  1. When I go to HOTWIRE >> My Account >> My Trips I am getting an error message that reads "hmm something went wonky". The give away for this hotel is that HOTWIRE states in the description that the hotel is "0 miles away from Hard Rock Casino." All the big hotel online discount sites are selling this hotel for $227-$238 pp/pn and the hard rock is selling my dates for $299 pp/pn, so I feel happy with this bid. Resort, Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Golf, Spa, Free Parking, Pet Friendly As always, thank you better bidding!
  2. Bid $83.00 San Juan Resort Area. Priceline came back and said if I increased my bid by $25.00 I could rebid immediately. I increased by $13.00 and received error message saying I had to increase $25.00 Rebid at $108 and was accepted. Came to $128.14 with taxes. Thank you once again Better Bidding! Cheryl
  3. Thanks yellowdog, I didn't realize all requests for the same day went in the same thread too. I figured this was the Sheraton also. I will be sure to reply with where we end up. Much appreciated :)
  4. San Juan 4* April 9 and 10 $91.00 listed as "Over 30% decrease" There is a "Bed Preference" icon on the hot wire main page Recommended in 90% of reviews Amenities (I clicked all): Casino Smoke Free Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Center Internet Golf Nearby Spa TIA, Cheryl
  5. Thank you, after researching the Verdanza we have elected to pass on this particular property. Will be using site to continue the search. TY
  6. Sorry. Forgot about the searches too. I clicked on the link........ a few times :) I would add to my first post that this 3.5 states: "We are still gathering reviews for this property" and has a trip advisor rating of 4 star. To recap: Hotwire. 3.5 star $129.00. April 9 "we are still gathering reviews for this property" Trip Advisor 4 star Amenities: Near Beach Smoke Free Fitness Pools Restaurant Business Center Laundry High Speed Tennis Nearby Childrens Activity Program* TIA, Cheryl :)
  7. Hotwire. 3.5 star $129.00. April 9 Following Amenities: Near Beach Smoke Free Fitness Pools Restaurant Business Center Laundry High Speed Tennis Nearby* Childrens Activity Program* *last two items appear w/ 'show all' amenities. The childrens Activity Program Icon is throwing me. Any suggestions? TIA, Cheryl :)
  8. Initially bid $37. Bid was rejected but offer made to increase my bid by $10.00 to secure property. I declined offer and added the 2.5* (which is the Hilton Garden Inn and a very nice hotel) increasing my bid to $42. Bid was accepted. Thank you Better Bidding, Cheryl :)
  9. 3* Seattle (Downtown/Pikes Place) July 21-26 $149.00 Amenities: No Smoking, Fitness, Pool, business center, laundry, internet Customer Satisfaction 85% Trip Advisor: 4/5 TIA, Cheryl :)
  10. Was able to successfully ID the Sheraton Old San Juan. Date: April 3-5 Amenities: Casino, Fitness, Pool, REstaurant, business center, High Speed Internet, & Tennis Cost: 119.00 per night. Total for 2 nights with taxes: $267.00 Note: This is the weekend preceeding Easter Break, so things are a bit more expensive. Great Site, Thanks! Cheryl :)
  11. Thank you. I booked using your HOTWIRE link :-). We really wanted this particular hotel, so I didn't want to mess around with PRICELINE (where we might have saved a little more), but were willing to take a little risk because the amenity match was perfect. Hotel is pricing at $189.00 at Hotels.com and close to $300 on the Sheraton site, so we are happy. This is the weekend preceeding Easter Break for a cruise stay, so everything is a more expensive. Sheraton Old San Juan April 3-5 $119.00 per night Total with taxes = $267.76 Thanks Again!!
  12. Date: April 3-5 Amenities: Casino, Fitness, Pool, REstaurant, business center, High Speed Internet, & Tennis Cost: 119.00 per night Thank you in advance! Cheryl :)
  13. Thank you so much for the strategy and your time. At the last minute, we chose a cruise departing from San Juan. I'll be using this site (and the links) to find a pre cruise stay in San Juan
  14. Hi Again :) My first thought was to bid both zones, 4 star properties only. See what I can get in/around the $130 mark. If I'm unsuccessful, I will try another bidding strategy reducing my maximum bid below the $130.00 mark. Make sense? Cheryl
  15. Thanks for helping! 1) I understand and promise not to whine should I end up with a hotel/resort not on the 'list'. I did see the Marriott Harbor Beach, sorry for forgetting that one. 2) My bottom line preference is to be near 17th street in a nice hotel. I absolutely understand that by bidding I"m taking a chance on getting a hotel in another area, I'm just trying to minimalize that risk. I'm fine with wherever I end up though, which is why priceline is perfect for me. I think that based on your question, I"ll be bidding 'downtown' first and then 'beach' though, so thanks :). I have the holiday inn express conference center (17th street) on reserve in the event that my bidding strategy doesn't work out. That hotel is pricing at $130.00 plus tax, so a nicer hotel in the same general price range would be a big 'win' to me. However, this is Easter Break week, and my expectations are such that a bonus is great, but I"ll be fine either way :). Cheryl :o
  16. Hello, First time poster and HOTWIRE / PRICELINE user. Thanks in advance for taking the time to help! I've read through a bunch of posts and want to make sure that I've put together a reasonable bidding strategy (this is kind-of overwhelming). Plus, the RESORT tag for the Hyatt Pier 66 confuses me a bit. Here's what I"m looking for: April 3rd (pre-cruise). I'll also be bidding on an APril 11th post-cruise, but figured let's start with one thing at a time :) 4 Star Beach: Hyatt Pier 66 or Ilugano OR 4 Star Downtown: Renaissance Fort Lauderdale or Fort Lauderdale Grand Hotel and Yacht Any of the above 4 resorts are absolutely fine. If I had to pick, I"d take one of the 4 star BEACH. So, here is my proposed strategy (but I really have no idea whether or not it makes sense). 1st Bid: 4 Star Beach RESORT 2nd Bid: 4 Star Beach 3rd Bid: 4 Star Downtown 4th Bid: keep above, add zone 1 5th bid: keep above, add zone 3 6th Bid: keep above, add zone 6 I know at some place I"m supposed to close the browser, but I don't understand that completely. I will be ABSOLUTELY sure to use PRICELINE from your links each and every bid :) Thanks a bunch! Cheryl from Michigan :o
