  1. I just booked a 2.5* hotel in Springfrield (North), MO for one night, Sat 7/9/2011 - Sun 7/10/2011. The rate was $52/night. The listed amenities were: Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Laundry Facilities (self-service), and High-Speed Internet Access. Used the HOTWIRE link at the top of the page -- thanks BB.
  2. The Hotel Palomar is very conveniently located one block from the Rosslyn station. I've stayed there three or four times via Priceline wins -- you won't be disappointed. Congrats!
  3. I needed a room for the family for the weekend of 3/27-3/29. Hotwire listed a $48 2.5-star in the airport zone, so I wasn't willing to go much higher for a 2.5-star in a more desirable (to me) zone (Downtown or South). I started at $42 and worked my way up to $50, before abandoning the effort. I then tried to get the Airport 2.5-star cheaper via Priceline, but gave up on that when PL rejected a $44 bid. At that point, I preferred using Hotwire and being assured that the hotel would accommodate 2 adults and 2 kids, plus have free breakfasts. I'm surprised that PL did not offer the same hotel (La Quinta Inn North) for a few bucks cheaper.
  4. After trying a series of bids on 2.5*'s via Priceline (including up to $50 in the South or Downtown zones), I decided that I'd go with the $48/night 2.5* in the Airport zone that included free breakfast. Turns out it is the La Quinta Inn North on I-37. The price seemed really good, especially since it includes breakfast and free internet. Not bad for a quick weekend family vacation. Amenities listed: Complimentary breakfast, pool, laundry facilities, high-speed internet access. I booked through your HOTWIRE link, although I did not see a ref code despite closing the tab and trying fresh. I hope you got the referral credit! Thanks.
  5. The subject line pretty much says it all. PRICELINE accepted my initial $85/night bid for a 4* in Arlington, VA for April 8-10 (two nights). I've stayed there before (also via a Priceline bid) and it's an excellent bargain. It's a Kimpton hotel (all of which are very nice in my experience) right across the street from the Ballston Metro station (so easy access to everything).
  6. Posting for a friend who won a room at the Riverplace for 3/18-3/22. A group of us are flying to Portland to watch the NCAA basketball 1st and 2nd round games, and this fellow bid after we'd burned out all of the Westin inventory. See this PRICELINE thread for the details of the Westin Winning Bid details.
  7. A group of friends are flying in to Portland March 18-22 to attend the NCAA basketball tournament 1st and 2nd round games. I forgot to bid through the BB PRICELINE link (sigh), but I sent email to the rest asking them to use it. Other bidders received (same dates): Westin Portland - $70 (*) Westin Portland - $70 (*) Westin Portland - $65 Riverplace - $90 (after the Westin inventory ran out) (**) Avalon - $79 (via HotWire after Westin inventory ran out) (**) Westin Portland - $85 (several days later when Westin reloaded some rooms) (*) These bids happened before I spammed the list asking them to use the BB link. I hope some of the later ones did. (**) I'll make separate posts on these, but included them here for completeness.
  8. Thanks. Actually, in case it makes a difference, I just realized that the amenities I see do not match those of the original poster. The one I'm seeing does not have the fitness center (boutique, restaurant, business center, internet access, and spa). I had not realized you could use the "packages" link as a way to get more clues. Looking there with the correct amenities (woops), it appears to be a match with the Riverplace Hotel, which also is a match for the TripAdvisor review information (4.5/5 and 40+ reviews). Seems like a nice deal at $85/night, if that's the one.
  9. I am seeing the same hotel (or at least the same amenities) for the dates 3/18-3/22. As an additional data point, Hotwire lists it as receiving a rating of "4.5 of 5" from "40+ customer reviews on TripAdvisor". Looking at the TripAdvisor ratings, the hotels in the right part of town with roughly that rating are: Hotel Monaco (4.5 on TripAdvisor, 200+ reviews) Hotel Deluxe (4.5 on TA, 150+ reviews - not on Hotwire list, but known Priceline 4* Riverplace (4.5 on TA, 48 reviews - not on the HotWire list, but is a known Priceline 4* hotel) Hotel Modera (4.5 on TA, 61 reviews) Governor Hotel (4.0 on TA, 56 reviews - not on HotWire list, but is a known Priceline 4* hotel) I'd guess it's Riverplace or Hotel Modera, but I don't know how close the TripAdvisor rating/review count are on the HotWire listings. 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor is a strong endorsement, imho. If you pulled the trigger, please let us know what you learned!
