  1. First bid rejected at 40, then rebid by changing to an area without a 3.5* hotel and next bid of 45 was also rejected. Selected another area that did not contain a 3.5* hotel and my last bid of 50 was accepted.
  2. I responded to my previous thread about Chicago.. Thank you for the reminder!
  3. We ended up finding a better deal on travelzoo and decided to go with them instead of HOTWIRE. Thank you for the suggestions!
  4. Hi I am wanting the Crown Plaza on West Chester because it is connected to CoCo Key Water Park. It use to be a Sheraton I do believe which was a 3.5 star; however on priceline the hotel is rated as a 3 star. my question is are the star ratings the same on the name your own price option as on the see the price option. it says that a Crown Plaza is typically a 3.5 rating when it lists examples. Can I purchase the trip insurance and cancel if it is not it the one. I might be best to go with hot-wire for this one because I know it is the 3.5star hotel based on the rating and amentities.
  5. Aaron thank you for the feedback! I agree that those prices seem high for those dates. I thought October would be a lower season, but I guess not! The main reason that I am worried about going with Priceline is they only guarantee to accomdate for two people and with Hotwire they will provide enough bedding for the number you specify; eventhough it may be a sofa sleeper and a bed which is fine. I really only need one room for two adults and two children and the other just needs to accomodate two adults , but I couldn't specify that with hotwire because it only asks for the numer of rooms and it assumes that you want the same number of people in both rooms for some reason. Does anyone know the success rate of calling the hotel directly and asking for 2 doubles or queens after booking on Priceline?
  6. I am thinking it is either the Holiday Inn Express or the Inn of Chicago?
  7. OK thanks... I added a response for my last thread that I created in the Ohio Priceline forum.
  8. thanks for the help. I actually just booked a room through Radisson directly, since that was the only definate way I would get that hotel.
  9. Can someone please provide suggestions on what hotel they think this description fits? 3-star hotel in Magnificent Mile Area - Streeterville Fitness Center Business Center High Speed Internet Access 3.5 out of 5 circles and 240 plus reviews on trip advisor as of June 2009 the published rate is 129.00 for Oct 6th and the 7th for 2 rooms with 2 adults and 2 children. Thanks for your help!
  10. Hi I am trying to increase my odds of getting the Radisson in Covington KY (Downtown Cincinnati area). This is my first time using priceline, so I want to make sure I do everything right. It looks like it is the only downtown Cincinnati hotel that has three stars, so does that mean that as long as I bid on a category three in the downtown Cincinnati area I will get the Radisson? I wasn't for sure how accurate the betterbidding.com hotel listings were for each state. Can they upgrade me to a 3 and 1/2 or a 4 star hotel if I click 3 star hotels only. I want this specific hotel because this is were the the wedding party I am with is staying, but they are paying more then I can afford to stay there! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
