  1. Getting a hotel this weekend in downtown Chicago was nuts. Total was $263.14. Bid up to $220 for 4* with no luck For 3.5* bid $200 and was rejected and $220 was next bid and was accepted, so there might be a little room in-between for a win. The best Hotwire price was $254 plus more taxes & fees. Used site's PRICELINE link!
  2. Thu, Jul 1, 2010 - Sat, Jul 3, 2010 2 adults Amenities Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access I have posted 3 wins for this weekend at this hotel using PRICELINE & HOTWIRE. It is nice when it all works out!
  3. Check-In Date: Sat, Jul 3, 2010 Check-Out Date: Mon, Jul 5, 2010 Used PRICELINE link!
  4. 2 rooms Check-In: Sunday, July 4, 2010 Check-Out: Monday, July 5, 2010 Won on first bid of $67. Used your PRICELINE link as always!
  5. So there are two downtown Indianapolis hotels for $69. The 4 star has bed choice, fitness, restaurant, internet, & business center The 3.5 has fitness, pool, restaurant, internet, & business center Any idea what they are and thoughts?
  6. I was looking for a cheap hotel room for this Saturday. at 4* Bid $50 for Greater Chicago - rejected added Millenium Park - The Loop - Grant Park and bid $53 - rejected added North Michigan Ave - River North and bid $55 - accepted for Greater Chicago region I didn't even get to my free re-bid zones! I am happy with the win, I have stayed at this hotel before and like the location. I had been looking at it on Hotwire for $82 so this is just icing on the cake. Used the PRICELINE link as always!
  7. I ended up splitting the dates and using Hotwire. I wanted to share my unsuccessful attempts for future bidders. For the dates of 5/27-6/1, 5* North I bid up to $140, in $2 increments. (Today, Hotwire had Venetian for those dates for $156.) For the dates of 5/30-6/1, 5* North I bid up to $87 in $2 increments. I decided to get the Venetian for $99 for those dates from Hotwire because I could guarantee the hotel choice. I will share my wins on the hotwire forum.
  8. Hi, I am planning a trip with my sister who has never been to Vegas. Her dates are 5/27-6/1. So far I have bid up and been rejected at $125 for a 5* North for all 5 days. I am not surprised as this is a holiday weekend. Hotwire has the Venetian for $172 for those dates. Expedia also has the Trump for $125 for those dates. I am willing to split the days into 2 hotels. Possibly I could get one of the PL 5* North for Sunday & Monday (5/30 & 5/31) and get a 3.5*+ for the other three days. I want to make sure we stay in a 5* for at least part of the time and the other hotel I would like to be one of the Vegasy hotels such as NYNY, Paris, Luxor, MGM, etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated as I work on this!
  9. Thank you both for your responses. I realized that in my haste of posting I listed the wrong date, I am looking for 5/22-5/23 (I can't seem to change my title now though). That is a Saturday night so things are much more expensive. Bid 4* Fremont & Boulder Strip $57 - Rejected added NW Las Vegas $60 - Rejected added Nellis $63 Rejected The Hotwire price has gone down from $99 to $93, however, I also keep getting countered by PL for $83, so I know that is the worst I can do. Will update tomorrow.
  10. I am going to stay at the GN that night, it is just a matter of how low I can get it. Started today: Bid 4* Fremont Vicinity $50 Countered with $83, declined (but already better than Hotwire
  11. Before I go into my win, I wanted to help improve the Priceline list for Fort Wayne, IN. When bidding on Priceline for Fort Wayne you have two bid zones: "Fort Wayne" (more of the downtown area)and "Southwest Fort Wayne" (more of the Fort Wayne airport area). Right now you only have 2 "Fort Wayne" hotels listed. So here is your first "Southwest Fort Wayne" hotel. I was trying to get a hotel near the airport for 2/15. Bidding went as follows: 3* $40 2.5* $41 3* $45 2.5* $45 2* $43 = win Got Comfort Suites Ft. Wayne for $43. Used the PRICELINE link, really appreciate this site!
  12. Using free re-bid zones, I bid $45, $50, & won at $55. Total was $133.80 (for those dates on their site the cheapest room was $115/night). Used the PRICELINE link. Thanks!
  13. Thanks for the info. As soon as I went back the price had jumped $20 for the same search! I ended up using priceline and got The Carolina Inn for $55 a night (I will post in the priceline forum).
  14. Searching for 1 person, 01/24 & 1/25. Amenities: Restaurant, Business, & Internet only TripAdvisor rating of 4/5 Any guesses?
  15. 3.5* Cleveland (Downtown) for 2 persons. Doubletree Hotel Cleveland Downtown/Lakeside Stayed Jan 8th & 9th (Fri & Sat). Listed Amenities: Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry Total with taxes & fees: $130.52 Booked using the HOTWIRE link. I would stay there again, nice room & location. The hotel was very empty. Parking with in & out was $16 day. My question is: I choose to book this property because it had a pool (the 4* did not). However, upon arrival we were informed that the pool was out of order and would be through our stay and beyond. Is there any hotwire guarantee regarding this? Thank you!
  16. Dates: 11/5/09-11/6/09 Started bidding 3.5* Williamsburg (Center-Outlets) at $45 -> Rejected Added Free re-bid Zone of Williamsburg (Busch) at $50 -> Rejected Closed the window and re-opened Bid $45 for 3* Williamsburg (Center-Outlets) Won the Holiday Inn Historic Gateway I actually had initially been targeting this hotel at 3.5*, later realized it was a 3*. It is the highest ranked Tripadvisor Williamsburg hotel so I am very pleased. Used the PRICELINE link. Thanks!
  17. Just to follow up. Thank you for all the tips, that Expedia deal could have worked really well for us. I looked up the place you mentioned and all the reviews said it was awesome if you got a renovated condo but horrible if you didn't. Since the resort's website had the same Expedia deal pricing I called them to see if they could guarantee a renovated room. They wanted to charge another $80 a night for that guarantee. I decided to stay two nights at Kingsmill where the wedding is taking place. I used your PRICELINE link to win an awesome hotel/deal in Williamsburg for our first night. I will post my win at the priceline forum. Thanks!
  18. Check in Date is 11/06 out is 11/08 $89 Ammenities: Suite, Boutique, Fitness, Pool, Internet, Tennis, Kitchenette 2 people, 1 room 3.5/5 Tripadvisor rating We are going to a wedding at Kingsmill Resort that weekend for one of my husband's college buddies. I would like a happy medium btwn him being able to hang out with his friends and my sister and I visiting Colonial Williamsburg. Any guesses on this property? Thanks!
  19. Check out my journey to this win in my other Priceline winning bid post. I began with a 4* bid Greater Chicago Area at $67 for Saturday night (10/10) and won! Total was $84.76 Used the PRICELINE link! Thank you!
  20. First off, thank you for all the help. Your advice led me to these two great deals. I will follow up on my second bid in separate post but I figured I would show all the pieces of the puzzle in this thread. I first tried $110 for 3.5* for both nights with no luck. On the recommendation, I bid $67 for a 4* on the Friday night only (10/9). First bid was accepted for Millennium Park, Loop & Grant Park Area and I won the Hyatt Regency Chicago (total was $84.76). Since Saturday morning was the only committed time I needed to be downtown, I toyed with going home Sat evening (3 hour train ride) or other areas/activities I could stay/do. Reading the Tripadvisor reviews, I decided to target the 4* Hyatt Regency Mccormick Place. This way we could visit the Soldier Field, Shedd Aquarium, Adler Planetarium, and the Field Museum or use 3 transit options if we decide to go downtown on Sunday. Apparently, the hotel has an hourly shuttle to downtown, a cab ride is ~$15, or the #3 bus stops near the hotel. I will be sure to report back on how this worked out. I began with a 4* bid Greater Chicago Area for $67 for Saturday night (10/10). Usually, I am bummed if my first bid is accepted when I have free re-bid zones, but I just can't believe I got it. Total was $84.76 Total for the 2 nights was $170. Thanks again, used the PRICELINE links!
  21. Thanks for the advice, my bid was initially based on bond316
  22. I started off (with your PRICELINE link) bidding $69/night for Friday and Saturday, it was rejected and nothing was even offered. Is there a free zone for re-bidding or do I need to wait 24 hours? If so what do you all think should be my next bid? How are the 3.5* in the areas? I would really like to stay under $200 for the two nights to have more money for Jersey Boys tickets! Thanks.
