone and free high speed internet connection. The bath has a shower/tub combination with separate vanity with a hair dryer. An iron and ironing board were in the closet. The hotel has a small swimming pool and an exercise room, but we didn
