1. I used the Better Bidding PRICELINE link to get a 3 star room near the Dallas Galleria (zone 16). I started by checking prices at PRICELINE EXPRESS--they had a 3-star room in my zone at $60. So I started at $45, and Priceline countered at $63. I didn't accept--went back and added zone 4, bid $50, rejected. Added zone 5, bit $55, and got the Crowne Plaza. I have stayed there a dozen times in the past three years with my company. Great hotel! Great bedding, clean rooms, nice people. Love the rooftop pool and super-sized hot tub. Very pleased.
2. I started at $120, and went up in $5 increments & added a zone (with no 4* hotels) with each bid rejection. Used all 9 rebid zones and had to start over in a new window. I was hoping for less than $190, but it is still way less than the Hilton website price of $330+. Looks like a great hotel & I want to say, every Hilton I have ever stayed at has been wonderful, so I'm glad to have gotten this one. Downside--$45 daily valet parking!!! No self-parking--Ouch! Thanks for being there again, Better Bidding!
3. I just needed one room for one night. For a romantic date, so looking for 4*. Started at $65, and re-bid in $2 increments, adding a new zone each time. Plenty of zones in San Antonio with no 4* hotels, so I got there in 10 bids. I thought it would be cheaper, because Priceline.Express was offering an $85 deal in my zone for a 3.5* hotel, but... $85 still beats the Omni's online rate of $200.
4. Bidding for a 3* hotel. Started at $45, no deal. Priceline countered with $59. Added a zone with no 3* hotels, re-bid $48, no deal. Added a zone with no 3* hotels, re-bid $51, no deal. Added a zone with no 3* hotels, re-bid $53, deal! Here's the bummer: traveling with my dad, and he needed to stay one more night than me. I know you can add add-on nights at the same price with Priceline, but I never knew you had to do it for ALL rooms in your reservation. So I had to re-bid for the third night for one room only. I hoped to get the same hotel, BUT ended up at the damn Hyatt Place Dallas North (and had to bid up to $61). I'm sure it's a fine hotel, but Dad will be unhappy he has to change hotels. Argh! Good deal though, and a nice hotel--I have stayed there a couple of times before. Nice hot tub & pool area. Hope they have finished the remodel by now.
5. First bid was $55, Priceline rejected. Priceline countered with $69, I declined. I added SW Waco as a safety (no 3 star hotels there), and re-bid $61, which was accepted. Price with taxes for 2 rooms/2 nights came out to $287.64, which comes out to $$71.91 per night. I have stayed there before, and it is a nice 3-star hotel (though it has been over 10 years, I used to get this hotel for $50 on Priceline).
6. First bid was $40, Priceline countered $50. I went back and added Lubbock--South zone and kept it at 3 stars, went up to $45. Got it. Have stayed here before, older hotel but nice, friendly, clean. Holiday Inn always has nice bedding.
7. Bid $60 for 4 stars--it came back with $69. I passed & changed star level to 3.5 (the Sheraton was the only 3.5) and kept it at $60. Thanks betterbidding!
8. I was shooting for CPS/TS/MTW. I bid through all the free areas unsuccessfully yesterday morning, going from $105 start to $145 finish. Tonight, sat down and my starting bid for CPS/TS/MTW was $148--accepted! Taking my mom to NYC for her 70th birthday--we live in Texas and she has never been. I really wanted 2 beds, and called the Sheraton, they said no problem--we are all set. I was hoping to get a lower price (as always), but the range on the calendar was $130-200, so I was happy to get under $150. Thanks for this site--I always check here first & always use your link to PRICELINE!
9. $40 on the first bid, same as last week. Would have tried lower, but I needed the room for tonight--no time for re-bidding..
10. Yep, I just bid on priceline $40 for 10/10 to 10/12 and got the same hotel on the first bid. Thanks for your post!
11. Thanks to the last priceline bidder who posted his winning bid of $42! I won with my first bid of $40. Maybe the next bidder will get it for less?
12. Started at $35, rejected Increased to $38, added Sand Lake, rejected Increased to $41, added Kissimmee, rejected Increased to $44, added Winter Garden, accepted at the Wyndham 4 nights, 2 rooms, subtotal $352 Priceline added taxes & fees $57.92 Total paid $409.92 Wyndham's website has a $69 prepaid rate for these dates, so I think we got a good deal. Orlando, here we come!
13. 3* Houston (Galleria) Aloft, $48 ... 12/14/09-12/15/09 Needed a room for tonight--last minute Started at 4* - $37, rejected Added 3.5* - $43, rejected Added 3.0* - $48, accepted Haven't been to the Aloft before--their web price for tonight was $127
14. The hotel list for a 3* showed Crowne Plaza and Residence Inn only for Little Rock West. I bid $41 for 3 rooms for 2 nights, Priceline came back with "if you increase by $12..." So I did, and got the Courtyard. The regular rate at the Marriott website was $80, so don't know that this is a great deal... Looks okay, might not really be a 3*, we'll see.
15. Bid $45 for a 4* downtown, rejected Added 3* same price, rejected Added 2.5* (none in downtown zone), increased to $55, accepted at the Doubletree
16. Bid $75 for a 5* Strip North, rejected Up to $80, added Airport, rejected (got a counter-offer for $108) Up to $85, added Fremont St, rejected Up to $90, added Henderson, rejected Up to $95, added West of Strip, rejected Up to $100, added Convention center, accepted.

Bid $75 for a 4* downtown--rejected Bid $80, added cityline area--rejected Bid $85, added trevoise area--rejected Bid $90, added glouchester area--ACCEPTED 3 rooms for 2 nights Total price for 6 room/nights w/tax & fees $636.42
