  1. As might be expected, the rental dates are wrong. Rental dates are 01-04-05 to 01-11-05. Of course, I'll be writing 2004 on my checks until May.
  2. Rental Period: 01/04/05 - 01/11/05 First bid was $18 for a standard car, and it was accepted. Consider bidding lower for a Florida car when renting an entire week. edit by thereuare: corrected dates as per post below
  3. I love the story of submitting a DDG claim based on a Priceline bid. My question is does Hotwire routinely accept winning Priceline bids on a DDG claim? I need two rooms in Tacoma, WA, and this should work for the 3* Sheraton. Well, it would have worked, but I have to wait out the six-week waiting period for DDG claims. But this information will be useful for future DDG claims.
  4. Embarrassingly, my report of a successful DDG claim at Orlando's Peabody doesn't show up on a search for "double and difference". http://www.betterbidding.com/index.php?act...ST&f=78&t=5934& As inconsistently as I spell "guarantee", I'm not sure that's a good keyword, either. I hate to place additional burdens on you, thereuare. But since it seems you always try to respond to posts, you are in the best position to implement a keyword system.
  5. One of the primary reasons I like to scan this board is to read of the DD successes of others. Unfortunately, the search function on the site will not attempt to search two letter words (DD). May I suggest that any threads announcing a double the difference claim include the term DDG (Double the Difference Guarantee)? This would allow the use of the search function to view such successes.
  6. Found the rate at EasyClickTravel. I think the really low rates are for August only.
  7. Amenities were exactly as listed in the Orlando hotel directory: Rest, Pool, Fitness, Business, Golf, Tennis. Thanks, thereuare, for giving me confidence in going for the DD. And thanks to Hotwire for honoring my claim. [typo corrected]
  8. Inspired by thereuare's response to my very first post in this thread, I selected the Peabody Orlando (8/4-8/6) for $174. Found a $79 rate elsewhere and will apply for the double the difference guarantee. Net: 2 nights at the Peabody for a total of $16. I wish I could have gotten more nights at the Peabody, but Hotwire did not have any other availability that worked for me. :)
  9. Hold it! The live example posted on this thread indicates that Hotwire will refund an amount greater than actually paid on the purchase. In effect, one can make money staying at a Hotwire hotel. I guess I would have expected that Hotwire would rebate only the amount charged on the credit card. But apparently this is not the case. If I understand this correctly, Hotwire will refund whatever the arithmetic suggests -- even if this is greater than the cost of the hotel room. Am I right?
