  1. Since TST has lower rates usually, I would be careful not to overbid. I would bid like this (adjusting the amounts as needed): TST $100 Completely new bid WHK $100 add TST $110 Completely new bid TST+EHK $120 Completely new bid WHK+EHK $120 add TST $130 Gives you more bids and less chance of overbidding.
  2. Hotel: Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok Check-In Date: 29 Oct 2006Check-Out Date: 30 Oct 2006 No. of Rooms: 1No. of Adults: 1No. of Children: 0 Listed below are rates or packages that are available based on your selection criteria: Select Rate Best Available Rate Subject to 17.7% tax, VAT and service charge Starting from USD 140.00 average nightly rate I'm fairly sure $140 would do the trick... :) :) Looks like PL has no inventory whatsoever.
  3. This was supposed to be the "sure" bet for a Marriott on my trip while AMS has plenty of other possibilities. Oh well... I worked my way up from $70 and this was definitely the lowest for 4* (upgraded to 5*). Athenaeum Intercontinental Athens 89 - 93 Syngrou Ave Athens, Greece 30-210-920-6000 Zone: Athens Check-In Date: Friday, November 24, 2006 Check-Out Date: Saturday, November 25, 2006 Your Offer Price: US$77.00 Extend Your Stay Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: US$77.00 Taxes & Service Fees: US$16.94 Total Charges: US$93.94 Quite a steal considering Ichotelsgroup.com prepaid rate is EUR 140++.
  4. Amsterdam Marriott Hotel Stadhoudmrskade 12 Amsterdam, The Netherlands 31 20 6075555 Zone: City Centre And Museum Quarter Check-In Date: Saturday, November 25, 2006 Check-Out Date: Sunday, November 26, 2006 Your Offer Price: US$105.00 Extend Your Stay Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: US$105.00 Taxes & Service Fees: US$15.24 Total Charges: US$120.24 Exactly what I wanted - for once in AMS! Last time I was stuck in the Apollo... I was thinking whether to risk it in CC/MQ or just take the Airport Courtyard (I have Marriott Platinum). Given many Marriott/Renaissance weekend wins, and Marriott's rather low EUR 189 rate, I decided to take the gamble. A few days ago with $100, I was offered the "if you pay $115, we can get your room now". Today, started with $103 - counteroffer to add $22. Added North (NOT a free rebid) and bid $105 - got the Marriott.
  5. Courtyard By Marriott Amsterdam Airport Kruisweg 1401 Hoofddorp, The Netherlands 31-23-5569000 Zone: Schiphol Airport Check-In Date: Thursday, November 23, 2006 Check-Out Date: Friday, November 24, 2006 Your Offer Price: US$62.00 Extend Your Stay Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: US$62.00 Taxes & Service Fees: US$11.75 Total Charges: US$73.75 Bid $61 and got the counteroffer that I can get the room right now for $69. Added CC/MQ and $1 did the trick. I haven't seen the "Extend Your Stay" next to the price before. Marriott.com is EUR 115+city tax.
  6. Marriott Singapore 320 Orchard Road Singapore, Singapore 65-67355800 Zone: Orchard Road Check-In Date: Saturday, September 9, 2006 Check-Out Date: Sunday, September 10, 2006 Your Offer Price: US$96.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: US$96.00 Taxes & Service Fees: US$23.61 Total Charges: US$119.61 First bid $93 - counteroffer to add $22. I added $1 per free rebid and got it for $96. SGD 300 on Marriott.com as usual.
  7. Wasn't the first bid, should have included the history which went like this: $100 Orchard, countered +$22 $110 Orchard+Bugis, rejected $111 Orchard+East Coast, rejected $112 Orchard+Financial District, rejected $113 Orchard+Bugis+East Coast, rejected $114 Orchard+Bugis+Financial District - accpeted
  8. Hotel Name: Marriott Cebu City Biliran Road Cebu, Central Visayas 6000 Philippines 63-32-4156100 Zone: Cebu City Monday, 7 August 2006 Thursday, 10 August 2006 Your Offer Price: SG$57 (~36.20 USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 3 Subtotal: SG$171 Taxes: SG$35.49 Processing Fee: SG$16.50 (per offer) Total Lodging Charges: SG$222.99 Sorry for the late posting of this one, but basically the same deal as before.
  9. Marriott Singapore 320 Orchard Road Singapore, Singapore 65-67355800 Orchard Road Check-In Date: Thursday, August 31, 2006 Check-Out Date: Friday, September 1, 2006 Your Offer Price: US$114.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: US$114.00 Taxes & Service Fees: US$27.04 Total Charges: US$141.04 A bit higher than usual since this is a weeknight - but still a good deal compared to SGD 300 on Marriott.com.
  10. First bid accepted. I didn't bother trying lower as SGD 55 was rejected last week. Hotel Name: Marriott Cebu City Biliran Road Cebu, Central Visayas 6000 Philippines 63-32-4156100 Zone: Cebu City Your Offer Price: SG$57 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 5 Subtotal: SG$285 Taxes: SG$59.15 Processing Fee: SG$16.50 (per offer) Total Lodging Charges: SG$360.65 Almost exactly half price compared to Marriott.com
  11. Hotel Name: Marriott Cebu City Biliran Road Cebu, Central Visayas 6000 Philippines 63-32-4156100 Zone: Cebu City Check-In: Monday, 3 July 2006 Check-Out: Thursday, 6 July 2006 Your Offer Price: SG$57 (~USD 35.40) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 3 Subtotal: SG$171 Taxes: SG$35.49 Processing Fee: SG$16.50 (per offer) Total Lodging Charges: SG$222.99 Lowest rate at Marriott.com is USD 73.54, and while the Priceline rate is close to what this property cost a few years ago, it's a steal given the upgrades to bedding, service etc at the property.
  12. I see, interesting. Didn't see much difference between the Marriott and Ren.
  13. And so is the Prague Renaissance across the street from the Marriott.
  14. Another successful bid for the SIN Marriott. Marriott Singapore 320 Orchard Road Singapore, Singapore 65-67355800 Orchard Road Check-In Date: Saturday, June 3, 2006 Check-Out Date: Sunday, June 4, 2006 Your Offer Price: $103.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $103.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $24.99 Total Charges: $127.99 Started at $100, got a counteroffer to add $22. Added free rebids and hit it at $103. 50% savings on the published Marriott.com rate.
  15. Well that was just a general comment - I find pretty much all the non-chain 3-stars europe seriously lacking in quality. Just my opinion, but I would rather take the short metro ride from La Defense if the Renaissance is available in the 60-80 dollar range. It was a very pleasant hotel when I stayed there.
  16. Have you considered the La Defense area? The Ren often goes for around $70. And that's a 4-star hotel with very easy train access to the city. Quite frankly I would never bid for 1*, especially in Europe, and even if I did, my maximum would be around $20.
  17. $95 Orchard (Counter $22) $96 Orchard+Bugis $97 Orchard+East Coast $98 Orchard+Riverside $99 Orchard+Bugis+EC - accepted I guess it could be the exchange rates, but this hotel used to be always $55. In the last 6 months, I have booked $78-85-88-96-99 if I remember correctly, so seems to be getting higher and higher. :)
  18. Marriott Singapore 320 Orchard Road Singapore, Singapore 65-67355800 Orchard Road Check-In Date: Friday, March 10, 2006 Check-Out Date: Saturday, March 11, 2006 Your Offer Price: $99.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $99.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $24.30 Total Charges: $123.30 $3 more again. I wonder how far up they will go. I'll be looking at other choices if the rate goes beyond $120. Usual SGD 300 rate on Marriott.com.
  19. I've seen the IC as 3-star on a few websites. But if the Marriott is 5-star, sure the IC would be as well? :)
  20. Marriott Singapore 320 Orchard Road Singapore, Singapore 65-67355800 Orchard Road Check-In Date: Friday, February 17, 2006 Check-Out Date: Saturday, February 18, 2006 Your Offer Price: $96.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $96.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $23.76 Total Charges: $119.76 Thanks to some new Singapore zones, I worked up $1 per bid, so this was the lowest. Getting more expensive again... :) Might be due to the Asian Aerospace 2006 though, 2/18 jumps to a special event rate of SGD 460. This date was the usual SGD 300. The SGD 240 weekend rates seem to be gone, that might explain the more expensive prices.
  21. The hotel and breakfast were a joke when I stayed there. Room had a hole in the wall. Main door was locked at 9pm - I had to wait 15 mins to get in. The shower was out of order. And many others... I complained and got a reply that nothing that I wrote was correct, but I can enjoy a free night at this place next time. No thanks. :) Terribly far from the city centre and a long walk among a busy road from the Metro.
  22. And the 5-star Westin Nusa Dua is not really 5-star. It's the old Sheraton, pretty lame refurb done, basically Heavenly Bed in and Westin logos installed. It was ok for $55 but not really luxury.
  23. Yes I noticed that too. Also wonder why the usual weekend rate doesn't show up for the date despite the fact it's Saturday night. This rate is almost exactly half of the published rate, and the other rates I have got aren't far off either. Wonder if this has any meaning or just a coincidence. Considering the Four Seasons SIN has weekend rates significantly lower than SGD 290, Ritz Carlton Millenia was cheaper also, IMHO the published rate is a hingway robbery for a regular room without lonuge benefits at the Singapore Marriott.
  24. Price has gone up to $88 - bids of 85 and 87 were rejected. I could actually book it via my BKK travel agent for about $25 more, but since the Marriott seems to be the only Orchard 5-Star, I obviously took the greater savings. :) Marriott Singapore 320 Orchard Road Singapore, Singapore 65-67355800 Orchard Road Check-In Date: Saturday, January 21, 2006 Check-Out Date: Sunday, January 22, 2006 Your Offer Price: $88.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $88.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $22.34 Total Charges: $110.34 My preference as far as rooms go would definitely be for the Raffles the Plaza that has shown up for $95 - but that Platinum card in my wallet drives me back to this property... An upgrade to the renovated rooms on the 29th floor is worth every cent even if you need to pay for it.
