  1. Hotel Amenities: Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access There weren't any accessible amenities listed for this property.
  2. Amenities: Business center,Fitness center,Internet access,Pool(s),Restaurant(s) I got the Doubletree Hotel Chicago Magnificent Mile, 90% Recommended. I've never stayed in this zone, but the price was right, so I figured I would give this a shot. Portillo's is a half a mile away and Lou Malnati's is only a little further, so I know I will be eating well!
  3. There are no other amenities or accessible amenities listed. I was hoping the property was the Best Western and I got lucky. :) Comparable hotels in that price range had less stars and many bad reviews.
  4. 95% Hotwire satisfaction rating Amenities: Free breakfast Fitness center Pool(s) Business center Self-service laundry Golf nearby Tennis nearby
  5. Got a great deal on this room for $128. Voted 95% Loved It on Hot.wire. Amenities: Free Internet Boutique Hotel Near Beach Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Internet access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Additional amenities in the confirmation window: Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower
  6. I booked the Swissotel for $136 a night. It was advertised elsewhere for $200 a night so I consider it a good deal! Thank you :)
  7. Well it looks like my trip is back on. It's not worth the $400 in flight change fees. I am looking at a 4* Downtown Chicago - Millennium Park - Grant Park area on Hotwire for $136 a night. 95% of people like it. Amenities are: Indoor pool(s),Fitness CenterPool(s),Restaurant(s),Business Center,Internet access,Tennis Nearby,Spa Services,Accessible for the blind,Accessible for the deafAccessible path of travel,In-room accessibility,Accessible bathroom,Roll-in shower Any idea on what property this is?
  8. Thank you for the feedback above! I don't have any particular hotels in mind. Just something in the Loop/Mag Mile/Theatre district would be good. I saw prices in the low hundred range and that would be good. My last visit I enjoyed the Hyatt on the river. Since my last post, I realized my trip might not happen due to having attend a wedding that weekend. Now it all depends on if I can change from flight dates without paying an arm and a leg....but that is a whole other issue. ;)
  9. I am planning on a weekend trip to Chicago from Friday, Nov. 29th-Sunday, Dec. 1st. The rates seem reasonable that weekend on Hotwire, especially for a holiday weekend too. Do you think it's best to book now or wait for an even better deal closer to the travel dates?
  10. Just booked the Avalon for $155 a night. :) It featured all the amenities listed above. I purchased if for $155 using the betterbidding HOTWIRE link. As always, thanks for your help!!
  11. The Avalon sounds like a good option at well. Last night I tried my luck with the PRICELINE link from your site. My bids were rejected. I started with 4.5* at South Beach - Ocean Drive for $90. I then bid up to $115 for a 4* in the Dadeland, North Miami, Southwest Miami, Aventura, South Beach - Collins Avenue Oceanfront, and South Beach - Ocean Drive zones.
  12. Thank you for your feedback! I had never used the BiddingHelper.com tab. There are more amenities. The ones I see now are: Free Internet Boutique Hotel Oceanfront hotel Smoke Free Rooms Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Internet access Tennis Nearby Accessible for the blind Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower
  13. I am currently looking at a 3* hotel on Hotwire in the South Beach Ocean Drive area. The amenities don't line up with the ones in the Hotwire list. I see a couple that are close, but wanted your feedback before pulling the trigger. Here is the property info: $147 per night. Standard price slashed was $227. 85% recommended by 91 reviews. Amenities: Free Internet Boutique Hotel Oceanfront hotel Smoke Free Rooms Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Internet access Tennis Nearby Thanks in advance!
  14. I just returned from a fantastic stay at the InterContinental. I requested a room away from the elevators and I was given a nice corner room. They also gave me a free upgrade to a deluxe room. I arrived on Friday afternoon just before the snow storm hit. Because the hotel is centrally located to so much, I had no problems getting around with the snow. I went to the recommended Ess-A-Bagel two times! When I went in and saw a decent size line, I knew it had to be good. I'll try to find this property again through betterbidding on a future trip to NYC. :D
  15. I booked the InterContinental The Barclay through hotwire for $142.00 a night. That hotel has some specials going on right now, but I haven't seen it anywhere for that low. Amenities: Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Tennis Nearby Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower Thanks for your help better bidding! :)
  16. Well, I decided to go with hotwire because of the 90% thumbs up rating. I got the InterContinental The Barclay for $142.00 a night. Thanks for all the help on this board!
  17. Yes, it is Midtown West. It is Midtown Central on HOTWIRE, so I get them mixed up. The $112 hotel was gone by the time I looked...so I did a little bidding for the room today and they were rejected. I had more re-bid zones but the site was being very slow and I didn't have much time. Ideally, I would like to stay under $125. But if the property is nice, I'll pay more. The Rejected Bids and Zones on Jan. 9th: 4* Midtown East $90 4* Midtown East, Midtown West $95 4* Midtown East, Midtown West, Coney Island $100 4* Midtown East, Midtown West, Coney Island, Times Square $105 4* Midtown East, Midtown West, Coney Island, Times Square, Morningside Heights - Harlem $110 Thanks again! I am using the PRICELINE / HOTWIRE links. I hopes it shows up as so.
  18. Sorry about the confusion. I would like to stay in the MTE, MTC or Times Square areas. I would like to stay around $120 - $125 if possible. Here is my bid history from Sunday below. I've only bid that one time so far. Rejected Bids: 4* Midtown East $90 4* Midtown East, Coney Island $95 4* Midtown East, Coney Island, Long Island City $100 4* Midtown East, Long Island City, Coney Island, Morningside Heights - Harlem $105
  19. I didn't purchase the hotwire hotel yet. I've decided to try bidding again. Originally I started using the strategy that Flying dutchmen used (below), but then I chickened out as the star ratings started going up. I'm adding Times Square to the area I'd like to stay, it's close enough to where I want to be. Can you help with a new strategy? Thank you :) Previous strategy: 4. Coney island has 1-2 stars 8. Long island city has 1-3 stars 9. Lower east side has 1-3 and a half stars 13. Morningside heights has 2-3 stars 14. Queensborough bridge has 2-3 stars 17. Upper east side has 2-3 stars
  20. I'm seeing the one for $138 in MTE, the other appears to be gone. It has a 90% thumbs up symbol.
  21. Either one of these properties looks pretty good for $138 or $143. The only difference I see in the amenities is that the $143 hotel has "handicapped parking". Hotwire has: 4* Midtown East $138 Amenities: Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Roll-in shower Bathroom has a roll-in shower or 4* Midtown East $143 Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower
  22. HOTWIRE has a 4* Midtown East room for $138.00 a night. It has a 90% Hotwire thumbs-up rating, which I like. When looking at the hotel list, it could be a number of them. Any ideas as to what this one might be?
  23. Thanks, I didn't know it was during the same time as Fashion Week, so good to know why the prices are higher. I'd like to stay in Midtown because I have friends staying at a another hotel in that area. I will keep trying and let you know how it goes. :)
  24. I'm going to be in the NYC area Feb. 8th for a long weekend trip. I prefer to be in the midtown area, whether it be east or west. I'd like my max to be $125 if possible. My bids were rejected today. The bid history is below. I get a little nervous bidding in areas I don't want with the higher star area. I worry that a hotel might have gotten bumped up a star and it just isn't advertised yet. I'd appreciate any advice for successful bidding. Rejected Bids: 4* Midtown East $90 4* Midtown East, Coney Island $95 4* Midtown East, Coney Island, Long Island City $100 4* Midtown East, Long Island City, Coney Island, Morningside Heights - Harlem $105
  25. How did your bidding go? Did you get rejected at all? I'm looking for a similar deal (and the Roosevelt would be great) for 2/8 to 2/12. Priceline has stars for "Best deal" next to Midtown East and 4-Star Deluxe, so I'm wondering if it's the same property.
