Just got a rental car using the PRICELINE link here. Was kind of a different experience though. With no bidding at priceline the best they offered me on a full size was $30 a day. So I started the bidding at $21. It said very low chance of acceptance do I want to raise it, so I did $23 a day. It processed through this time but no one accepted. Here is what was wierd. Instead of showing $30 as the best retail price normally available it said the going rate was like $90 a day!?!? I tried one more time at $26 a day it went through the processing and then kicked back a price of like $48 a day or this fancy special offer of $150 a week. So I bit at the $150 a week bringing the total after fees to $203 for the trip. Which beat what I was seeing at Expedia where the best offer was $198/wk for a total of $255. So all in all another successful Priceline experience in that I saved $50 over retail. Was just weird that it didn't show me a normal per day rate during the bidding process.

Won on the 1st bid of $76. Used the PRICELINE link here on better bidding. We were hoping to get the Hilton, Orlando as we like their lazy river. But this will work for a one night stay :) Thanks as always for all the wonderful info here on the site. Has helped us save alot of money over the past few years!

Planned an impromptu One Night stay in Savannah as we drive Northbound. Not seeing any real deals listed for the time period I started at what I thought would be a low bid of $75 for a 4* especially since the median avg for hotels in this are was listed at $224. Was accepted by Hyatt Regency Savannah on the first try! So savings of 58% As always thanks to Better bidding for giving me the knowledge on how to be a master deals negotiator! Even though I didn't get to do much negotiating this time around.

Just won the Hyatt Grand Cypress for $65. Just going for a weekend getaway next weekend, May 20th - the 22nd. Didn't have to do any rebids or anything. Just came here and checked the recent wins, clicked on the PRICELINE link here in the forums and started my bidding at $65 and won it first try. I have stayed at this resort before and really enjoyed our stay. We have also stayed at the Hilton Bonnet Creek in this area and while it is a little nicer with the lazy river pool, I am happy with this win. I just won my PRICELINE bid using information I had gotten here. I just started at $85.00 thinking it would get rejected since I saw other wins in the same timeframe for $89.00 but I got it on my first try. Wish now I had started a bit lower and did the zone rebidding thing.
