  1. Using the forum link for priceline. Tried 5* in Bloomsbury $150, then added in Maybury for $200. No joy. Backed off to 4* at Bloomsbury at $180 + tax ($45) = $225 / nite. Priceline express offered the same room at $229 (plus tax) and Google at $349. Am not 100% sure I got the best deal but it's not bad.
  2. Like many others, I ended up getting the Hotel Pierre Milano. Amenities: - Free Breakfast - Pet Friendly - Restaurants - Business Center - Self service laundry - Internet access Used the BiddingHelper.com. Pretty convenient.
  3. Sorry the dates were terribly wrong. 5/9/13-5/10/13 are the right dates.
  4. thanks to the other post for around the same dates and location, successful on first bid.
  5. Just won for 8/9/13-5/10/13 for $160, adding tax and fees it's around $180. It's a long weekend in Europe and it's hard to find anything in Ghent so I was happy to get this. BUT when I looked up the hotel two things made me cringe. 1. The rate at Holiday Inn's web site was cheaper ($155) especially if you add the tax and handling fee to the Priceline rate. 2. The hotel was actually NOT in Ghent but in St. Denijs-Westrem - a town 20 min away by tram. For a town the size of Ghent, it's like getting a hotel on the tip of Long Island when you are looking to stay in Manhattan. I have been with Priceline since when they sold groceries and gas and this is one of the two bad deals I have gotten so overall I am still happy with them. Just be aware!
  6. We just went and tried the second night (3/31-4/1) at $210 and no dice. We then tried to extend with Priceline at the same rate of $220, no dice either. Ouch.
  7. Tried many times starting at 100 with $10 jumps. We really wanted two nights so we alternated the two nights, then one night. This was done over three days and finally arrived at 220. The last one prior to the success was two nights 3/30-4/1 at $210. We are heading out to watch the Iceskating world champion, and I guess so are a lot of people. The hotel shoed as sold out everywhere but priceline tells me we saved 17% - not one of my best priceline successes but we like the Meridien.
  8. same amenities as the other post for the same hotel for April 2012. Fitness CenterPool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Used the HOTWIRE link from the forum. What a deal.
  9. First day Zurich Central 4* at $65 to no avail. Added Glattburgg 4* at $70 and still no go. 2nd day Glattburgg 4* at $78.
  10. bid and won on 1/22 for only 1/23 and extended 1 night. Typical biz hotel. A bit old and our shower wasn't working 100% giving us scorching hot water one minute and icy cold the next. The location is very convenient since it sit right on top of the M1 which goes directly to Gare de Lyon and most of the major attractions.
  11. I must say that after years of using PRICELINE, this is the first time I felt I got a bad deal. The avg price shown by Priceline was around $200 so I bid $85. I won the bid and including tax and service it came to around $108. I then went to the hotel web site and got a rate of 74EUR which is around $104 including breakfast and taxes. The hotel got pretty good reviews on traveladvisor but I am still a little... what should I say..... I am sure the hotel is nice, but it's just not the usual experience I have had on PRICELINE. Just watch out for Stuttgart - I guess.
