  1. Sugar bowl accommodations landed at a great price. Used the PRICELINE link at the top of the page as well. GO HOKIES! (sorry admin)
  2. Hey friend, if you are still looking for a cheap room in Downtown/French Quarter I have been monitoring all hotel sites for 2 days... This just came up on Hotels.com for $134/night - Cotton Exchange Hotel Downtown (221 Carondelet St). 2 rooms apparently remain. Sorry we couldn't PRICELINE this time! If its any help, I did get 4* for $70/night from 1/1 to 1/5 using PRICELINE link found on this website.
  3. It looks like its a TOUGH sell for NYE. I went up to $225 for a 4-star and got a "increase your price by $45 and we can get you a special rate room" but I declined. Iberville Suites also has rooms at $249 w/ king size bed and breakfast - thats probably the route I'll be going. I ONLY use the HOTWIRE / PRICELINE links found on this website to do my searches, you should do the same.
  4. Spring Hill Suites for $36 New Hotel with breakfast. Clean and great staff. I used the PRICELINE link located at the top of the page to book.
  5. Spring Hill Suites for $36 New Hotel with breakfast. Clean and great staff. I used the PRICELINE link located at the top of the page to book.
  6. I also bid $90 and got The Melrose for 12/31 to 1/1 (I am going to the Kennedy Center for the NYE gala so I wanted to be as close as possible). I am pleased considering the cheapest the hotel has listed in the past month is $149. Of course I am not traveling with a family of 4 but I think it will work out for the price. Good luck on your stay!
  7. Couldn't quite land the $70 deal mentioned on the site earlier today, but this will do! Heading out for two Dave Matthews shows, should be fun. Used PRICELINE link at top of the forum.
  8. 4* - Downtown Vancouver bid of $83 for 4/19 to 4/20 - got Marriott Pinnacle Downtown on first try (also included the Granville district in search). Used the PRICELINE link found on the top of every page of this site. :)
  9. What was the date(s) of your stay? Congrats on the bid!
  10. Four Points by the Airport YYZ. It was $52/total and has a free airport shuttle and free Internet. I USED THE PRICELINE LINK ABOVE TO MAKE THIS BOOKING
  11. Priceline.com accepted a bid for $78/night for 8/7 to 8/9. The search was for a four star (only) in downtown Toronto (only). I had previously tried $45, $55, $65 and $72. Sheraton Center Toronto 123 Queen St West The total after taxes was $185.74 I USED THE PRICELINE LINKS FOUND ON THIS SITE TO MAKE MY BOOKING
  12. 5* Las Vegas Strip Vicinity South THEhotel $162 - 3/20 to 3/21 Other failed bids for same date and 5*: $110, $120, $135, $142, $150 Its perhaps the most I have ever paid to stay in Vegas but it is a very busy Friday night in Vegas and I absolutely love THEhotel (I prefer it to Wynn and Bellagio) and I didn't get stuck with Trump so I guess I can be happy. $400 is the standard published rate on THEhotel website for this night. PS: I used the PRICELINE link atop this site.
  13. The opening rounds of the NCAA Men's basketball tournament is that weekend and it is a big draw for sports enthusiasts and gamblers. It always drives up demand around the game nights (Thursday and Friday prices and availability can be worse than Saturday) and often hotels with better or larger sports books tend to sell out or have higher prices (such as Caesar's). Despite the higher hotel prices - you'll probably enjoy having the added excitement that comes with this influx of fans. I'm trying to find a good deal for Friday as it is - I was able to get Encore for Saturday and Sunday at $189 via a travelzoo discount.
  14. $42 accepted for 3/13-3/14 (searched for 3 star and above in downtown and buckhead) Previously rejected bids for same dates: $54 for downtown 4* $50 for downtown 3.5* $50 for downtown 3* ACCEPTED bid for $42 for downtown, buckhead 3*
  15. I searched for 3/7-3/9 in the above posts. My last attempt was 2.5* for $125 which also came back unsuccessful. I found a decent number of deals in the "Last Second Vacations" section of www.Tremblant.ca. Hint: You can narrow down the blind search results to determine which hotels are listed by comparing the "amenities" to those listed on the standard booking pages.
  16. My recent attempts for a weekend stay - Failed Bids: 3/4/09 2.5* $60 2* $50 3/4/09 2.5* $60 3/5/09 2.5* $70 3/5/09 2.5* $90 3/5/09 2.5* $95 3/5/09 2.5* $100 I may look elsewhere ...
