  1. Hi. I am looking at a 2.5 star hotel in Schaumburg for 1/13-1/14/07 for $53.00. The amenities are breakfast, pool and internet.

This is a special treat for me and my two sons (6 & 9). So we don't need a fancy place. I really want a place with an indoor pool so I'm not sure I'll be able to identify well enough to use hotwire. But the price sure makes me want to try.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  2. I forgot to post this before and figure better late than never....

Bid for 2 rooms at $28 each for a total $56. (With 7 ladies for a shopping trip this was $10 a piece)

We were thrilled. Got there and had perfect check-in, while another lady had wrong dates on her reservation and they didn't have a single room for her so they were calling other hotels to see if they had room. Also no problem getting rooms with 2 queen beds.

  3. Thanks for that info...what price would I expect to pay on priceline for cathedral hill? Can you still get around without a car easily?

We are planning on doing some sightseeing around N. Cal (redwoods, etc) and I was thinking of renting a car for 1-2 days. The original plan was to stay outside of the city and rent a car the whole time but the more I looked into it it seemed better to pay a little more, stay in the city and forgo the rental car expense.

  4. This is what I've tried and not gotten...

9-18 - 9-25 4* USE, USW, and all rebid areas up to $80

    9-19 - 9-25 4* USE and all rebid areas up to $75

    9-18 - 9-25 3* USE, FW and rebid up to $65 - $70 can't remember exactly :)

    9-19 - 9-25 3* USE, FW and rebid areas up to $68 (I think)

Is this a busy week? Am I just bidding too low, and if so what is a reasonable amount to expect? What about the SF south airport area? Is that a decent area to vacation? and if so what is a reasonable amount to expect to get there? We are not used to traveling high end so I don't have to have top of the line but don't want to get stuck with a yucky place either. I was originally looking at Homewood Suites S airport as a possibility - keeping with my under $100 - that was rack rate.

I'm starting to get worried and am wanting to have the lodging part of the trip taken care of. Any suggestions are appreciated - and any options other than priceline are appreciated as well if the priceline option doesn't end up working.

Thanks for all the help this board has provided me. I have learned TONS in the last few days.

  5. Can someone help me on this? I just read your posts and would like to understand. I have been trying to book on priceline and not having any success. We are looking for 9-18 to 9-25. I am not real stuck on any particular location, just want to make sure we are in a nice area that we can get around easily. I would like to stay under $100 a night. What you are talking about sounds great. Can you give me any feedback and how this entertainment thing works?

  6. I was just bidding and after not getting anything at USE 4* I went to try FW 3*. I started to enter in my bid - put a 6 in - a message appeared "based on recent data you have almost no chance of winning" or somthing to that affect. So I erased the 6 and put a 7 and got the same message. Took out the 7 and put an 8 and it appeared. What is that about? Is it thinking I was just going to bid $6 and not add anything else or is it something else going on? I hadn't gotten anything like that before when I was not getting a successful bid.
