  1. From my understanding all room booked thru HOTWIRE or PRICELINE is defaulted as a Double Occupancy. You can chance it and take the room and ask for upgrades when you get to the hotel. Rollaway Beds, Two standard beds......... It's a gamble though. Not to worry, I'm new too and you posted in the right area! :)
  2. Sorry for all the trobule with this one, but I ended up not booking a hotel room thru any site. Thanks for the replies though! It helped with my last trip.
  3. Hi, thought I'd share some info with budget travelers. A friend of mine used this website to book his rental car for 2days. He said everything did go smoothly, don't know much on it. Just thought I'd share. I know AVIS would be a good choice for those under 25yrs as they don't charge the underage drving fee. discounthawaiicarrental.com
  4. Ok, so I am planning on going to Seattle the ending of June. The last time I purchased my hotel (thru HOTWIRE) 3 mo in advance, being off-season got an AWESOME deal. Now that summer months are PEAK times for Seattle, when would be the right time to purchase? I found something in queen anne that i believe to be the Inn at Queen Anne for 75/anight. I want to be in downtown-pike place but everything is about 110/night. I'm planning on a 4night stay. Should I wait another month or just book it?? I know that that wknd is the wknd of Pride which I've been told is super busy?
  5. It COULD be the Silver Cloud Inn Stadium. I seen in a post somewhere on here that it used to be a 3* and now it's a 3.5*. Just my 2cents :)
  6. Just got back from my Seattle adventure. Coming from Hawaii, the random downtown 'blizzard' was more than welcomed! haha Quick little notes on the hotel Max. *Right next to the Courthouse *10 min walk to Pike Market *15 min walk to Space Needle/Center *2min walk to Pacific Place..........which leads to Westlake Mall that has the Monorail which will take you to the Space needle for $2. Yea, found out about this the day after, but the walk was well worth it. *Located DIRECTLY across the Westin Hotel which the AIRPORTER come right by. But I chose to use the Taxi coming in since i got in at about 12am. Quick little notes for those that have no clue what to expect. The hotel itself is very 'eccentirc'. When I arrived at 12am techno music was jamming in the lobby......which was welcomed with open arms. I was on the 10th floor. I guess if you dont book directly thru the hotel you get that, but I did enjoy the room. King Sized bed, flat plasma screen, room came stocked with liquor, snacks.....tempting, but resisted :) Nice cozzy feeling. Bed is EXTREMELY comfortable! They were right, you really didnt want to leave the room. Art work in the walkway is simply retro/chic/grunge. If you have the option to be here........DO IT! If you want to know anything else message me.
  7. Oops...........March 5-10, 2009 Amenities: Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business
  8. Awesome! Will be staying at the Hotel Max for 5 nights (69/night). Through HOTWIRE. Thanks for the help, I did some posting on the other (priceline), but the whole showing of anemities really helped me on Hotwire. The "B" (boutique) was a give away, being that Hotel Max was the only hotel that had the Boutique anemitie. I know it wasn't gauranteed, but I'm Happy! :)
  9. I went ahead and put in a bid of 55 for waikiki city central at priceline. It told me to rebid. I read the tips on rebidding. My perferred zone goes up to 3 1/2* the next zone I am willing to stay in offers 4*. When I attempted to rebid, my perferred zone and star level was a default and it also made 4* and Resort a default selection when I added the zone to try my rebid. Now what would be the steps? I truely dont mind getting a hotel in another zone. The lowest rate a hotel goes for in the perferred zone is at 149 and its a 3 1/2*.
  10. Yes you are right. Foolish me. Haha And thanks to all the replies........ I am still alittle skeptic though. So, just the basic........from scratch, what are the correct or 'ideal' procedures to bidding on Priceline? I have been reading this board and peoples replys........ I know I should verify the zones that my ideal hotel in located in..........kinda search reviews on sites to see thier star ratings.......find what the current rate is.......then id bid half of the current rate (made that up myself). Is this the right way of going about this?
  11. Alright...... I just found this AMAZING site last nite. I will be traveling to Wasington State in March and want to use Priceline, but very uneasy. I will be going to Oahu in February, so I decided that I would try it out there being that I am familiar with the place and if I get stuck with an unwanted' resort, I'll just roll with it. I'm not even sure if I am posting in the right forum. Anyway, this is how I will proceed with my PL bid. I know I want to be in the downtown waikiki area (city central) I verified the types of resorts that are affiliated with the zone...........I even checked what types of star ratings would be in that zone. PL gives 2*, 3*, 3.5* but greys out 1* and 4*. Betterbidding only goes up to 3*.............No 3.5*, I know it states that the 3.5 is new to PL.............does that mean all the hotels listed as being 3* on betterbidding could have been upgraded to 3.5? Gosh, I feel so................I don;t even have the words. You know when you know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING than all of a sudden you're bummarded with info........ HAHA I feel sorry for who ever is reading this. In short. I am Looking to stay Feb.06-09 (My Bday weekend!) and want to score the Aqua Waikiki. 63/night. I am on PL just checking it out, it accepted my bid of 64/night 3* waikiki city cental. Am I doing the right thing? Any help/feedback would be appreciated. Mahalo!
