  1. I tried 3.5* at $65 and was rejected. Rebid with 3* included and increased to $70 and was accepted by Four points Sheraton right at the Polaris and 71 exit. I think we got a good deal for the price. Room was advertised at $119. Room was nice. No complaints other than no ice machines were working. Would stay again at that price.
  2. We are traveling down I75 toward Florida. I can stop anywhere along that route within reason, northern would be better. Three star or better would be nice, I would love to do this for under $70 if possible. Just a place to sleep would be great, but the kids love spacious room with a couch. We love Hyatt Place and Hilton Garden (just for reference, I know we can't pick our hotel). Thanks, Rich
  3. We are driving to florida from ohio with a stop in Atlanta to rest overnight. I would like to find a 3* hotel for the lowest price. I dont know the city, so i dont know what zone to book and i dont know what to expect as far as Christmas Eve pricing goes. anyone have some advice? We will be traveling with 2 young children. Thanks, rich
  4. I rolled the dice with PRICELINE and bid $70. I got the Tradewinds Sandpiper Resort. Add $25 per night and I am at $95. Their website was $145 so I think I got a pretty good deal. I thought $70 was a low bid, I wish I would have started at $60, but I think it would have taken $70. Thanks for your help. Rich
  5. Yes, I see it. You can add Childrens Activities Program to the list. Thanks, Rich
  6. When I click "continue" it takes me to the sign in process. As I continue again it takes me to add features like insurance etc. It never gives me more information about the hotel. thanks, Rich
  7. It came up in the St. Pete Beach zone. One hotel came up as 3 star that was beachfront. I have 2 rooms with 3 adults. It is coming up as $80 with possiblity of $30 resort fee tacked on. I plan to use better bidding links. Thanks for your help. Rich
  8. My sister has decided to join us on this trip. Is it possible to find a 2 room suite on PRICELINE / HOTWIRE or should I just expect to book 2 rooms? Can you help identify a HOTWIRE hotel? It is 3 star, beachfront, fitness, pool, restaurant, business center, laundry, wireless internet, tennis nearby. $80 for my dates. Thank you. Rich
  9. I am looking for a beach hotel with a pool. I would like to spend $100 per night or less. Is this reasonable to expect for this time of year? Any advice on getting this room would be appreciated. Thanks, Rich
  10. Please advise. I am looking for a beachfront hotel with a pool for $100 max per night including resort fees. Your help is appreciated. This is a great site. Thanks, Rich
  11. We ended up with Royal Palm Hotel for $105 per night. Wednesday and Thursday night.
  12. This is the guide I was using for getting star ratings. I tried to use the method as described, but it appeared as though I was at the point where my card would be charged, and I still had not seen the star ratings. I am not sure how to proceed to the other two available zones.
  13. I started the process this morning. I went through the first wave of bids. It appears there are only 2 rebid zones. They must have added a 4 star someplace. I will wait 24 hours and start from where I left off. Thanks, Rich
  14. Here we go. I doubted that I could get a Resort for less than $65 so that is where I started. I went through the rebids until I got to $95 and bingo, I got the Omni Resort at Championsgate. There is a $12.50 resort fee, but that includes self park, internet and shuttles to Disney properties. Seems like a good deal to me. Thanks for the help. I will be doing South Beach next. Rich
  15. Yes, that is ok. I will make do. Thanks, Rich
  16. Price is probably more important. Least expensive 4* would be preferable.
  17. Ok, I guess the least expensive 4* would be best, regardless of beachfront. Resort is not necessary.
  18. I prefer Disney area. Epcot will be our focus. We have never been to Orlando.4* or resort,110 max bid.
  19. We are planning to go to Disney on November 18th and 19th. Then on to South Beach for 20,21, 22. In Orlando we hope to stay at a resort. $100 per night would be great. I would also like to keep it around $100 per night in South Beach. We are looking for 3* with a pool, preferably beachfront. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Rich
  20. We purchased some of Skybus' $10 airfare to Fort Lauderdale from Columbus, OH (11/16-11/23). We would be happy staying in South Beach I think, but I am thinking this might be a good opportunity to get to the caribbean from Ft. Lauderdale. I am thinking 11/17 to 11/22. We have done Western Caribean cruises and Eastern Caribbean cruises and prefer Eastern Caribbean (more clear water beaches). I am looking for suggestions of what Island we should target keeping airfare from Fort Lauderdale in mind. We could also fly out of Miami if there are any better deals from there. Once I decide which Island, I will come back for advice on bidding for a resort on the island. Thanks in advance.
  21. I get it now. I see the zones with the star ratings. Via Savings Barn link. I ended up starting at $55 and bidding up to $70. At $70 I was accepted at the Renaissance M Street Hotel. I checked their site and it is $109 a night. So $39 a night savings is pretty good. We are looking forward to it. Thanks for your help.
  22. Yes, I had read this previously. It is a bit confusing. It appears that I am to check the zone I am questioning. I would then have to enter a new price and press submit. Wouldn't I risk getting accepted into a zone? The way to check what star levels are available in each zone is to open a Priceline page (any priceline page? This is vague.), check ONLY the zone you are inquiring about, and then proceed to the next page( this requires me to enter a price and submit an offer). (as if you were going to select a zone)... this will give you the available star ratings in that area. You can then hit BACK on your browser, uncheck the current box, check the next box, and repeat the process. It is important to do this before EACH attempt at adding a zone that you really don't want, as new hotels can be added and the star ratings can change at any time. (NOTE: for most users Priceline has updated their interface making the above process easier... simply check a zone and note the highest star rating available within each zone, UNcheck that zone and checkmark the next zone, repeating the process)
  23. I am not clear on the re-bid zone part. It appears that all zones have 3* or better, so I can't add rebid zones without risking getting a hotel in a zone that I don't want. Am I making sense? Select 3* Downtown... Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $60, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 3* Georgetown... Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $60, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 3* Downtown and Georgetown... Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $70.
  24. I would like to do the following things. 1. Smithsonian 2. Vietnam Memorial 3. White House 4. Washington Monument 5. Museum of American History 6. Dinner in Georgetown That should do it. I guess I would like the Whitehouse/Downtown Zone or the Georgetown Zone. Taxi to Downtown from Georgetown would be fine. It looks like that might be a nice place to stay.
