  1. After bidding on priceline and getting the Westin for 07/15/1010 - 07/18/10 now trying to find a room for arriving July 14. The hotwire rate for this day is about 250 USD!!!!! @thereuare: Thank you for the assistance. Do you have any other advices for the July 14 night? Could you tell me something about the Liberty State Park? Departure of boattrips? and is the LSP easy to reach by public transport?
  2. After reading your option to split the bidding, I have booked via Hotwire for the period July 15 until July 18 and get the Westin for an acceptable rate. 123,00 USD per night 2 adults - 1 children Amenities Smoke free rooms Fitness center Pools Restaurants Business center High speed internet access Now try to find a room for arriving July 14. 3. Tonight I have tried again until 124 USD without success for the 4* Jersey City. What do you think about the 3* Jersey city hotels? Are this the Doubletree and the Courtyard? What do you advice as starting bid? I can remember from my stay in the Westin last year that I have a view on the Doubletree. Thank you!
  4. Here an update using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. Started bidding at 90 and ended bidding at 115 USD. All the biddings are rejected. The current HOTWIRE price is 152 USD. I think about switching to HOTWIRE because of the smaller price difference (120 versus 152 USD) and the fact we prefer the Westin. Do you know why there are so few 4*wins in Jersey City the last month? Formerly once a week I saw a 4* win Thank you
  5. Hi The last weeks I don't see a lot of 4* wins for the Jersey City area. My favourite hotel is the Westin (because of the apple smell and the Newport Centre Mall right next door). On Hotwire the price is between 149 and 153 USD (2 adults / 1 child) using your PRICELINE link. A little bit high in my opinion. Could you advice me what is the best strategy for getting the Westin on Priceline and what will be my starting bid? I know that I can also get the Hyatt or the W but we prefer the Westin. Last year our winning bid in July was 85 USD for winning the Westin. Thanks Arno
  6. Using HOTWIRE I got the Sheraton Boston Hotel for 85 USD. Good deal. Thank you for the assistance
  7. Mon, Aug 2 to Fri, Aug 6 Boston, MA - 1 room, 4 nights, 2 adults, 1 child $ 84 Amenities: Smoke free rooms Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center High-speed Internet Access Tripadvisorrating 3,5 (If I change it in only 2 adults, I get an extra amenity: the bed choice 1 queen bed $95 2 double beds $95 Is this the same hotel?) I think that the $84 is a good price. Do you think that I get a much lower price with Priceline? Thanks for your help

Saturday we want to see the Inner Harbor area/Aquarium and sunday we are going to the Red Sox game (afternoon). After the game we drive to IAD. What are the pro's/contra's of staying in the BWI area and take the lightrail in stead of staying in the Towson/Hunt Valley area and take the lightrail? Thx!
  16. Would you identify the following hotel? July 20 - July 23 3* Greentree Parkwaycenter 61 USD Amenities: Shuttle Fitness Pool Restaurant Hi speed internet Tripadvisor 3 out of 5 40+ Nov 2008 I thought it could be the Holiday Inn, but this hotel is now "the Inn at Greentree" Thx
  17. Hi I have tried several biddings for a 4* Inner Harbor hotel using the permutation method. I started my biddings at 63 USD and ended with 89 USD. Later on I have tried the 3,5* and varied between 70 USD and 80 USD (using free rebid zones). We are arriving July 31 and departing August 2. Maybe the problem is that the Red Sox are in town. Could you advice me? My maximum bid is about 90 USD. Maybe I can drop our starlevel till 3*. If the Inner Harbor area doesn't work, which other area, is a good area to stay (maybe we can take the subway to the Inner Harbor area) Thank you
  18. My first time PRICELINE hotel!!! (using your link, of course) First bid $85 and directly accepted thanks to your advice. We are going with 2 adults and 1 kid of 8 years old. We know that there is a chance that we get a room with 1 bed. Do you advise us to contact the hotel directly for a room with two beds or an extra rollawaybed or can we better try it if we arrive in the hotel? Can I contact the hotel only by phone or also by e-mail? E-mail is easier for us (writing english is easier than talking english) By the way, we are going to stay in Jersey City and not in Queens. We are going to visit the Mets game by path train or bus and subway. Thanks Arno
  19. hi How do you find this hotel for 95 usd? Arriving July 29, departure July 31 I see a price of 100 usd on HOTWIRE Thanks!
  20. Regarding our planning, I think it will be better for us to stay in Queens. We arrive at about 4 pm in New York. The next day we are going to the Mets at noon. The following day we are driving to Baltimore. Do you think that our guess voor Holiday inn La Guardia is a good guess? The Holiday Inn La Guardia is in walking distance to both Citi Field and the subway Thanks
  21. Hi The hotels appears in the La Guardia Flushing zone. Budget is about 100 usd per night Thank you Arno
  22. Hi We (2 adults/1 kid) are coming from the north (Ithaca) by car and are staying 2 nights in New York. We arrive July 29 in the afternoon July 30 we are going to the Mets afternoon game and after the game we want to visit Manhattan by subway (We have been in Manhattan a few times). Hotwire has 2 hotels both 99 usd a night. 3 star with amenities (I think this is the Holiday Inn La Guardia?) shuttle fitness pool restaurant business center high speed internet access tripadvisor 4 (40+) 2,5 star with amenities ( I can't find which hotel this is) shuttle comp breakfast fitness center high speed internet access tripadvisor 3 (20+) Is it easy to reach Queens by car (we have GPS) from Ithaca? Do you think this is a good deal or can we better give it a try on Priceline? I saw that some people win the Holiday Inn at Priceline We think about staying in Queens or in the New Jersey area, what do you advise us? Thank you!!! Arno, The Netherlands
