  1. Used the PRICELINE link from Better Bidding. First offer accepted. 3*, Zone 1 Duluth, $80, 2 rooms. Wanted to bid lower but the wife was in my ear.... :) Cheapest I could find this exact hotel online was $119 and even tried calling them directly and was offered $179! Not too bad but should've started my bid around $60. Duluth is always higher than most cities for some reason? Can get Minneapolis for $40-$50 no problem....go figure.
  2. Used the PRICELINE link from BetterBidding. First bid was for 4* Downtown North for $75 -- Declined Second bid was for 4* Downtown North and South for $85 -- Accepted @ 4* Downtown Hilton Looked around the net and the best deal I could find for that hotel on that date was $173/night so $85 was a bargain IMO. Great hotel. I signed up with Hilton Rewards as I had read somewhere that it makes it easier to get the type of room you want if you do so. I needed both rooms with 2 doubles as we were traveling with 4 adults and 4 kids. I was told I had reserved 1 king bed/room when I checked in but I mentioned that I had emailed them through Hilton Rewards requesting both rooms with 2 doubles and they happily obliged. Clean, convenient to everything downtown, nice indoor/outdoor pool and the price was right. Got gouged to park in an outdoor lot one block up for $40 for all day and into the next morning because the van we had wouldn't fit in the underground parking on site. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
  3. This hotel needs to be added on the known Priceline Hotel Lists for Duluth as it isn't listed.
  4. Duluth Minnesota. Tried 2.5* and up for $40. Delined. Added 2* and bid $50. Declined. Added 1* and bid $52. Accepted @ Best Western Downtown Motel. I'm not sure what * value this motel is but I know it's a small motel without a pool etc. They do offer free continental breakfast though. I will review the hotel after staying there.
  5. Sorry. The dates for the Hilton were Friday Aug. 7th and Saturday Aug. 8th. Thanks,
  6. Linked from this site to PRICELINE and got the Hilton on my first try for $42/night for 2 nights (Friday and Saturday) on 3 seperate rooms. Tried to add one more night for only one room (Sunday) but PRICELINE wouldn't accept either $42 or $47 for a 3.5*. Ended up having to select a 3*, no go on that either but eventually got the La Quinta (2.5*) for $42. The Hilton is an excellent hotel. 5 mins. from Mall of America. 15-20 mins. from Valley Fair. Easy to find, well located, pretty fancy, nice pool area and great rooms with HD LCD TV's. The only downfall was that they could only give us "Priceline" customers a room with a King bed...which is tough toting along 2 kids. They did however give us a roll-away cot which helped. Highly recommended.
  7. Excellent Hotel. Enclosed walkway allows you to get right next to the Excel Center without having to go outside, although it is a little tricky to figure the routes out. (Especially after a few "pops"). I asked for a room with sleep number beds and they upgraded us to the 23rd floor. This room was great. It had a living area, a 37" LCD TV, wrap around windows with a great view of the river and the room was very big, all for only $70/night. A bargain IMO.
  8. Thanks thereuare.....it is for travel in April.
  9. I attempted to book a room through Priceline @ the 2* Fairfield Inn Duluth as done by a previous poster. I entered 2*, Zone 1, Duluth,MN for 2 rooms for 2 nights each. I was denied and it offered to allow me to bid again immediately if I increased my bid by at least $12 which I did. They accepted my offer but they upgraded me to the 3* Radisson Harbouview. I wanted to stay at the Fairfield as I think it's a nice hotel that is across the street from Duluth's major shopping mall but the Radisson is a decent hotel as well and for $52 compared to the $148 they want through their website I can't complain.
  10. I tried $40 Zone 1, 2 star in Duluth for Apr.24-->Apr.26 through Priceline and was turned down. It asked me to increase my bid by $12 and they'd try again. I increased my bid to $52 and my bid was accepted but I was upgraded to the 3 star Radisson Inn Harbourview. I was hoping for the Fairfield as I think it's a better hotel and the wife wanted to be across from Miller Hill Mall but I can't complain.
  11. Newbie here....made this purchase through Priceline before I knew about this site. Will link to PRICELINE through here from now on. 03/02/09 until 03/04/09 Searched the usual websites to find out rates and the best I could find was $187/night for this particular hotel. I've stayed there before and it's quite nice (used to be a Radisson) and had Sleep Number beds which are very sweet. Going to a concert @ the Excel Energy Center and we wanted something close by. Using Priceline we had it down to 5 different hotels @ 3* and the Crowne was the most expensive via the other websites so we were shocked that PRICELINE put us there. Tried $50, then $60 and got accepted @ $70/night for 3 rooms. Probably could have gotten it a little cheaper but we were happy with the rate that we got it for. I'll report back with a review as it's changed owners since the last time I stayed there ~5 years ago.
