  1. used PRICELINE link. Bid downtown initially at 4* and worked my way down with rebids and additional zones. Started at $50.00 with 3.5*, rejected. Won at $52.00
  2. Used Betterbidding PRICELINE link. Have some business associates coming in to see the Sox. Good price for this property given location. Might be chaotic with the Grand Prix if they lock down streets on 8/30, but should be able to manage. Rejected at $60, PL offered free rebid at $71. Was in a hurry, so just plopped $67 in there to lock it down (after adding free rebid zone). Cheers
  3. Used PRICELINE link. Took two bidding sessions w several rebids but got my property: $45,50,53,57,58,60,61,63 Priceline added a 3.5* option for Beacon Hill within the last day, but I doubt there's really a 3.5*, offering so I considered that a free rebid opportunity.
  4. use PRICELINE link. Couldn't get zone 5 in Sandy 3* at my price point...seem to have a decent Mon-Thur business crowd. Expect you could win this property below $45 since I was never rejected with my two bids $50 and $45. buyer's remorse.
  5. used PRICELINE link. Couldn't get a $3* in Sandy so added zone 1 at the end of my rebids and got this property. good location. older property with "charm." had a stand up shower when i could have used a tub to soak my ski weary legs. have to pay for parking unless you arrive after 6pm when you are able to park on street for free all around the hotel. very close to decent restaurants and bars.
  6. used better bidding PRICELINE link. Admin please add this "new" PL property to your hotel list under zone 5 for Sandy. Nice property. No free breakfast, but had jacuzzi tub in room.
  7. One day rental. Booked on 3/17. Initial bid $10 Econ, accepted. Your Offer Price: $10.00 (per day) Total Rental Days: 1 days(0 days and 12 hours) Subtotal: $10.00 Taxes and Fees: $24.05 Total Charges: $34.05 Lowest Published Price: $44.53 Total Savings:* $10.48 (You saved 24%) Cheapest All-in price around $37 with Alamo for same car class. Had I more time I would have started at $8/day Used betterbidding PRICELINE link Cheers
  8. Used betterbidding PRICELINE link Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $36.00 Subtotal: $36.00 Taxes & Fees: $11.14 Total Charges*: $47.14
  9. Used betterbidding PRICELINE link Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $36.00 Subtotal: $36.00 Taxes & Fees: $11.14 Total Charges*: $47.14 Decent property
  10. Have you had any luck with the Sheraton lately? We recently hit for one night at $52 on 10/26/07, but couldn't get the next night. Stayed at the Holiday Inn Cromwell back in March 09. Room was dated, but beds were very comfortable/updated. Definitely wouldn't want to bid more than say $50.
  11. The Marriott used to be listed as a 3.5 on priceline but they have changed the rating to a 3* as they no longer have any 3.5* hotels in the Hunt Valley/Timonium zone. Be careful bidding 3* in the Hunt Valley/Timonium zone as the Crown Plaza in Timonium is classified as a 3* and that hotel is a bit run down/tired. I would bid 3.5 in Towson and try to the get the Sheraton for $52/night. Good luck.
  12. Unless you REALLY want to wake up in the city, I would just stay outside of the city in the burbs and drive in early each day and park in a garage. If you drink you could always take the light rail back out or a taxi. You will save probably $40-50 per night. Probably the cheapest parking near the stadium is the Redwood Apartments Parking Deck off Eutaw, just north of the Hilton. They have a flat rate of $15 or $20, but that might change given Red Sox crowd. On Saturday and Sunday, there's also a deck in Fells Point off Thames Street near Kali's court which charges $5 for all day parking on the weekend (might up rates with Red Sox). if staying in hunt valley/towson start bidding at $45 for a 3.5* (do not drop to a 3*) in hunt valley first, then rebid at say $50 by adding the townson zone. You should be able to get the Marriott in Hunt Valley or the Sheraton in Towson for somewhere between $45-$60/night. Good luck
  13. Try bidding night by night instead of a 3 day block if you can move around a little. Will have better luck. Also you should try to finalize your 6/1-6/2 portion of the trip soon/tonight as some hotels will not allow same day bids. Good luck.
  14. Don't go above your limit of $90. I would stay below $80-85 for a 4*. Still too far in advance. I would get serious two weeks before. Also try to bid only on the first night instead of lumping the entire stay into the one bid. You might stay below your target on the first night and get the "extend your stay option" after you win your bid. Also can try bidding on each night. I assume you are able to move hotels day to day. The other issue may be conventions around that time but appears you are in the clear. http://www.bccenter.org/events.php?page=1 MUST BE THOSE REDSOX FANS. If you have a car you will have to pay to park at a downtown hotel or a downtown garage, so staying outside of the city has the benefit of no parking fees, plus you can take the light rail into the city. If you stay north of the city in towson or hunt valley should expect to pay no more than $70/night tops for a 3.5* unless there's some lacross tourney that same weekend. If you are not driving then you may consider staying at a BWI airport hotel (which can be had for cheap) and taking the supershuttle to a downtown hotel like the Hilton of Pratt street (if you are going to the redsox game) and stash your stuff with a bellman. You can take the supershuttle from the airport or airport hotels for less than $13 per person into the city. Good luck!
  15. You are correct and I had a senior moment. please change my topic to Mariott Courtyard 700 Unicorn Park Drive which is a newer property than the Marriott off Mishawum.
  16. Bid on 4/21. One bid on 3* zone at $50, accepted Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $50.00 Subtotal: $50.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $12.66 Total Charges*: $62.66 I used the PRICELINE link
  17. Bid same day for one night $70 Inner Harbor $75 Inner Harbor, Stadiums $80 Mt Vernon (won Mariott) All in with tax $98 Note that the Hilton Convention Center on Pratt will not accept a same day bid. So if you want the Mariott, will have to bid on same day since Hilton bids are clearing at $72 if you are bidding at least one day ahead of your check in date.
  18. Started at usual $65 for 4*, declined the free rebid, added Stadium Hotels (currently there are no 4*'s), won at normal $72. Used PRICELINE link from this board. Cheers
  19. They have high speed internet wireless for free at the Sheraton North in Towson.
