Hum? Well, I've never stayed at the Hotel Derek and from the website, it looks like a nice hotel. Lowest cost room through their website is $189/night and it quickly jumps into the $200s.

To confirm, this is the Holiday Inn Select Gatway at 2712 Southwest Freeway. They have been remodeling and the property is looking much better. At this point the remodeling has not been a hinderance.

It's a great central locatoin just northwest of the corner of Hwy 59 (Southwest Frwy) and Kirby Dr. Parking is extra. Last time I was there they were remodeling the restaurant (6 months ago). Hopefully they have been remodeling the rest of the hotel. The property is a bit "worn" looking. As far as I could remember the rooms were fine.
