  1. As I posted previously, the 3.5 star option is gone for Buffalo. I was hoping that the Marriott was dropped to a 3* and I would still get it for the same $60 everyone else has. I bid $55 plus five bonus dollars for a total of $60 and wound up with the Holiday Inn on Niagara Falls Blvd. With the Marriott no longer a clear option, I will not be using Priceline in Buffalo. Sorry - I did not use the link this time. Room $55.00 Taxes & Fees $17.27 Total $72.27
  2. Just went to make a bid for Buffalo, hoping to get into the Marriott and the 3.5 star category is gone.
  3. Does anyone know if the Marriott add's a resort fee when you check in on top of your Priceline winning bid? Thank you,
  4. I have used bonus cash a number of times in hotels that we have established baseline prices for wins (like my win in Rochester last week for $34 + $5 bonus cash knowing that the established base price is $39 for what I was bidding on). I don't think the bonus cash effects us in our bidding. Priceline makes their money in the fee's portion of the taxes & fee's.
  5. My first stay at this hotel. In the past I have gotten the Radison (which I like) via Priceline. Paid $34 (using $5 in Priceline money - so it really was $39) + $13.78 in taxes and fee's. Total cost $47.78. An outstanding deal. This is a nice hotel. I don't understand the previous complaints. Yes, I used the PRICELINE link!
  6. Started bidding at $40. Received reply asking to up bid to $55 for a room. I passed, added a free zone and upped the bid to $42 and received the LaQuinta. Nice hotel and a great deal for $42 I used the PRICELINE link. Room $42.00 Taxes & Fee's $11.83 Total One Night $53.83 (free parking & free breakfast & free internet)
  7. One night Jan 17, 2011 - Jan 18, 2011 $50 bid - $65.23 with taxes and fee's. With thanks to all of you that posted before me I was able to get this hotel at this rate on one nights notice. Yes, I used the PRICELINE link! This is a GREAT hotel and an incredible value at this rate and don't forget the free cookie at check-in!
  8. One night Jan 16, 2011 - Jan 17, 2011 $60 bid - $77.29 with taxes and fee's. With thanks to all of you that posted before me I was able to get this hotel at this rate on one nights notice. Yes, I used the PRICELINE link! This is a GREAT hotel and an incredible value at this rate.
  9. Liverpool - Onondaga Lake area Hotel Fitness Center Business Center Recommended in 95 % of Hotwire customer reviews One night - Nov 16th $49.00 Any idea what hotel this is? Thanks!
  10. There is a large furniture trade show (about 50,000 people) in Vegas that week which does not always show up on the convention calendar. As such, hotel rates are much higher that week than the week before or week after. ==================================================================== I have a Priceline question. If you bid on a 4 star can't you also get a 5 star? I would not want to bid on a 4 star north hoping for TI or the Mirage and wind up with Trump.
  11. I apologize in advance as I forgot to use the PRICELINE links to bid. I was hoping for the Hyatt. My first bid was $60 and received a counter off of $77 (add $17) I passed and added North Michigan Ave - River North and bid $65 (denied) Added Midway and bid $70 (accepted) 2 Nights $169.95 total ($140 + $29.95 taxes & fees)
  12. For those of you with future Hotwire reservations at the Wynn I would not be concerned. I just returned from a week at they Wynn ($89 a night). No problems at all. I made numerous requests (high floor, king, no smoking, etc) before I arrived. At check in they read them back to me and gave me a fantastic room. I also met a few other people at the Wynn this week who were also there through Hotwire. BTW - GREAT HOTEL!
  13. I called to re-confirm my stay next weekend and was given a different res # than the one that was printed on my resevation from Hotwire.
  14. I am staying the same dates. I have not received an e-mail from Wynn or Hotwire and I did call the Wynn yesterday to re-confirm. So far it seems to be a "major weekend" (Super Bowl & V-Day) thing.
