  1. Started at $55 hoping to grab a room cheap and worked my way up to $74 over the course of 8 bids. They were offering a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for $77 for 3 Stars that I was pretty certain was this hotel, so I wanted to try to get it a bit cheaper since I had plenty of time to bid. Overall I am pleased, saving $20 a night for a pretty nice looking property.
  2. Took 2 days and using free re-bids, but got this for $48 + fees, 63.16 total.
  3. This location was OK for us, we were up for a show and coming in off of I-380, so it's OK. The only real problem is there is nothing around the hotel if you want a snack, we brought a few sodas and snack food, mini fridge and microwave in the room. Breakfast was good, eggs, bacon, potatoes, danish, lots of cereals, waffles, etc. I noticed in the elevator the certificate says "Holiday Inn Scranton". We drove past about 3 months ago and the Best Western sign was covered, but it is now uncovered and still Best Western Plus. Room was fresh and clean. Good place to stay if all you want to do is shower/sleep/eat and get back on the road and $70 beat the best price I could fine online for the room by over $40. Amenities: Indoor pool(s) Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Free Parking Free Breakfast Free Internet Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower
  4. Have stayed here before and usually get it thru Priceline. Wasn't having any luck and saw Hotwire had it for $59, the indoor pool was the giveaway it was most likely the Best Western. Decent place, clean rooms, pretty good breakfast, not much around, but for a total of $70 a good overall value.
  5. Started at $50, used some free bid zones and got this for $60. After bid number 2 got the offer that they would try again for $68, but went on with my usual $2-$4 jumps. Have stayed there before and it is a pretty nice hotel. Somewhat older location, but completely remodeled in the last few years. One time we arrived at this hotel, they were sold out, but already had a no charge room reserved for us at the Crown Plaza, plus gave us a certificate good for 2 free nights at some point in the future. That was an exceptional deal; as best I can recall it was about a $45 a night bid that turned into 2 nights at a nicer hotel and 2 freebies! As always started with the PRICELINE link at Betterbidding.
  6. Even bidding 3* won't keep them from booking you there, as they say something to the tune of X * or better. We've learned it the hard way, but at a bargain price the parking fee isn't all that bad, the remote location is more of an issue.
  7. Tried $46, no go, they countered with $54. I selected another zone without a 3 star, went up to $48 that I got it for earliwer this week and got it. We stayed there on the "going" leg of our trip, I wasn't sure of our route back, so I waited to bookfor our return. Very nice room, great breakfast and the staff was one of the best I have ever experienced. I saw some critical comments about the bathroom being small, but found it to be just fine. Our new favorite stopover along I-81. Oh yeah, started at the PRICELINE link on Betterbidding.
  8. Stared at $33, no, so I added Kennesaw and went up to $36, still no, so I added Marietta and $39 and got it. Have stayed there before and always happy, but was hoping for Hyatt Regency Suites which I've won before and is a steal at Priceline's price. This is still a good deal.
  9. Got it first bid, started at $48 based on reported wins here. Another great deal from Priceline!
  10. We got this thru priceline as a 3 1/2 star a few weeks ago. Worth $51, but not the price I paid thru Hotwire. The only negative is it is quite isolated from everything, no gas/conv. store, etc. nearby.
  11. Started at $35 for 3.5* (it's happened before!) and upped it to $38, no luck. Added 3* and got the Holiday Inn. Have stayed there before, older, but recently remodeled and a nice stay. This is another great deal in the PIT Airport area.
  12. Started at the betterbidding PRICELINE link, tried $33 first, they came back with the "if you'll add $10 we can try again", opted to add West Mifflin (no 3*) and upped bid to $35 and got it. This seems to be the bottom price for this hotel. Have stayed here on a number of occasions and it's a great deal.
  13. Started at the PRICELINE link here on Betterbidding, got on the first try for $40 for 6/26/10, one night.
  14. Tried all the zones at 3*, when I went to 2.5* got it first try. Started at the PRICELINE link here on Betterbidding.
  15. Started at $120, with some free-bid zones at $10 increments ended up at $150 for 1 night, 6/12/2010. That's about half the rate on their website.
  16. Started at $32 and used free bid zones up to $35, got the Four Points for Friday 4/23 and Saturday 4/24. This is a little far from the airport but have stayed there before and found it quiet and comfortable. Another great PRICELINE buy! Total with fees $87.74.
  17. Oops! It's the Marriott Northwest. Usually get the Hyatt Regency, but the Marriott will be fine.
  18. $40 from 3/16-3/20, total with fees $191. Have stayed here before and it was nice.
  19. 12/29-12/31, $44 on first try. Was bidding on 3* and got a bump up.
  20. Bid on a 2* and it is far from it. Very basic room in an extended stay location. Dirty, worn room. Door would not stay closed without the deadbolt, so it was secure if you were in there, but who knows when you are gone. Very close to the expressway, so it was noisy. Left after the first night with little resisitance from the staff or Priceline. Not even a 1*, not even a room at the "Y". Would not recommend unless you have no other choice.
  21. Bid of $32 accepted in Kennesaw for 12/28-12/31 at the Sun Suites. On arrival it was far from a 2* and priceline aggreed to cancel reservation. Use extra caution when bidding 2* in this area, this location is not even a 1*!
