  1. Win! Went for Dupont-National Zoo, 3 Star for $107 as you thought (and I hoped) it was the Holiday Inn and I am really happy! Great location, kids eat free, and outside rooftop pool. Thanks!!!
  2. I copied and pasted so I was sure not to miss amenities, and I used your link! 3. I need some help ID'ing options for our upcoming stay in August 22-25 for 2 adults and 2 kids; I tried to compare to wins and your list but was too far off the mark to really try to pin it down. Our musts are a pool and near metro, everything else is a bonus. I wanted to stay within a $130 budget per night. 4. A win that I am extremely pleased with!!! Got ita on thethe first trycome too. Hotwire was offering only 1 hotel with a pool in the area I wanted, and I wasn't completely comfortable with the hotel I thought it was. I knew with Priceline I probably had more hotel options that were 4* that I loved, but was taking the chance of not having a pool for my kids. Thankfully, it worked out! Hoping they honor my request of double beds, but if they don't, my kids are small and can do a cot easily. I used your PRICELINE link here when I purchased!
  5. I just booked through Priceline lastnight. I will post in that area next. Thanks for the help!
  6. Actually, the later 3 on my list are within budget because the Hotwire price is at or below that $100 mark. It was just noting that they listed higher on other sites. Any guesses on those, or are my guesses close? Also, any opinion if your familar with the area on which would be a better selection for us? Thanks again!
  7. Our budget is $100 per night and the other must is that it has a pool and is close to Metro. We will have a rental car that we'll either return in DC when weyour arrive, or park at the hotel and just return it at the airport when we leave. Prefer not to drive unless a must. Best guesses using your guide; #1 - Westin Alexandria #2 - Hilton Mark Center (the only difference is Hotwire lists golf nearby and your list does not) #3 - Hyatt Regency Bethesda #4 - Holiday Inn Historic District #5 - Sheraton Herndon Dulles
  8. Hello, I'm working on booking the 2nd part of our trip now (my other inquiry is not booked quite yet). Check Marked as a Best Value $154 list for $70 It lists no ameneties though.... 2 Adults and 2 Kids, 1 room 8/17 check in and 8/21 check out Thanks!

  12. Hi, I closed that thread awhile ago... but someone else replied after I did with their input. I just went back though to reconfirm I'm closing it for now and will start a new thread as that trip gets closer. Thanks!
  13. Just reconfirming that I'm closing this thread and waiting until we get a little bit closer to the weekend we want to go. Thanks!
  14. Hi, I used your HOTWIRE link and found the following hotel. I have an existing reservation at the Golden Nugget for $169/night but was hoping to save some money. It was the cheapest room available for the holiday weekend! Ameneties; Resort, Casino, Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, High Speed Internet, Spa 4 Star, $119/Night, 5/29 - 5/30 Thank you in advance!
  15. Crowne Plaza Bloomington MSP Airport/MOA 3.5 Star 1 night 1 adult 2 kids 4/30 - 5/1 $49.00/night $13.62 tax $62.62 total Amenities: Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby This was very last minute. Looked at Hotwire from my laptop (with 7 min of battery life left and no charger), booked it, and checked in 15 minutes later! We were very pleased with this property! We got a room with 2 double beds. It has a massive pool (olympic style) and the kids had a blast. hot tub was nice too. The Front Desk put us in a room right around the corner from the pool : ) The hotel wasn't busy at all. They do have a shuttle to the airport and MOA (we didn't use it). The rooms were basic, but very clean and comfortable. Great pizza deal from the on-site restaurant, and it was delicious!
  16. Just following up to my post to let you know that we haven't bid yet. I'm waiting to confirm a few more details on our trip. As it gets closer, I'll use the links to research it, and buy... and of course let you all know the outcome. Thanks!
  17. Yes, it was the Marriott Convention Center Downtown 3.5 Star. We requested a 3-star or higher when we bid. Thanks!
  18. Hi, just following up on my thread. We ended up booking by bidding on Priceline. We stayed 9/2/09 - 9/7/09 and bid on a 3 star or higher in the downtown area. We won our hotel for $69.00 a night and got the Marriott. It was perfect! Right on the free shuttle line and easy access to all the area's we wanted to go. Thanks for your help!
  19. Hello, I'm looking to find out what the following hotel might be; 3.5 Star Riverwalk North & Alamo Area Hotel No Smoking, Fitness Center, Swimming Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, Laundry, High Speed Internet $86.00 Thanks!
  20. I'm familar with the property... it's not bad at all, but is more like a 2 1/2 star hotel. It has a indoor pool, free hot breakfast, clean rooms... but in my opinion what you paid was overpriced. THis place averages more like $89 a night.
  21. The dates are firm, we've booked the airfare this week. I'm ready to commit unless there's nothing offered right now that we're interested in. We would like the downtown area very close to the shuttle with an indoor pool. I've seen $60 a night for some nice places (like the Sheraton), so that would be ideal! A 2 1/2 to a 3 star or higher is preferrable. We'd like to stay under $100/night. We have 2 adults and 2 small children. Thanks!
  22. Hello, we're looking at staying in downtown Chattanooga from Wed, Sept 2 - Sun, Sept 6. It will be 4 nights. Hotwire is offering two hotels: 3 start for $49.00 a night with airport shuttle, fitness, pool, restaurant, business center, and internet. 4 start for $129.00 a night with airport shuttle, fitness, pool, restaurant, business center, internet, an spa. The important things to us is being close to the electric shuttle and having an indoor pool. We have time to keep watching but I was wondering if anyone knew which hotels there were right now? Thanks in advance!
  23. Ok, I have more information.... We're looking at staying over Labor Day Weekend.... 9/3 - 9/7, 1 room for 2 adults, 2 children The amenities that came up on Hotwire with the 3 start hotel were airport shuttle, fitness center, pool, restaurant, internet, and business center. It is $45.00/night. The other downtown was 2 star with fitness, pool, and restaurant for $69.00/night. The last downtown one that came up was 2.5 star with internet pool and internet for $99.00/night. We really had our hearts set on the choo choo because of our son... as the main focus of the trip is trains (well, for him anyway)! Thank you for the suggestions on what to see and I'll take more if anyone has them. Anyway, if we did stay at the choo choo we thought about booking one or two nights in a train car room through the hotel, and the other nights in a regular room using Hotwire. However, I'm really torn. I've read the reviews about it needing a lot of work... I has asthma so mildew and "old" don't work great for me. I just hate to have my son miss the experience to staying there as the complex looks neat and train car room is one of a kind. To tell you the truth, once we get settled in room though I wasn't looking forward to uprooting and repacking either.... even staying in the same hotel. Ideas, suggestions... do you think renovations could be somewhat complete by Labor Day? Thanks so much!
  24. Hi, we're interested in booking The Chattanooga Choo Choo. I searched Hotwire and came up with a 3 star hotel (the only one offered that was 3 start) in the downtown area. Hotel shuttle, pool, dining, internet, etc. It's listing at $45.00 a night! We're staying for several nights and my oldest son who is 6 is a train nut. It's a great rate. How certain can I be that I will get this hotel? Thanks in advance for any help provided!
