  1. Well, I blew it. I waited too long and lost that great price of 99.00 per night on PRICELINE EXPRESS. That deal went up to 134.00. I should have taken your advice right away! So I started bidding at 80.00. Went through almost every zone raising it 2.00-3.00 per bid before they accepted my bid of 125.00. I saved a little, I will be in town for the Pitt vs. Penn State game, it will be a great time. All's good! I really like the Omni William Penn. It's a great hotel! Thanks so much for your help. I used the PRICELINE links here on the site. The amenities were listed as: Pet Friendly Non-Smoking Gym Restaurant Handicap Accessible Business Center
  2. Yes, I agree with you. I guess I am just curious about the hotel here. No worries. Now my husband just wants to stay Saturday if we can get a decent rate. So I am going to bid for Saturday through your PRICELINE link. Not sure if I can get even half off. Pricing certainly jumps over 300.00 for the same hotels on Saturday night. I will start a thread if I win a bid there. Thanks so much for your help.

  4. It may be another hotel. 5. Can you identify this hotel? I'm afraid because this is a big football weekend and all the hotels have jumped up their prices so I just want to make sure that I'm not missing something. I want to be downtown. Thanks for any help. The rate that is coming up on the Hotwire Hot Rate Hotel is 95.00 per night. Here are the listed amenities: Amenities Boutique hotel Business center Fitness center Internet access Pet friendly Restaurant(s) Accessibility Accessible for hearing impaired Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility 95% recommended
  6. Amenities: Pet Friendly, Free Parking, Business Center, Restaurant, Free Breakfast, Swimming Pool, Gym/Spa As far as a review, the resort was in a very nice setting. The free breakfast was outstanding and the customer service was terrific. The rooms were on the small side and needed a better cleaning but they were adequate. We only stayed one night as we were passing through so we weren't able to take advantage of their many amenities. I would stay here again.
  7. I tried bidding at 55.00 and went up the next day to 60.00, but Beckley has no rebid zones, so just decided to go with the Express deal which is not bad. The best thing is this is a suite with one bedroom and a sofa bed which is terrific since we are bringing my adult son on this jaunt. A great deal! They do add a 15.00 resort fee, but breakfast is included here so, I think it balances.
  8. Starting bidding at 80.00 and kept adding zones till they accepted at 165.00. There is a conference in town so I suppose that is why its so high, but that is 15.00 better than the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal so I am happy with it. I used your PRICELINE link.
  9. Decided to book a second room as the girlfriend weekend is growing. Used the same bidding strategy but went up 2.00 at a time. Won the bid at 73.00. With tax the total is 89.45. I must say, it is fun to bid! I used your PRICELINE link here.
  10. I started my bidding two days ago at 55.00 and went up 3.00 with every new zone. Stopped at 75.00 and waited till today to bid again. Saw the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal was 83.00 for what looked like the Westin, so I started at 65.00 and went till I got to 74.00 and they accepted. With tax the room is 90.62. This is a great deal for this hotel and I am very happy with the result. I did use your PRICELINE link here.
  11. They are offering a priceline express price of 127.00. So I decided to bid. Started bidding at 75.00 and they accepted when I reached 114.00. 24.79 in tax makes the grand total 138.79. I think this is a great deal for this hotel and Parent Weekend. Everything in Oakland is gone, but it's really not too bad of a ride from downtown to Oakland and it sure beats commuting to and from the burbs after long days. As always, I appreciate your help. It gives me a lot of confidence in bidding.
  12. Well, I waited too long and this deal went away. However, I did decide to bid on Price.line and I will share that win in the Priceline forum. Thanks again for all of your help.
  13. thank you for your help. That would be a good fit for family weekend at Pitt. If I decide to overnight I will use the links here and report it. I haven't decided yet since we will just be returning from vacation. Thanks again!
  14. Thank you for that tip! FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Boutique Hotel, Indoor pool(s), Fitness Center, Business Center, Self service laundry, Internet access and price is now 111.00 Here is an odd thing. There are two views in bidding helper. one is Hotwire and the other is Hotwire easy view. In Hotwire the hotel is still 107.00 but we can't read all the amenities. What i showed you above is the Hotwire Easy View. I am guessing these are both the same hotel, but I am wondering why the price is different.
  15. Do you think that you can identify this 3* hotel? They are asking for 107.00 a night for September 19th. The description is as follows.free internet, pet friendly, fitness center, business center... Thank you for any help.
  16. Hi again. I redid my bid. I had changed the dates on my original bidding to 12-14. When i didn't win a bid for those dates I decided to go back to the 11-13 because the prices were much better. When i bid this time, i won the Tradewinds Island Grand at 105.00 a night. So I saved a few bucks on the bidding and a lot of bucks changing my dates. Thanks so much for all of your help. Should I start a new topic with my win?
  17. Hello again, Thank you for the strategy. I tried this bidding strategy and did not win. Went up to 113.00 for a four star in St. Pete/Treasure Island. What can I try next?
  18. Then i would rather try for the 4 star in this area on priceline. on hotwire the areas are divided between st. pete and treasure island. the four star on treasure island is the don cesar or the tradewinds on priceline. i would love to get either of those.
  19. I don't think i want to exceed 125.00. Are either of these star levels attainable at that price point? And I am possibly changing that date to September 12-14 so that might make a difference.
  20. wow, sorry I didn't get back to you on this thread. I ended up changing my plans and stayed with friends in Tampa then making the drive over for the day. I believe I made that decision after I had started bidding and was rejected.
  21. What do you think would be a good starting bid for a 3.5-4 star hotel in St. Pete/ Treasure Island for Sept 11-13, 2014? Can you also give me a bidding strategy? Thanks for your help.
  22. Thanks tripper. I won't be renting a car so I will need easy access. the bonus will be no parking fees. I know about the resort fees. it is my hope to get something low enough so that won't matter.
