  2. Hi, I just got back from a 5 night stay at this hotel. The Embassy Suites Downtown is a fantastic hotel and i highly recommend it to anyone. The rooms were all huge and of course had the separated living room from the bedroom. These rooms all had full fridge and freezers and had very nice marble countertops and full sinks. The best feature of this hotel is the bathtub. Each tub has a jacuzzi built in that really blows out some bubbles. This was heavenly and helped out after a long day at the Palais de Congres (Exhibition hall). So, yes this hotel is practically across the street from the conventino and just 2 blocks from Old Downtown. The breakfast was the typical cooked to order breakfast and was very good. There was also a managers reception where you could get 2 drinks per night for each night you stayed there. The hotel gave you coupons which you had to turn in to get a drink. The taxi from the airport cost $38 flat fee to any destination in the downtown area. Although, this hotel is a 20 minute walk from the main downtown (St. Catherine Street) it is a perfect choice if you have business at the convention center. The subway was very efficient and you could get anywhere it went from the hotel for $2.75. I loved Montreal and this hotel was a perfect fit for me. The only draw back might be the parking rates. I honestly don't know what they were but I know most parking at downtown hotels is $30-40 per night. You honestly don't need a car in this city. The cost of the room was $159.00 per night. A bit steep in some cities but on par or even a bit less than the standard in Montreal. Hope this helps someone in the future.
  3. Hi, Just wanted to let you know that I got the Crown Plaza Anaheim this morning for $48 on the first try. It came out to something like $61 after taxes and all. I am writing this response from the hotel. The hotel is nice and we got 2 queen beds for myself and my 3 kids. (was at soccer tournament). The parking kinda sucks here as you have to park a long way from the hotel unless you get lucky and can get one of the 25 or so spots in the front or close back. If not, you'll be lugging your stuff a little ways. I did have to pay a $12 "resort fee" which included parking, internet, and free local calls on the phone. This is crap but I just tell myself its for the internet or else it would really tick me. The first room we got was room 701 and it was about as far away from the elevators as you can get. We went into the room and it was about 90 degrees in there. I cranked the air and we went out to dinner hoping it would be fine once we got back. About to hours later we came back and the temp had dropped about 2 degrees. I called the front desk and asked if I could be moved to another room. I was nervous since I knew it was a priceline room and sometimes they discriminate. But, this time they were great and moved me to another room (711) and the air worked fine. Overall, I can't complain one bit about this hotel at $48 + 12 = $60 plus taxes. Its a nice hotel. I think I could have gotten this at about $40 if I would have tried to go low and then re-bid. Hope this helps. Joe

  13. Hello, I just found this website and I think the person who did this (Michigan avatar) is great!!!! OK, I know I didn't get the amenities and I will do this right the next time I go to HOTWIRE or PRICELINE. Anyway, tonight (or should I say, this morning 3/19/09 12:30am) I booked a room on Hotwire. It was a 3* Near South Strip for a total of $33 per night. I booked for March 20 checkin and March 22 checkout. I got the Doubletree Club hotel. I'm very happy since this hotel was going for $99 a night on Hilton.com and I'm a Hilton Honors member. Great site. I will use this and tell my friends. Thanks all Joe
