1. It has been awhile but this year going back to YVR to fish. Thus need a stay at YVR area for early morning flight out to Quatsino. Prices seem higher than before and would really appreciate help on this hotel on Hotwire. Dont mind bidding on Priceline too. Second leg of hotel stay will be 09/12-09/13. Thanks in advance 4star Boutique Hotel - YVR Airport HOTWIRE Amenities Airport shuttleBoutique hotelBusiness centerFitness centerIndoor pool(s)Pet friendlyPool(s)Restaurant(s)Smoke-free rooms Guest Ratings Overall satisfaction 4.5 Condition of hotel 4.5 Quality of service 4.5 Room comfort 5 Room cleanliness 5 Location of hotel 4.5
2. Bidded for 3.5 stars - started at 75, with increments of $5 and won at 85. Relatively easy win - did I bid too high? Used your PRICELINE link. Now trying to bid for 22 Aug stay - but facing bidding failures - will keep trying.
3. Started bid at $65. Was offered $103 when I reached $84. Won at $90/-.
4. Started bid at $60, with $2 inrements. Was offered $85 when I reached $72. Won at $74.
5. Yes, I did use the PRICELINE link. That's the least I could do for all the invaluable input I have received. :)
6. Just won this hotel and at $140, this is indeed a better deal than my back-up hotel of $189. You really make good your "recommendation". It was quite an easy win - why is it as compared to bidding in April, did new inventory just opened up or was it the new zones that were included? I have not stayed in this area before, and tripadvisor reports on the property are rather mixed. I have also not seen the hotel being won too often. Nevertheless, I am very happy. Thanks again and have a great summer...
7. Will give it another go before my hotel cancellaion deadline kicks in. Appreciate bidding strategy for ESB, MTE, UWS, MTW, MSG for maximum bid $180 4-star. For 3.5 star, my max would be $150 (plus or minus). Will definitely use PRICELINE link. Thanks
8. I wonder whether I should now relooked at my NYCstay for 8/31 to 9/8. My cancellable UWS 3* hotel for $189.00 (8 nites - $1779/-) includes free internet and breakfast and the property has some kitchenette facilities which would allow me to prep some simple snacks. Also I like and am familiar with the UWS area. Do you think I can still possibly get a room (matching or less to my current cancellable reservations) at this time, taking into consideration September is quite a pricey period. I am open to all zones except not the hotels very near to TS. Is the Courtyard right smack in TS? Again, many thanks in advance.
9. Yippee :D ! Followed your strategy to the T. Was counter-offered $153.00 when I reached $123, but soldiered on although was so tempted. Got The Westin Grand Vancouver at my last free Whiterock rebid. Very happy with this property (IMHO better than my earlier Sheraton priceline win of $155) and I have stayed here before. The kitchenette will surely come in handy for my stay. Many many thanks for your assistance and yes used your PRICELINE link. P/S I wonder whether I should now relooked at my NYCstay for 8/31 to 9/8. I have a cancellable UWS 3* hotel for $189.00 (8 nites - $1779/-) which includes free internet and breakfast. I was not able to get win any hotel on the recommended strategy. Any thoughts? I like and am familiar with the UWS.
10. I bid on a 4-star strategy. If it is just an additional 10 or 15 dollars a night, I will take another shot at 4-star. However, for the period 8/25 to 8/29, it will be just one person staying in the room since my partner will be away fishing. I can settle for a 3.5 star, if all fails. I am just worried, I may be left stranded with no back-up plan.
11. Just finished bidding and all 3 permutations rejected. :( Am worried as I do not have a back-up plan. Please advise 3.5 bidding strategy. Many thanks again.
12. Thank you for your patience. Will bid up to $120 max for 3.5 stars - Downtown, and Downtown Entertainment. If rejected, will try for a 3star bidding up to $110 max and adding zone Vancouver South.
13. This is the first leg of my Vancouver stay 8/24 to 8/30. I will leave for NYC on 8/30 and return to Vancouver on 9/8. For the 8/24 Vancouver stay, my intention is get a 3 star or 3.5 star room (max $120) either on PL or HW whichever is cheaper. I dont mind any zone except not near to East Hastings. Also near to public transportation would be a plus. I am quite keen on Vancouver South esp if it is the Holiday Inn but I dont see that coming up as often in PL or HW now. Tks

15. Need strategy for 3 or 3.5 star in Vancouver (max to pay $120) for 8/24 to 8/30 -any advice much appreciated. Or should I stay at the airport except that it would be a hassle to travel down town every day.
16. Just won this. I understand there are 2 towers to the hotel and wondering which would be the preferable one to stay in? Also need a strategy for 3 or 3.5 star in Vancouver (max to pay $120) for 8/24 to 8/30 -any advice much appreciated. Or should I stay at the airport except that it would be a hassle to travel down town every day.
17. Please help to identify this hotel on PL express. I am guessing it to be Holiday Inn Broadway - any thoughts on this hotel and the rate? Should I bid on PL? I have read some mixed reviews on this hotel, and understand that some rooms have gone through a recent renovation. I have also a 10% coupon for PL express and after discount it works out to be $713.58 for 6 nites. I would also need to book another stay from 9/8 to 9/12, so any advice from you will be greatly appreciated. 3 Star Hotel in City Hall - Vancouver South Area for $109/night, Guaranteed Amenities: Free Internet in room Pets Allowed Restaurant Fitness Center
18. Just to update this thread. Have not been successful on priceline bidding so far. I have booked a cancellable room at the Milburn for $189 per nite (free internet and breakfast included). Is this a good rate for a 3-star at this time of the year. Am familiar with the UWS area just not so sure of the hotel. Do you think I could do better on priceline or hotwire, or should I keep my booking. Any comments will help. Many thanks.
19. Any idea which hotel this is? After applying 10% coupon it works out to be approx $134 before tax. Am worried about hidden resort tax though. 4 Star Hotel in Downtown Vancouver Area for $149/night This deal saves 35% or more c Guest Score: Rated 8.0out of 10 (or higher) Guaranteed Amenities: Free Internet in public areas Indoor Swimming Pool Pets Allowed Restaurant Business Center Fitness Center
20. The rate is from Hot.wire using the Bidding.Helper. Sorry should I keep the thread here or in Hotwire? This would be our 3rd trip to NY, so we sort of have covered some major sites, and would like to take it slower this time around. However, would prefer to be close to a subway and yes the shopping is a plus point.
21. Thanks for your respond. For the same period, I am seeing the following hotel under hotwire Soho-Tribeca 4star $115/- Free internet Fitness centre Business centre Internet access Any idea which hotel this is?
22. Have been diligently bidding uo to $190 following the strategy, however still unsuccessful. Am getting worried, any suggestions? Thanks
