  1. 4/4/13 to 4/6/13 First attempt was accepted at $100. I started high in hope that I would get a Bonnet Creek property (Wyndham or Hilton). Still can't complain with a 50% discount.
  2. Best Western University Inn Boca Raton $65 1/21/11 - 1/24/11 Amenities: airport shuttle, complimentary breakfast, fitness center, pool, business center, laundry, high speed internet. I was hoping for the wyndam, but this appears to be a new one to add to the list. I used the HOTWIRE link from this site.
  3. This was accepted immediately. I did not receive a message about "hotels in this area go for x amount." You really can't beat this price for downtown Asheville during peak season while the candlelight Biltmore walk-through is going on. I even remembered to use the PRICELINE link :) If anyone else is going to attempt this, I recommend starting lower. By picking a 3.5* you can rebid at least twice, and I think three times using the other areas without 3.5* hotels
  4. Amenities: Suite, complimentary breakfast, fitness center, pool, and kitchenette. This place is fantastic. The room was easily as nice as the crown plaze I stayed in downtown atlanta. The fridge was LARGE for a hotel room. The couch pulled out into a queen sized bed. Plenty of desk space, comfy bed, flat anel tv, marble counters in bathroom. Even the shampoo was above average hotel quality (not the best, but very good) The bathroom was a little on the small side, but for $65/nt after tax and fees. It can't be beat. Tip when booking: This hotel will not show up if you add any children while looking for a room. I have a 2yo and the hotel disappeared when I added her. These rooms can handle two adults and two children comfortably. The staff are some of the nicest I encountered. They helped me out of a jam after I booked. Not thinking about the time of booking. I booked the room at 12:10 am 6/19 while my wife was driving. I booked for arrival 6/19 - check out 6/20. Can you see the problem with this? I was planing on checking out on 6/19. I should have booked before 11pm on 6/18 for a 6/18 - 6/19 stay. The woman at the front desk just made it correct in the computer with no fuss and a smile. So, if traveling at night, be aware of the time so that you can book your hotel within the correct PRICELINE / HOTWIRE time frame. I wouldn't fool around in the future with other hotels or PRICELINE in the area. HOTWIRE, North Augusta, 3*, $49, BOOK IT!
  5. Jameson Suites $49 I bid up to $45 on priceline, then jumped to this because it was almost guaranteed. It was the hotel I expected, and it gets nice reviews.
  6. Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites-Warrington. Posted rates at this location are $117/nt on the discount sites like PRICELINE. It was quite difficult to find a hotel. I wanted a 3*, but got up to $105 and decided Pensacola isn't nice enough to shell out that much for a room. It may have to do with the Michael Buble' concert that evening. It's still a 25% saving over the PRICELINE listed rate.
  7. One night July 14, 2010. Based on a few other posts I started with $65. It was accepted immediately. I may not have been aggressive enough, but on the flipside, it's a great price for peak season in a popular spot. Hotel Name: Courtyard By Marriott Sandestin At Grand Boulevard 100 Grand Boulevard Destin, Florida 32550 850-650-7411 Subtotal: $65.00 Taxes and Fees: $15.44 Total Charges*: $80.44 I also used the PRICELINE link on this site.
  8. I'm not really sure the star rating. I assume 3* because I had 3, 3.5, and 4 selected. Williston was my last slot to try and get a hotel. My bid was $57 dollars, $70.51 after fees 1 Hurricane Lane Williston, VT 05495 Tel: 802-878-2001 As it turns out, that is a really good rate. Cheapest I could find a room for that date was $128
  9. 8/8/2009 - 8/9/2009 Spent one not here during a short aquarium trip. Parking is extremely High. $27 and then I gave the valet a $3 tip. Valet is the only hotel parking available. There is parking down the street, but this is not a safe place to walk around at night so keep that in mind. The room was small, but very nicely appointed. I would definitely stay at another Hyatt Regency. Hopefully they don't all have really high parking fees. The aquarium is amazing. I'm not huge aquarium fan, but this is really a site to see.
  10. My stay is for three nights 9-1-2009 thru 9-3-2009, $222.00 for the room + $46.14 taxes = $268.14 total. It's a good price, but I was hoping for the embassy suites ( free breakfast, What can I say, I like a bargain). My only real gripe with the Hyatt Regency is that they tend to have very high parking prices. I expect to pay $25 per day for parking. But hey, this price is about $40 cheaper than the lowest I saw on a discount sight, and $130 cheaper per night than what tripadvisor suggests. It will do just fine. Side note rant: What hotels offer the best bargain for price vs amenities? I reluctantly stayed at a Quality Inn with my in-laws. (Pet friendly, they had their dog) . The Quality Inn had a very comfortable bed, free internet, free breakfast, free parking, and I payed only 10 dollars more for a huge jacuzzi tub. I was pleasantly surprised by all f the amenities that were included. The room was $80 a night at teh front desk. I find that the more I pay for a room, the more I have to pay once I get there for add-ons. Sure, the fancier hotels have better room decor, but how much time do you really spend in your room on vacation. I'm starting feel like the higher end hotels are really not such a great bargain. I feel sorry for the poor sucker paying $200 a night. Thanks for listening Feel free to give me some perspective by sharing your agreement or disagreement with my thoughts.
  11. Just wanted to let everyone know that my experience at the doubletree was great. Staff was extremely friendly. Offered cookies without me asking for them. The room we received might be one of the "lesser" rooms at the hotel. It was on the first floor and didnt have a flat screen tv ( I thought the remodel updated all of the rooms) However, for 55 dollars a night it was great.
  12. After analyzing the receipt a little closer the "/" was separating the hotel name from the hotel location. It is the Doubletree Hotel Biltmore / Asheville. So yes, the location is Asheville. I apologize for the misunderstanding.
  13. The hotel address is 115 Hendersonville Rd, Asheville, NC 28803, On priceline receipt it is listed in the area Biltmore/Asheville
  14. This hotel was not on the main list, but I've been happy with Doubltree in the past. My dates are for 6-2-2009 and checking out 6-3-2009. good price for a pass through hotel. Total after fees is 68.78
  15. Stayed at the crowne plaza in Knoxville 4-17 thru 4-19 for $70. Hotel was nice and in the middle of everything. Walking distance to good eateries. Price would be too high if you were paying for this in Atlanta, but the hotel selection in Knoxville is limited. My only real complaint (this is for a lot of hotels) Why bother put a flat panel digital tv in rooms if you are going to pipe in an analog signal. The picture looks like garbage. Multiple pillows with different firmness were a plus and I look for this in the nicer hotels.
  16. I forgot to post the date of my stay above. This room was booked on Nov 9, 2008
  17. Booked the Westin airport through PRICELINE link on this site for $70 a night booked 5 hours before stay. While this might not be the best 4* I've stayed in. For 70 bucks it was fantastic. Bed comfort was almost there with the best. I use a pillow rating a lot of the times (6 pillows per bed at Westin) Best I've had is 10 pillows with different firmness. I find that a beds comfort seems to correspond with the number of pillows. I think it has to do with the attention to detail. More pillows show that a hotel is going the extra mile for comfort, and it usually shows up in linen quality and comforter quality etc. Plenty of room to setup laptop, nice size lcd television, although only set up with analog input. Soap and shampoo was above average. Bathrooms were a little small, but they were decorated well. Two shower heads with excellent water flow. Noise from airport was minimal, although planes could be heard. Looked on another site, and the room was going for 159 per night. Parking is 9 per day, and there is some construction out front, but I was not sleeping in the parking lot so I could care less. This was a great experience, and I would stay again.
  18. I was able to book the airport Marriott for $60 dollars a night. on Nov. 1st. I booked two hours before I checked in. I used the PRICELINE link in one of the posts on this site. I'd like to start by complimenting everyone for making this site so helpful. I never used PRICELINE before this site, only HOTWIRE. Now for my opinion of the Marriott. Fortunately I was able to get a good rate through priceline. The nice lobby was about the only redeeming quality for this particular property ( I have stayed in very nice Marriotts so this is by no means a gripe about all Marriott hotels). The wall paper was coming off in the room, the king size bed was concave so my wife and I rolled towards the middle all night, and the bed comfort was subpar for this star rating. So that people don't think I am all negative, I am also reviewing my stay at the 4* Atlanta Airport Westin.
