  1. That 4.5 Star Lake Buena Vista resort with $22 fee was probably the Hilton Bonnett-Creek. I did end up booking directly with Hhonors for a four night stay there (why I was tracking this thread). At certain times, you just need to do what you have to do. In the end, they released a pile of rooms that drove the cost down to $142/night for my stay. Yes, there was a $22 resort fee and a $16?? daily self-parking fee. I saw HOTWIRE rates for 5 stars for the sister property (Waldorf Bonnett-Creek which is right next door) for just over $200 at the time of booking. Both hotels were very nice. The pool at the Hilton was great for kids (although they could have had a deeper and isolated section for adults) and there was plenty of service -- pool bar opened until 11pm, food and snacks available, coffee shop, four restaurants, etc... Of course, everything has a price and expect to pay dearly. The grounds of the two properties were lovely and before the first Tee Time, you could walk the 18 hole golf-course safely. A very short ride to all the Disney Properties as this is within the "Main Gate" but it's further down a new road so "walking" anywhere was not an option. Hope this helps. AGE
  2. If you are paying attention to that opportunity and can remember this post, I would love you to PM me with what you find. I will keep an eye out here. I am struggling to do a similar thing. I need two rooms - one for four and one for two.... and I want to do the resort thing but want easy walkable interest like Downtown Disney or Boardwalk as we will be abandoning two people for an entire day while we hit Playa Linda (wonderful beach) north of the Cape launch facilities. They are non-beach goers so I want them to be able to do things without the car. Good luck. AGE
  3. And although the deck needs repair... Serious fixing honestly... the rooftop pool and hot tub are really nice later at night. I have been to this property a few times. AGE
  4. You bet I can... 12-16 Feb 2013. Again, $70 per night plus taxes and fees rolls up to $80/night all-in. AGE
  5. Here's a Hotwire win that you might want to add to your list of Hotwire Hotels. I will confirm the accuracy of the Hotwire customer recommendations next week. I simply needed a crash-pad and little else for a four night stay. Doesn't hurt that it's less than 4 miles from public beach access. Taken at $70 per night listed and $10.30 additional per night taxes and fees for about $80 night. Deerfield Beach Area - Property is near I-95 and SW 10th Street on east side of interstate. Extended Stay America - Fort Lauderdale - Deerfield Beach - 2 Star - Hotwire Recommended in 95% of Hotwire Customer Reviews Ammenities: Free Parking Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Kitchenette The hotel website reports property completely newly renovated. Trip Advisor rated #8.
  6. Thanks folks... Right now I hold a straight out AAA res for the PBI Ramada Inn as the price is a bit better than the HOTWIRE price for what seems to be the LaQuinta with a shuttle ($109 before taxes and fees vs. $93 all in). I will keep an eye on things to see how pricing is changes over the next two weeks. Thanks again. Go Badgers! AGE
  7. Of course I have reviewed all of these through this site and I cannot identify what property this might be. AGE
  8. Currently - Hotwire is reporting a West Palm Beach Airport 2 star property for $65 for 12 - 13 Feb. It is reported to be Hotwire Customer 85% Recommended. I simply need a crash pad for a very late arrival and early departure. I am looking to determine if the property does have an Airport Shuttle. It is not listed in the Amenities but I have seen that happen before. Amenities listed are simply Free Parking, Pool. Thanks. AGE
  9. Jeff... down in the Financial District and Embarcadaro there are a lot of alternatives. The best that I used to do when traveling was the Overnight Values when you would enter by 5pm and exit by 7am. This way, you can use your car to drive the coastline and do day trips out of the city while saving cash. Of course, as the other posts state, you don't want or need your car when you are doing stuff in the city. So, you should be able to have the best of both worlds -- bite the bullet for 24 hour parking and save when you only need overnight back at the hotel. Some of the lots might be a bit of a walk. This way, you can get away from the family, grab a coffee, take a nice walk, and pull up to the hotel and load from there (just my idea having traveled the US with twins from babies to now 13. Here are a couple of options: http://sanfrancisco.centralparking.com/San-Francisco-Financial-District-Parking.html ... err... my PC is about to crash. More later... AGE
  10. Mea Culpa... botched the sub-topic format... Needed a simple overnight at the airport for a Sunday, Oh Dark:30 departure. Multiple failed attempts in the MIA Int'l Airport zone for $50 at 3* and received the "...try adding $14 to the bid now..." responses. Now that I am approaching the 9th hour, I didn't have time to mess around any longer so I tried the following: 28 Feb - 1 Mar 09 4* MIA Int'l Airport Zone bid $60 -- rejected. Lowered Star Rating and kept pricing: 3.5* MIA Int'l Airport Zone bid $60 -- accepted. 3.5* Doubletree Miami Mart/Airport Hotel pricing out at $60 + $15.63 taxes and service fees = $75.63 I don't like the idea of paying $7 for parking and will see if I can drop the car off after dinner and ride the shuttle back to the hotel and back to the airport again on Sunday a.m. Now it's time to make sure that I have enough pull through my HHONORS history to get two beds otherwise, the four of us are going to be cramped in that King.... :)
