Using your PRICELINE link (of course!) I won on my first bid. Thanks to the great information on this board, I already suspected the minimum price for the Hyatt would be $61. This booking could not have been easier. Yay!

Oh well. I got the dreaded "Priceline Special" room. Second floor, a dirty transom but no window, feels like I'm in a cellar. Constant hum of the hotel AC system outside. I asked to be moved as soon as I saw it. After much discussion with the manager, the front desk moved me to the room right above...after they moved some "stuff" out. I guess it was being used as storage. Anyway, the room was even worse...yes there was a window, but it was all mechanicals, debris, old ladders and construction junk. Even worse, the AC hum was now a constant roar. I went back to the desk, politely explained my problem, but was told there were no other rooms available in my room class. They sweetly adised me to go back to the windowless second floor room if i wanted to get any sleep. Ugh. They are going to try to move me for my second night, but not until after 3pm.
Be aware...there are two star rooms in this four star hotel. They seem to be reserved as a special room class. For us.
