I think I would have made a different choice though.
  6. Not a lot of information regarding Gettysburg on this forum, so here's a new one. Econo Lodge 2* Free Breakfast I haven't stayed in a motel in over 30 years; in fact I've avoided them like the plague. Chose this over a similarly priced 3* due to Hotwire Rating 90% vs 75% - I thought no way would a motel be rated 90%. Reviews all say how clean the place is but the breakfast is minimal, we'll see. I will post after our stay.
  7. Just booked through Better Bidding. Last minute weekend getaway; Sept 14-15, 2 adults, 2 kids, 1 room. $59.00 for the night. Great hotel, great location. Keystone - Carmel area hotel 4* Amenities: Free Parking Pet friendly Indoor pool(s) Smoke Free Rooms Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower
  8. Quick follow up: Positives: Location, parking, staff, free popcorn, pool Negatives: Badly needs updating, 27" tube TVs, smoke smell, old mattresses, skimpy breakfast selection. For the price, not bad. There are better alternatives.
  9. Just booked a room at Bridge Point Hotel in New Bern, NC on 6/15-16/13 for $71, with tax $86. 2 adults, 2 kids. 2.5 Stars Free breakfast Business center Tennis nearby Golf nearby Looks like it's an older Ramada converted to private owners. Great location. Will follow up after stay.
  10. This trip has gotten pushed back 2 weeks. I will post what I find then.
  11. No additional amenities listed. I did forget to mention that it is 4 stars.
  12. I'm usually good at identifying these by myself, but this one's got me stumped. Dec. 14-16 2 rooms 2 adults each $97.00 per night Fitness Center Business Center High-Speed Internet Access 90% Recommended by Hotwire customers I'm thinking & hoping for the Amalfi but the Pinned List is pretty jumbled now with all the changes Hotwire has been making.
  13. Quick follow up: Hotel just off the main drag, south of downtown, decent location. Hotel is new Fall 2011 and looks it. Rooms were larger with the expected basics plus a fridge. B-fast was simple but fresh.
  14. Just won The BEST WESTERN PLUS Riverside Inn & Suites in New Bern, NC for 6/2-3/2012 @ $87 per night Amenities: High-Speed Internet Access 3 Stars 95% Customer Rated Best Value Not currently on the Pinned List. Used the HOTWIRE link as always.
  15. A follow up: The hotel is in great shape. New carpets, curtains, and mattresses. The pool area is nice and the breakfast is typical for a basic continental. Great location with many excellent restaurants close by. A good choice.
  16. To follow up on the Seneca. Was upgraded to a 2 queen Presidential Suite simply by joining their online VIP club. The room was on the top floor and was massive! The kids are now spoiled to anything less - I'm in for trouble. The furniture was a bit saggy in the living room, but everywhere else was fine. The breakfast (which we got to go) was big enough to share. The staff and location were top notch. I will be looking for this hotel again!
  17. Booked the La Quinta Inn for July 23-24 for $48/night, 2 adults, 2 kids. Amenities: Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool(s) Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Was expecting the Holiday Inn Express but just staying a night, I'll follow up on the condition of the hotel; they claim to be newly renovated.
  18. Took a look around at some of the options on Hotels.com and found the Seneca Hotel on Chestnut next to the Hancock Tower for $165/night for a basic 2 doubles room. Went to Senecahotel.com and booked a 2 Queen deluxe suite with full kitchen for $160/night including breakfast for 4 each morning. I read that they also have priority seating arranged at Giordanos allowing you to jump to the head of the line. The only question I have is - Where is the cheapest, close parking? We tend to park the car and walk or taxi everywhere. Thanks for everything AaronJB, I'll follow up on our experience when we return.
  19. Hello all, Getting ready to do another trip to Chicago for pleasure, with the kids this time. A little help needed ID'ing this one. June 23-26 2 adults 2 kids under 17 $137 / night Magnificent Mile Area - Streeterville area hotel Boutique hotel, smoke free rooms, fitness center, restaurant(s), business center, HPIA Recommended in 95% of customer reviews I'm guessing Hotel 71 on E Wacker; any thoughts? Thanks in advance
  20. Just booked (through the HOTWIRE link on this site) the Holiday Inn Express Downtown Indy for 7/3-5/2010 for $55 per night; 2 adults, 2 kids. Nice, basic hotel across from Lucas Oil Stadium, stayed here before. If you're a light sleeper, ask for an even numbered room, less traffic noise. Amenities: Comp b-fast, Fitness ctr, business ctr, Pool(s), laundry, high-speed internet, golf nearby, tennis nearby great place to stay to be close to the fireworks!
  21. Wanted to do a follow up to my stay. Parking, always a problem in Chicago and valet is $48/night (I believe); for $24/24hr you can park in the NBC lot catty-corner from the hotel (southwest). Open air, but after 2 nights, you can save enough for a decent lunch.
  22. Love to grab a late lunch at Fox and Obels, something about a grocery store you can eat at....Nui is right next door to the hotel and has killer Pad Thai noodles and decent sushi. I, of course, used the HOTWIRE link at the top of the page!
  23. And Aaron, thanks for all your advice regarding Chicago to all my fellow travelers. I browse the other posts to get ideas for our trips!
  24. 3.5* $ 99 per night Suite Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access Got it again, love the location, service, breakfast, manager's reception
  25. Booked it! Through this site of course. Embassy Suites Downtown Lakefront 511 North Columbus Drive, Chicago, IL, 60611 Stayed here before - phenomenal hotel! Thanks for your help! :)
