  1. First bid $40 - rejected but offered re-bid for $52. Added Aurora for $44 - rejected Added Denver/Lakewood for $48 - accepted Used the PRICELINE link!
  2. Had to use quite a few re-bids and combination of zones but am very happy with $150 and the hotel. Lowest SPG rate is $399. Thanks BetterBidding!
  3. Booked 4* Renaissance LAX 6/4 to 6/6 for $56/night. Started at $48, got $14 re-bid offer. I declined and re-bid with Culver City for $56 and accepted.
  4. Have done $90, $95 and $100 with no luck. Will try tomorrow for $105. Would it be wise to wait a bit if I am unsuccessful? Unfortunately the Sheraton rate is prepaid/non-refundable.
  5. I was hoping to pay no more than $120-$130 for the room, but that may not be realistic.
  6. I have tried 2 bids for Sydney 5* for 4 July for 1 night. The current best available rate at the Marriott is AUD279 ~ USD198. The Sheraton is currently offering AUD205 ~ USD145. My first bid was a low-ball at $60. The next bid was $80. Any suggestions as to what we should do for our next bidding strategy? Unfortunately, there are no other zones to add so I am stuck waiting 24 hours between each bid. Thanks for the help!
  7. Received the Westin Downtown Seattle for $135 for 8/10 to 8/12. Began at $100 and added 4 re-bids to get to $135. Westin was selling for $234 elsewhere.
  8. This is true. They do have a great deal of knowledge and its not fair to catagorize them as mean. I am sure it was removed because of some sort of board policy.
  9. I saw a post to this on another travel site, and thought it was quite interesting. I ran a search for kicks for the same day as my next Priceline trip and it came back within $5 to $10 bucks of what I paid Priceline. Maybe another alternative to failed bids, or if you just want to know where you are staying in a particular city. www.travelaxe.com
  10. I think that sounds like a good idea. Why deal with mean people when you don't have to? :)
  11. I posted this on TOBB and it was removed within 3 minutes, hope it won't be here. Anyway, this is an interesting article from the BBC. Kinda puts our travel woes in perspective... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/3910965.stm
  12. Had a great stay at the Hyatt. Was given a great, high floor room. It was a great hotel at a great price!
  13. First bid up to $65 in the French Quarter with no luck, then bid on the CBD and got the Fairmont. It was a great hotel, and we had a wonderful stay.
  14. Thanks for your fast reply. I hope it will work out. Would it be helpful for this board if I post all my previous winning bids?
  15. I am not sure if this has been addressed in another post, but has anyone had a problem being under the 21 age limit on a Priceline reservation? I have stayed in a few PL hotels, and not had a problem, but I have a reservation at the Omni LA in October and found out by calling (their website does not state this) that the check-in age is 21, I also asked if they required and ID for check-in, which they do. Anyone have any advice, or am I needlessly worrying. I think the rooms have a mini-bar so I would imagine that would be the issue. I don't drink, so it won't even be tempting for me, but I would guess that is their concern. If anyone has any advice/suggestions that would be greatly appreciate. I am a new user to this board, but am a member at another bidding forum, and am impressed with betterbidding. I look forward to using the board in the future. Thanks in advance for any advice.
  16. Got this hotel this evening. Looks like a nice hotel. I am looking forward to my trip to LA and staying here.
