  1. thereuare, thx for the input, using the links on the site, I went back to price line and rebid on 2* at 45 and lost again. so with tail between legs, ended up going with the 2* express bid at $53 plus 5% fall5 promo. it was the rodeway inn and suites which I wasnt too thrilled about but fits my budget and I won't be at the hotel much anyways. would have loved the Doubletree but with parking fees would be a lil over $100 a night and was too much for me. thx again for all of the input, love this forum!
  2. tried a $60 bid for a 2.5* and did not get it. recommended an 82 bid which I declined. at this point I'd prefer the price point of a 2* but scared I will end up in a dump. which is why I would like to ID the 2* $51 express bid from priceline. what hotel do you think it could be?
  3. what do you think is a realistic price for a 2.5* with negotiator? on the flip side, what do you think this 2* express bid is and could I get that a little cheaper via the negotiator?
  4. Also tried bidding on 2.5* through the negotiator. first try was Anaheim disneyland area, 2.5*, $40, and was a no go. would love to book a 2.5* for ~$50 if possible. can anyone recommend a strategy to land this bid? thanks!
  5. Hi all, I found the following priceline express bid and was hoping you guys could help me ID it. Taking my daughter to Disneyland and plan to stay at a hotel from 10/24/-10/27. Star Rating: 2* Guaranteed Amenities: Free Breakfast Free Internet in room Outdoor Swimming Pool Free Parking Summary of Charges Price per night: $51 Rooms: 1 Nights: 3
  6. I updated my previous thread, had forgotten about it. My apologies.
  7. I ended up staying at La Quinta using the link provided for this stay. My dog liked it :)
  8. Hey guys, I have other people post bidding strategies where you bid 1 night and hope that priceline offers to extend the stay. Does priceline always offer the extend option? I am looking to stay in vegas 2/11-2/14, and I dont want to bid 1 night and not get the extend option. Can someone let me know if extending is always offered, or am I risking the length of my stay? thanks!
  9. ok, I just found out I will be needing to take my dog with me on this trip, so now I am looking to stay specifically at la quinta tropicana. is there any way I can increase my chances with my bidding strategy to get this hotel? Or am I better off reserving it specifically? small dogs stay for free at la quintas. any help would be great thanks!
  10. I was able to find a "promotion" through the luxor direct, even with this special pricing the cost 119 and 136 a night respectively. I guess I wouldnt be totally opposed to staying at the westin if it is significantly cheaper than these prices. how much do you think I could secure a 4* in the south strip through priceline? what would you recommend I start out at pricewise? PS I updated my old thread.
  11. I booked directly with the Holiday Inn right next to the santa monica boardwalk, 1 night stay was 279 a night, booked directly to make sure i secured that hotel.
  12. Hi, I am looking for a good deal for a stay in las vegas 9/18/09-9/20/09, would like to get the luxor or mgm grand. what would be the best strategy? would the westin be a problem in bidding for 4* in south strip? any advice appreciated.
  13. I think my max bid without taxes or fees would be 70 dollars. Yes a 3* would be fine, but the nicer the better of course. And yes this time my plans are FIRM, I will be staying in the LA area Saturday night, so I need to book this soon.
  14. I replied that thread, I didn't end up going to Vegas for July 4th so I didn't bid with priceline.
  15. I didn't end up bidding for the Vegas stay, so I have nothing to report on my bidding, sorry. I didn't go afterall to Vegas for July 4th.
  16. Hey guys, Im looking for bidding advise for a 1 night stay, check In july 18 and checking out July 19. I would prefer either Santa Monica area, or the Beverly Hills/Hollywood area as well. Budget is 70-90 dollars with tax. I'd be ok with 3* and above. what do you guys recommend?
  17. hey guys, I will be going to Vegas, looking to check in July 3, and checking out July 5. I'd like to stay either at the Venetian, Palazzo, or Wynn, and not Trump. I ran a search on hotwire, and a 5* is showing for 176 a night, and it looks like it could be one of the ones I want. I was wondering, if I were to bid through priceline, what strategy should I use and prices? I'd rather not book the Trump, but I know it cant be avoided, but Im willing to take the risk if I can book a 5* for lower than 176 a night. Any advice would be great! Thank you.
  18. Well I ended up getting the Hyatt Regency for 75 bucks a night through PRICELINE. I would have gone with the 86 dollar HOTWIRE deal, but didnt want to risk getting the clift, which looks cool but also looks TINY. I used the PRICELINE link on BB website too :) Does anyone know if there are any cheaper parking garages near the hyatt? I dont want to pay 30 a night for parking :) thank you!
  19. Actually, my intent is to get the best possible deal on a 4* in the SF area. I am now ruling out the airport, its too far away from the city. If I were to bid on priceline, what is the rock bottom deal for a 4* in the city? 75 a night? 70 a night?
  20. I want to check into a hotel in or around San Francisco through Hotwire for dates Feb. 13 - 15 2009. After searching on hotwire I have narrowed down to 3 hotels and would like to see if you can help me decipher what hotels they are. 1. 3* in Civic Center South - Hayes Valley Feb. 13-15 09. 55$ a night, total comes out to 131.10 for 2 nights and tax. amenities: fitness center, business center, laundry services, high speed internet access. 2. 4* in S. SFO Intl Airport - Burlingame Feb 13-15 09. 69$ a night, total is 163.00 for 2 nights and tax. amenities: airport shuttle, fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center, high speed internet access, and golf nearby 3. 4* in Union Square West Feb 13-15 09. 86$ a night, total is 204.60 for 2 nights and tax. amenities: fitness center, restaurant, business center, and high speed internet access I think the 3* is a holiday Inn, the 4* in USW is the Clift, and I don't have any idea what the 4* at the airport is. I don't believe its the Embassy Suites. Can someone help me figure these 3 hotels out for sure? Im leaning towards the 4* in USW. Thanks!
