  3. Needed a decent place just to sleep these nights and won at $64 p/nt. Been to this hotel before and it's fine, close drive to Charleston and only ~5 miles to beach. 1st Bid: $76 (3* (SC - Charleston Mt Pleasant - Isle of Palms) 2nd Bid: $75 added 2.5* (SC - Charleston Mt Pleasant - Isle of Palms) 3rd Bid: $61 added 2* (SC - Charleston Mt Pleasant - Isle of Palms) 4th Bid WON: $64 2* and added Folly Beach area, knowing no available 2* hotels available that weekend in that area) :)
  4. Follow-up... the hotel was very nice! It's an old & historic property but has undergone extensive renovations. The lobby is gorgeous. I even had a balcony. I didn't try the restaurants (pricey!) but it was short walking distance to many good one's and the Metro.
  5. Pretty pleased, as it was $109 p/nt with a regular booking site and this hotel has free b'fast. 1st attempt: 3*, Ocoee Orlando West area, bid $57 2nd attempt: 3*, added Kissimmee area, bid $60 3rd attempt: 3*, added Winter Park area, bid $63 and won! ;)
  6. Thanks! I checked Omni's website and the regular rate for those nights is $259 per night. So I'm VERY happy. I've seen it and it's a loveley property close to the Metro station and good restaurants... and a relatively short walk to the zoo.
  7. I was hoping for the Marriott Wardman Park, but got this, which I'm ok with as it seems to be in the same general area. Started bid at $80 for a 4* in Dupont Circle area, was offered chance to rebid at $98. Went back to Priceline home page, then to Name Your Own Price link, then rebid at $85 in same area at same star level (surprised it let me do that). Won at $85 per night at Omni. As info, I used Betterbidding PRICELINE link. Thanks!
  8. I was hoping/trying for the Courtyard Oceanfront, but initial bid for that area (Virginia Beach area) was rejected at $36. Added Downtown Portsmouth area at $38... rejected. Added VA Beach Pembroke Area and incresed to $41 and won this property. It's $109 a night through the Hilton website, so still a good deal.
  9. $74 a night for this date through hotel's site, so not too bad.
  10. Rate on Hilton site is $200/night for same dates. Valet parking is $12-$15 a day, but wireless Internet is free and it's fairly close to the MARC and Metro, so I'm a happy camper. :D
  11. Forgot to use PRICELINE link on this site. I'm sorry! 1) Started Ocala for $35 2) Added Ocala South for $41 3) Added Tavares for $46 4) Added Homossasa Springs for $51 Accepted Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Ocala Conference Center for $51 + $12 (tax & fee) = $63 :)
  12. I bid $52 on Wednesday and it was declined. They counter-offfered at $61. I didn't take it. Went in today and bid $57. Got it on the 1st try. :)
  13. Bids of $44, $51, and $56 rejected. Started with French Quarter and added an area (Downtown, then Garden District, finally MSY) with each bid. I have a feeling that a lot of fellow Gators are bidding today, as tickets were just released for the Sugar Bowl. :)
  14. Just to clarify... the bids and win were for the (Westin) Resort on Priceline. I didn't buy the 3* (Players Club)/Hotwire that I had inquired about above. I understand that you want to consolidate threads where you can, but I think it's confusing.
  15. Dates were firm. Bids of $76 and $85 made on 6/29 were rejected. Tried again on 7/1 and $100 p/night was accepted. It priced at $279 p/night for same dates elsewhere, so I'm :)
  16. Does anyone know which property this might be? It's a 3* in Hilton Head Island, SC on Hotwire (will use the BB link) for 7/12-7/15/09 for $79 a night. amenities Near Beach Fitness Center Pool(s) Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby THANKS!
  17. I tried the same parameters for the following week (7/12-7/16) at $76. It was rejected. I changed it to 7/12-7-15 and upped it to $85. That was rejected too. :)
  18. Went to Priceline hoping to get The Capitol Suites (a 2* hotel) in Capitol Hill. Entered 2* for $50 a night bid, rejected and told to enter a bid for $14 more. Entered $64 bid and... "Congratulations, we've upgraded your hotel quality level to a 3-star hotel. Your price of $64 was accepted by Residence Inn Washington Dc Capitol Hill". Elsewhere, price is $139 p/night for same dates at that Residence Inn, so I'm a happy (non) camper!
