  9. This was my last night in Philly after Thanksgiving. This was the BEST hotel night of ny entire weekend. Too bad it was only for 1 night. I saved the best for last. Checked in early around 1pm & was give a King room on the 10 floor which is one of the Starwood Preferred floors. it was a corner room, so there was a little extra space in a long hallway. The room has a contemporary vibe similar to a W hotel. The decor is minimalist but not cold. The lobby is a lounge with a small checkin area off to the side. I had stopped in around noon & was told that my room might be ready in an hour which it was. I left my bags with the front desk while I took in the city. Everyone that I encountered at this property was stellar & could not do enough for you. From directions to restaurant recommendations, to just being overly pleasant & helpful. I would stay here every time I am in my former home city. The room was GREAT!!!! The bed comfy, The bathroom large & well appointed. Flat panel TV & nice high desk for working. The 5th floor business center area & social area were very nice as they are in a large interior courtyard area with a large skylight overhead 6 floors up. Internet was readily available in this area for free & I never had to wait for a PC. Did not try the restaurant, but have heard good things. Loved, Loved, Loved the Le Meridien Philadelphia. This was the best bargain of my weekend as I got it for a rate of $99.00 a night. Too bad I couldn't extend my weekend...
  10. Stayed here for 1 day over the Thanksgiving holidays. Checked in early around 1pm with no problems. A 2 double bed room that I had won on Priceline for $45.00 a night. Great deal in this location. This is a solid 3* Hilton in the middle of center city. Very accessible to all tourist venues in Philadelphia. Did not have a car so did not have to worry about parking downtown, which can be quite pricey. Room was spotless, & the bed was really comfortable as it was the new Garden Sleep System that they have recently upgraded to. Similar to a sleep number bed. Bathroom was typical, not real large, but quite user friendly. Free wireless internet throughout hotel as well as 3-4 PCs in the lobby for use by guests at no charge. Indoor pool looked nice but I did not utilize this or the jacuzzi. If you are looking for a good, reliable place for a few days in Philly with a great location, this is it. This was my second stay at this hotel & probably will not be my last.
  11. Stayed here for 2 days over the Thanksgiving holidays. From reading previous reviews, I was a little apprehensive, but I got a great deal on Priceline of $42.00 a night, so how bad could it be... Got there late Thanksgiving night after the family festivities around 10pm. Was greeted by a very pleasant man behind the desk, who I had spoken to earlier informing him of my late arrival. Checkin was quick & I was in my room in about 10 minutes. The hallways are a little dark & I can understand why some feel a little unsafe as there is not alot of action within the hotel. Very quiet. The end door that I went into the building was ajar & not locked. Entering the room, I was pleasantly surprised as the room was of average size with a queen size bed, a small table with 2 chairs and a tube TV. The room was clean & well maintained. The linens were spotless & up to date. The bathroom was clean & well equipped. The only complaint I had with the room was the shower head was below my shouder height & quite difficult to maneuver. Also there was a second lower shower head that was lower - a little odd... Overall, this was an acceptable place to stay for a couple of nights. Free breakfast buffet was included each morning in the restaurant overlooking the pool area including eggs, sausage, potatoes, etc. Not gourmet but quite filling and welcome freebie. All of the staff that I encountered were polite & courteous.
  12. Had $10 bonus cash from an attempt to cancel a Priceline reservation. Started at $35.00 + $10 bonus cash - downtown Philadelphia Won on first bid !!! This is the last night needed for my Thanksgiving weekend. Stayed here previously - hotel is nice & fine for what I need Hilton Garden Inn Philadelphia Center City Downtown Philadelphia 1100 Arch Street Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19107 215-923-0100 Check-In Date: Sat, Nov 27, 2010 / After 04:00 PM Check-Out Date: Sun, Nov 28, 2010 / 11:00 AM
  13. Maravis 5 Congrats on your win... I live in Maine & get to the Portsmouth area often. I actually have been meaning to go to Bonto - This may give me good reason - have heard great things about the place. Am glad to be of assistance when needed. Too bad you didnt get the Intercontinental... The Langham is lovely though - just more classic old world style. Good luck with your proposal
  14. A friend of mine just stayed at the W a few weeks ago - He said it was one of the nicest hotels he has ever stayed at - everything is new & beautiful... The Taj is nice but a little stuffy as it was the Ritz Carlton previously. The Langham is more on the order of the Taj ( I used to work in the hotel...) - The Intercontinental is great & I have heard rave reviews from friends as well - The W would be a better location centrally than the Intercontinental though. lastminutetravel.com has: the Intercontinental for $189.00 listed under 4.5-star hotel in Quincy/Financial/Waterfront/Bost Fairmont Battery Wharf for $112.00 listed as 4.5-star hotel in Quincy/Financial/Waterfront/Bost The Onyx for $117.00 listed as 4-star hotel in Downtown Area/Boston The Langham for $144.00 listed as 4-star hotel in Quincy/Financial/Waterfront/Boston The Lenox for $133 listed as 4-star hotel in Back Bay Area/Boston Personally I would either go with the W or the Fairmont Battery Wharf - The Fairmont gets spectacular reviews & is right on the Waterfront.
  15. Glad I could be of help - I have heard the Fairmont is WONDERFUL!!!!

I have stayed here a couple of times & it is a really nice older hotel with updated decor & very nice rooms. I am staying there over the long Thanksgiving weekend as I have family in South Jersey. The location is great - right near great shopping on Walnut St. & great restaurants. I have attached a link below : http://radisson.com/reservation/rateSearch...umberChildren=0
