  1. My middle win of my trip out of the downtown zone because all the hotels were booked. Used the PRICELINE linkey! :)
  2. My second win with this hotel having to break up the dates because of the women's basketball ordeal. I will post my third win in another thread. Used the PRICELINE linkey! :) 3/27/10-3/29/10 - seems like the date somehow got messed up on top.
  3. Booked this hotel through PRICELINE and won it as expected. I tried (and knew) I wouldn't win it on the 26-27th because all hotels in the downtown area are pretty much booked because of woman's basketball :). I had no idea that was such a big sport.... Thus I will post my other two win dates in other threads. Used the PRICELINE linkey! :)
  4. Sorry for not posting those, you can tell i'm a priceline person, not hotwire... They were High Speed Internet and Comp Breakfast like you currently have.
  5. Found this crazy 2.5 star hotel on hotwire that had a tripadvisor review of 85% positive and 4 star on tripadvisor... Seemed to match your 3* Hotel Emona Aquaeductus so I took the risk. Happy with the results as the reviews are good. I think its a good deal for downtown Rome. Bingo. Won the Hotel Emona Aquaeductus for a 2.5* rating. Check-in Mon, May 24, 2010 Check-out Wed, May 26, 2010 $129.00 Nights 2Rooms: $258.00 $54.45 Total: $312.45 Used the HOTWIRE Linkey! :) This does lead me to the question whether the HOTEL chooses the star rating or hotwire? Because there is no reason for the hotel to get downgraded to a 2.5* when it is at least a 3* or better...
  6. Although this may not seem logical (or it may depending on the price of hotels in your area)... what is stopping people from purposely overbidding on their hotel? Then they get $25 back and $50 in rewards... Hmmm. Odd.
  7. I don't really understand the Priceline Big Deal offer they have on their webpage... It says that if I bid and can find a lower price, they will match it and take off $25 (refund the credit card). I booked a hotel in Florence for $126 for two nights via the name your own price. The total on the hotel website is $223 for two nights. Will I be able to qualify for this Big Deal offer? My biggest problem is that the website lists the hotel price in Euros. If so, how would they do the Euro conversion? And I saw something about getting a $50 off your next two hotel purchases as well? If anyone can clear all this up, I'll try and see if I can claim it. Thanks!
  8. $113 was accepted by Hotel Sempione Check-In Date: Thu, May 20, 2010 / After 03:00 PM Check-Out Date: Sat, May 22, 2010 / 11:00 AM This one didn't save me any money. Pretty much the same price as if I booked through the hotel's website. :) Used the PRICELINE linkey! :)
  9. Won the Hilton for $170 + tax. I tried everything from 2* and up and this was the best I could come up with. Beat HOTWIRE by $9 Tuesday, May 18, 2010 Check-Out Date: Thursday, May 20, 2010 Used the PRICELINE linkey :).
  10. Won the Holiday Inn Gatwick Airport hotel for $49.00 + tax/fees. Matched the list perfectly. Thanks guys. Amenities were Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-speed Internet Access, Tennis Nearby Check-in Thu, May 13, 2010 Check-out Fri, May 14, 2010
  11. Yipee. Did so many bids my fingers just about fell off. I finally won Park Plaza Victoria London. Westminster 239 Vauxhall Bridge Road London, United Kingdom Check-In Date: Fri, May 14, 2010 / After 02:00 PM Check-Out Date: Tue, May 18, 2010 / 12:00 PM Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: US$112.00 4 nights total. Subtotal: US$448.00 Taxes & Fees: US$91.44 Total Charges: US$539.44 Used the PRICELINE linkey :) !
  12. Ick. Not what I wanted. :). Never seent his hotel won before and I sure hope no one else does. Bad reviews and way outside of downtown. going to take 6 miles of busing to reach the hotel. Check-In Date: Friday, April 23, 2010 Check-Out Date: Saturday, April 24, 2010 Subtotal: $77.00 Taxes and Fees: $16.86 Total Charges*: $93.86 Used the PRICELINE linkey. :)
  13. Check-In Date: Fri, Jul 16, 2010 Check-Out Date: Sat, Jul 17, 2010 Subtotal: $50.00 Taxes & Fees: $13.90 Total Charges*: $63.90 Pretty pumped I won this again (I won't have to change hotels, although I was fine doing so)... Saved $4 by not extending days and just rebidding. They just announced they are offering complementary full breakfasts now starting in March too. What a great surprise bonus! Used your PRICELINE linkey. :)
  14. Good choices, and those happen to be my two favorites near the airport, too.
  15. I was still shooting for the Bonaventure here but again landed the Omni. I dont believe I see the Omni won this low in a long time so I thought when the screen came up I might have finally landed the bonaventure. :) Whatever, as long as the shine my shoes good, i'll be happy :) . Used the linkey :o. $75 was accepted by Omni Los Angeles Hotel At California Plaza for the following dates: July 11, 2010 - July 12, 2010. I am convinced the Omni prices rooms either by weeks or days because I bid this amount for another week and didn't win. That means they must already keep tabs of what weeks are busy and what arnt. Perhaps because this is a weekend, I got a better deal through PRICELINE.
  16. Don't hold it against the hotel. Almost (maybe even all) the airport hotels charge for parking. The Doubletree charges, Holiday Inn charges, Red Lion charges etc. Why? I don't know. Property around the airport really isn't all that expensive.
  17. Last question thereuare, thanks for the response! Do you know if they still send complimentary room upgrades, and do you happen to know if you can use them with a priceline/hotwire stay?
  18. Does anyone know if you can use the Select Guest Benefits with your stay? Read a bunch of people on tripadvisor recommend you sign up for them to get free internet, free morning beverage etc. Curious if they would do this for a PRICELINE win?
  19. Not the hotel I wanted. Had a WONDERFUL stay at the bonaventure last year. That being said, this looks like a good hotel too. Check-In Date: Saturday, July 17, 2010 Check-Out Date: Monday, July 19, 2010 Your Offer Price: $85.00 Subtotal: $170.00 Taxes and Fees: $33.36 Total Charges*: $203.36 I used the PRICELINE linky :)
  20. Well I tried going down to 3* in both categories and I end up winning Ramada Anaheim - Ramada Plaza Hotel Anaheim Resort 515 West Katella Avenue for $53 a night + tax. 4 nights total from 7/12-7/16. Anyone know if that's a decent deal for the All Star game time?
  21. I'm striking out for a way future stay in July. The dates are July 12-15. I know the All Star game is taking place in Anaheim and is probably one of the reasons I'm not winning anything. What I'm a little worried is the fact that I can't seem to win ANYTHING. I've tried bidding up to $80 in 3.5 Anaheim Disneyland and up to $75 in 3.5* Disneyland Garden Grove. I tried 4* Disneyland Garden Grove up to $90. Question is, could this be simply because hotels haven't looked that far in the future? Or am I really going to be spending $90+ most likely? Last year in July people were winning stuff between $40-$80 with no problem. Thanks for the help and throw me a bidding strategy if you get time. Dont like the options on hotwire at this time either.
  22. Actually this hotel has pretty cheap parking compared to the downtown area ($30+). I don't know what your plans are or if you are from the area, but about 6 blocks down, you can catch the shuttle to downtown. The ride takes about 38 minutes and it only costs around $3.50(ish). If you are wanting to go to the city, this is a pretty ideal hotel right now. That light rail link just opened in December.
  23. The Westin Seattle is very strict about the point system and does not honor starwood points for the stay. They do however honor late checkout if you are platinum, so I always use that to my advantage.
  24. Congrats on the win. Try hard to get a room with a space needle view my friend. I've always wanted to do this! I'd love to see the space needle fireworks from 30 floors up. If you need to know the room #'s, of the best rooms with space needle views, it's rooms ending in 31 (like 3131) which have two beds.
