  1. Hi! I didn't find this property in the list, so as far as I know it hasn't been reported as a win before but I was just wondering if anyone has guesses as to options of what it might be? I realize they would be guesses, of course, but I would appreciate any help! Looking to stay 2 nights 10/7/11 - 10/9/11 around Cedar Point at 3* or above. Will of course use board links and report win if I end up bidding on it!
  2. I just wanted to give an update and say that I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel! As mentioned above, I wasn't thrilled when I won it, but was very pleasantly surprised! Lobby is nice, and though halls/elevator are a little seedy looking the rooms are just fine. When we arrived we were assigned a room that had not been made up; it was actually kind of strange because it seemed like it had been cleaned/restocked but then somebody had come back and "messed some things up" afterward. For example, all new towels and toiletries but one washcloth used and out of place; both beds made but one looked like someone had moved the pillows and sat down over the covers; a room key was left out on top of one of the beds; etc. We're not the type to get upset over a little mix-up like this, so we just nicely went down to tell the front desk and they were so embarassed and apologized profusely. She switched us to a different room and without asking gave us 2 free coupons for the breakfast buffet. The breakfast buffet was OK. I think I probably would have been disappointed if I had paid for it (I think they wanted $10/person), but the woman who runs it is very nice. The location was pretty convenient to both Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg although we still managed to get pretty lost one night. I don't want to absolutely rave about the place, but I definately think it was correctly rated as a 3* hotel (I was upset initially because it had previously been 2.5* and received an upgrade, which made me skeptical), and I would be happy to stay there again in the future! I am a little surprised though that I saw someone won this yesterday on PL as 3.5*. That might be pushing it a little bit with the star rating, but its definately worth the prices we both paid.
  3. Forgive me for intruding, but I have been following your thread and I believe it would be helpful to thereuare if you made a list like he asked...I could be wrong, but I think he is envisioning something like this: FORT LADERDALE Zone 5 (Ft Lauderdale Beach Area)- minimum 3*, maximum bid $95 + fees Zone 7 (Hollywood)- minimum 3.5*, maximum bid $105 + fees BOCA RATON Zone 1 (Boca Raton-North Deerfield Beach)- minimum 4*, maximum bid $105 + fees etc. Just an idea! That might be easier for him to know exactly what you want to help you faster, because I know you are trying to get this done quickly. Good luck!
  4. Very happy with this win! Started at $60 and worked my way up using rebid zones, searching for resorts in both the LBV-Downtown Disney and Main Gate regions and got a win at $80! FYI theres an $18 resort fee (which includes parking and fitness center) and an extra $9.99 for internet, but it still seems like a good deal for peak season. EDIT: the hotel is the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress ... Cypress got cut off in the title and I don't know how to fix it :)
  5. Dates are 3/12/10 - 3/17/10 (5 nights) Price= $105 Amenities are: resort, fitness center, pool, high speed internet access These are the only 4 amenities listed, I did the "see all amenities" option to make sure I wasn't missing any. No Trip Advisor rating given. Thanks in advance for your help!!
  6. Just wondering if there is something I should do to switch this property from 2.5* to 3* in the Priceline Hotel List for Virginia. Hoping to help out other bidders so they know this is an option when bidding 3* Williamsburg (something I wish I had known!) :)
  7. FYI, this property has moved up from 2.5* to 3* I was a little disappointed, had been trying to target the Holiday Inn Historic Gateway and didn't mind ending up with the Crowne Plaza so I started with $40 for 3* Center-Outlets, ended up with a counter offer of additional $12, but got greedy and decided to try to rebid at $45 adding in Historic-Busch Gardens and ended up winning Courtyard Marriott Williamsburg instead. Not trying to whine though, it was completely my fault for being both frugile and impatient- I should have either taken the counter offer or tried again today (this was yesterday) for Center-Outlets knowing that the 2.5* in Historic-Busch gardens might have gotten bumped up to 3* (which it did!) It still seems like a pretty good deal though, and the tripadvisor reviews seem OK so I'm going to try to be optimistic! :)
  8. I think a lot depends on what day you are looking for (i.e. weekend vs. weeknight) or what time of year (high season for tourism vs. the shoulder) Also, prices on Hotwire may change as you get further away from or closer to the date of travel Hope this helps
  9. I'm actually surprised you didn't get it yet either, because I saw someone else report winning the Four Points Eastham for Friday for only $70. I thought my higher rate was just because it was a Saturday, but I guess we never really know whats going on with PRICELINE! Keep in mind that there is no way to guarantee that you will actually win this specific hotel, there could be another 3* Eastham that hasn't been reported yet. Good luck and keep us posted, I hope that bidding strategy works for you!
  10. I'm new at this, but I won the Four Points Eastham on Priceline a few days ago (for $110 for this coming Saturday night) and was able to make 4 bids per day (not just 3) using the re-bid zones. Someone more knowledgeable please correct me if I'm wrong, but this is an example of the strategy I used: 1. Bid $95 3* Eastham 2. If rejected add Sandwich and bid $100 3. If rejected close out browser and start again with 3* Eastham + Provincetown and bid $105 4. If rejcted add Sandwich and bid $110 Also, I checked HOTWIRE for your dates and it looks like the only 3* available right now is in Falmouth. Even if something does come up Hotwire groups Chatham-Eastham-Brewster together, so if you really want to be in Eastham I wouldn't recommend using HOTWIRE as you might win a hotel in one of the other towns. Hope this helps!
  11. Thanks so much! I just noticed that in the title of my post Cape Cod was changed to Cape Code (with an E at the end). I also noticed this a couple places in the Priceline Hotel List. I don't know if this can be changed, but it might be helpful to change it for people searching for "Cape Cod" where it wouldn't come up otherwise.
  12. Just won the Four Points Sheraton in Eastham for $110 for a Saturday night on the Cape. :) Started at $60 and worked my way up in $5 increments. There was a + $22 counteroffer at $95. I was trying to target this property, so I'm really happy its what I ended up getting!
  13. Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that! Thanks for reporting back though so now I'll know not to book it as well. P.S. I also can't believe they are describing this as 3 star from the reviews I read about it.
  14. I would also be interested in hearing thoughts on what this second hotel might be. Seems like ur_too_crazy and I are on the same hunt for Cape Cod hotels! Thanks in advance for any suggestions :) FYI I am looking for 7/10 - 7/12 and it is coming up as $80/night for me
  15. Thanks very much for replying anyway! Do you think there is any chance it is the 2* ExtendedStay America upgraded to 3*?
  16. I was also wondering about this same hotel but for different dates. I checked the Hotwire hotel list but I couldn't seem to match it up- any help would be appreciated! :)
