  1. Someone recently scored it for $200: Priceline Maui win
  2. I was a little surprised by this since I was expecting the Westin or the Sheraton, but can't complain! Tried at $121, rejected; added Kihei tried again at $123, rejected again. Added Kahului and was accepted at $124. Rack rate was around $300 so I'm very satisfied. Used the PRICELINE link to make my bid. P.S. I made an error in the topic title (winning bid was $124, NOT $146). Please fix!
  3. Hi guys, Just wanted to give an update. The dates for our plans changed and we were instead going to book the same hotel for Jan 1-3. Unfortunately when I went to purchase it earlier today, the hotel had sold out. I snoozed and lost it seems. If it goes back up for those dates and I'm able to purchase it (using the HOTWIRE link), I will update the thread. Thanks again for the help!
  4. Thank you! The $275 rate is a little exorbitant, but unfortunately with the Harry Potter crowds, Universal has started gouging its customers. I will update the board as soon as I make a successful booking!
  5. Update: I checked your dates and the rate has dropped to $219 a night.
  6. Ooops, I didn't know about the searches, will do so from now on. Yes, I'm willing to spend $275 if it's the Universal Portofino Bay hotel!
  7. Hi Guys. I could really use some help identifying this 5* star hotel in Universal Orlando - I-drive North area. For the dates of Jan 26-28, it shows up for $276 and with the following amenities: Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services Children's Activity Program I looked up the Hotwire list at the top of the thread, but couldn't find a 5* rated hotel in the Universal Orlando - I-drive North area. Thank you!
  8. Rejected $38, but accepted at $39. Reviews are a little iffy but can't complain for the price. :)
  9. Thank you! I looked under my confirmation and it indicates "Toronto Airport West"
  10. This booking was weird, I was expecting the Sheraton to be in the Airport East region. Either way, happy with the price! Also, used the PRICELINE link!
  11. I think the rating for the Hyatt has gone up to 95%.
  12. Used free bid zones and this was the lowest available rate to the dollar. Kicking myself for forgetting to use the PRICELINE link. :)
  13. Yes, tried them in Oahu. They are reputable, their site is very frequently referred to on tripadvisor forums as well. Once you reserve a car through them you'll receive a confirmation email from Thrifty/Avis/Budget (whichever one you decide to book with). I booked through their link for Thrifty (no underage driver or additional driver fees) and have reconfirmed my reservation for next week.
  14. Photobean, I'm glad you got a hotel, the Sheraton has great reviews on tripadvisor! For future reference, try "www.discounthawaiicarrental.com". It's cheap and you don't need a credit card to reserve (no issues with cancellation). Also if you have a Costco card, you can get a very good rate through the Costco Travel website.
  15. PRICELINE is usually 20% lower than HOTWIRE. That is very unusual. I also have a spare $50 off 3-day stay coupon for priceline. Let me know if you want it.
  16. Very nice rate for the 4.5 star Poipu. If I'm correct, that's the Grand Hyatt. Great price since I paid ~$350 for it. My tale of misfortune is somewhere on this thread. :)
  17. Hi Heddar, do you know which type of room you ended up with?
  18. They give out enough information on their website about the hotels that you can figure out their names. So for example there was only one 4.5 star rated hotel with an $18 daily resort fee in the Poipu area listed on their site. It's pretty easy to guess that it's the Grand Hyatt Kauai. Either way, the verdict is still out. I'm waiting on them to get back to me.
  19. Oops, you're right! Sorry! Golf, Tennis, Children's Activities, Spa, High-speed Internet are also there. The listing on this site is up to date, expect that the Grand Hyatt is back down to 4.5 stars from 5. Honestly, Hotwire's rating system seems very arbitrary to me, I prefer Priceline.
  20. Oh dear, that's a kick in the nuts. Thanks for the helpful input, people here are so much nicer than other sites. Didn't use the HOTWIRE referral link this time, but will make sure we do next time! And these are the amenities for the Grand Hyatt: Resort, Beachfront, Oceanfront, Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurants, Business Center, Laundry Facilities
  21. Well, I submitted my claim after speaking with the representative who wasn't too helpful. Lets see what happens!
  22. Have you tried before? I was thinking it couldn't hurt to ask, the potential savings are too good to pass up.
  23. Whoops, thanks for reminding me! I almost completely forgot, it's been a whirlwind week! It was booked earlier today so 48 hours shouldn't be a problem. I'll add the amenities here as soon as Hotwire site comes back up (they're doing some maintenance at the moment). Rest of the info is here: May 27 - May 31 $346 per night 2 Adult 4.5-star Resort in Poipu Grand Hyatt Kauai A little more background info. My gf originally booked the stay on Hotwire for me as a graduation present, but I fear she overpaid for it. I found rates at LastMinuteTravel.com for $270 for the same dates. If I can get them to honor the guarantee, it'll knock down the price to ~$200, which would be AMAZING!
  24. I have a stay booked at Hotwire at a hotel in Hawaii. However, I just found the same hotel available at another opaque website, LMT (lastminutetravel.com) for $70 less. Do you think that Hotwire would accept the claim?
