  1. We're planning a trip to Minneapolis next month and were going to bid 4 star near MOA to get the Sofitel. I'll report back what happens. I believe the rate is $99.00 for Friday and $189.00 for Saturday on the dates we're looking at. Another interesting note, if you use Priceline's "Shop and Compare" option, it comes up with a $99.00 4 star hotel in SW Minneapolis, but when you click on the link, it disappears. Very interesting....
  2. This hotel was very nice... huge lobby, friendly staff, and the location is fantastic. You're close to the interstate, about 5 minutes from Oak Park Mall, a grocery store is nearby, and you can see Costco from the front door. :) You can walk over to McDonalds too, it's literally 50 yards from the hotel. The hotel was QUIET all weekend... we couldn't believe how quiet it was, and they had a Snap-On convention and a high school reunion while we were there. You wouldn't have known it. We did not partake in the breakfast buffet since they charged $9.95.. instead we went to the grocery store and bought some fruit and drinks, and kept them cool in our ice bucket. :) (yes we're cheap) Rooms are large and clean, bathrooms include all the regular goodies and a decent hair dryer. My only complaint, and it's a minor one... the TV's are set on the dresser, and the dresser is the same height as the bed. This makes for an awkward TV watching position when you're in bed. Not a huge problem though. All in all, it's a good hotel and I'd stay here again.
  3. Got this today... it's really not a super deal because their current best rate is 69/night. But, it still saved a bit even with Priceline fees. I used free rebids and was rejected at 35 and 40, so I went for 50 and got it. Offer Price - $50.00 Subtotal - $100.00 Taxes & Fees - $25.23 Total charges - $125.23 Have heard mixed reviews about this hotel, but we like the Overland Park area and couldn't afford to stay in Embassy this time, so we'll stick it out. :)
  4. Certainly! The amenities were: Suite Airport Shuttle Restaurant(s) Complimentary Breakfast Pool(s) Fitness Center Kitchenette Golf Nearby Laundry Facilities (self-service)
  5. We had a feeling that this was Embassy, because some wise person put in their travel review that the manager's reception and breakfast buffet were great. :) That combined with the fact that it was suites, and all the amenities matched up... we took the plunge. We love Embassy and are glad it ended up being that hotel. We're flying out of KC on Friday morning, so this will be a nice place to spend Thursday night. Could you add this to the KC page for Hotwire? The 3.5 star "customer favorite" hotel for the Kansas City Airport region is Embassy Suites. Thanks, Liz
  6. We were very happy to get this hotel at this rate, since this is busy season. This is for the night prior to a cruise we're taking, and we booked 2 rooms. We have been attempting to get the Harbor Beach Marriott, but all our bids in our range were rejected. That, coupled with there being LOTS of hotels sold out for our weekend (not sure why), and that the only 3 star choices for Downtown are this hotel and Embassy (and they're both great), we gave Downtown a try. Got it on the first bid, so maybe we could have started at $70. Can't complain though as the cheapest room for our weekend was $235 a night. We've heard great things about this hotel so we're anxious to see it. Plus we're vacationing with the in-laws so they'll think we really splurged on them... heh. :) They're going to freak out when they see the cruise ships docked practically across the street. $80 per room, $26.74 in fees for a total of $186.74. Thanks Better Bidding!
  7. Very happy to get Hotel Phillips at such a great rate even though it's a couple months away. Easy bidding too... started at $42 and rejected, so we added a free rebid zone and upped the bid to $44. I don't have the specific congrats info handy as my husband placed the bid, but it was $44.00 per night plus $19 and some change for fees, for a total of a little over $100. Very happy with that rate and we can't wait to check out this hotel as we've heard good things about it. Thanks, Liz
