  1. First bid was taken so I think I bid too high. Car rental websites were at $70/day for minivan.
  2. Saturday June 27 through June 30, 3 nights Because I have to get on a plane this afternoon I will probably have to call a hotel directly. My fault for waiting until the last minute. I may pick up the Hotwire offer of $206 for the Westin St John. If I do, I'll use the HOTWIRE link on this site. Thanks for all your good work.
  3. bumping this back up. Answered on my previous posts because I did not take the Hotwire in Waikiki because I don't like the Prince Kuhio and the New York trip was cancelled.
  4. I decided not to take this Hotwire offer because I do not like the Prince Kuhio. Didn't want to take a chance on the Hotwire offering. I stayed with my friend in her apartment instead. It was pretty cramped.
  5. My friend did not take this trip so no bidding.
  6. Sorry, forgot to mention that it is offered at $136 which seems very low and I'm hoping it is not some horrible surprise.
  7. I would appreciate some help trying to identify the Hotwire 4 star property on St Thomas, US Virgin Islands. There is only one listed on the hotel sheet at 3.5*. 4 Star Property Resort Beach Fitness Pool restaurant tennis Spa Children's Activities The only hotel listed on the Hotwire List is Bluebeard's Club at 3.5* but the amenities don't match and I want to avoid Bluebeard's Club. I'm hoping this 4* Resort is the Marriott Frenchmans Reef. Geri
  8. Tuesday Feb 10 depart Friday Feb 13 (3 nights)
  9. I cannot find a 4* on the Hotwire List for Waikiki South/Diamond Head area. It has the following amenities listed: Near Beach Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Internet Golf Nearby this might be the Marriott? but it isn't on the master Hotwire List for this area
  10. Flights are: Delta Monday Feb 9 LAX depart 6pm, arrive 9:50pm Delta Friday Feb 13 HNL depart 1:35pm, arrive 9:05pm Would have preferred the 8am Monday departure and, strangely, it has many open seats and the 6pm is almost full. Go figure!
  11. I haven't tried Priceline for airfare for a long time, but I saw the earlier post. I needed 2 tickets last minute LAX to Honolulu for next week. Because I was willing to arrive/depart at any time I tried Priceline. Lowest web price was $318 with taxes. I bid $160 up to $185 using rebids with other local airports and Non-Jet - like that is even an option from LAX to HNL :) Summary of Charges Airline Ticket Offer Price: $185.00 per ticket Airline Ticket Taxes & Fees: $44.70 per ticket Number of Tickets: 2 Airline Ticket Shipping & Handling: $0.00 (Electronic Ticket) Airfare Subtotal: $459.40 Total Trip Cost: $459.40 Many airlines charge extra fees for checked baggage. These fees are not included in your trip cost. Lowest Published Airline Ticket Price: $318.17 per ticket Your Total Airline Ticket Cost: $229.70 per ticket Savings Per Airline Ticket: $88.47 Total Trip Savings*: $176.94 (You Saved 28%) * This is your savings on the total cost of your airline ticket(s) when compared to the lowest published airfare available at time of booking for the itinerary and airline shown.
  12. WESTIN NYC TIMES SQUARE Stay 11/21-11/25 2008 We won this Westin stay through Priceline. I bid about 2 weeks prior to the dates and got a really good deal at $170/night. One day after the win I called the hotel and requested 2 doubles or a roll away bed because we were bringing our 13 year old daughter. The Westin employee asked where my reservation was from and I said 'Priceline'. One day prior to arrival I called to confirm the double room and there was no notation on the reservation. She promised to make a note and I wrote down her name. Upon arrival at 2pm, the desk was very nice. He assigned me to a high floor King bed room. I mentioned that I needed a double room and he was very nice and changed me immediately to a double room. But, I don't think they had it noted on the reservation. We were very lucky because business was really slow. I did not have to wait for the room even though I was about an hour early. Absolutely no mention of Priceline at the checkin. The room was great. High floor 30 (out of 45 floors) with a view facing West across the Hudson River. I really liked the view. Standard room, but medium size for New York. Plenty of room for luggage. In fact there was a nice long bench for laying out luggage, plus a small place to put the collapsible luggage holder and a decent closet. Bathroom was small, but very modern and nice. Just like the website pictures. Hotel does not have a big lobby, but nice enough. There is one fancy Shula's steakhouse in the hotel, not really anywhere else to grab a bite to eat. But, Starbucks right downstairs and plenty of other places nearby. Good location for theatres and Times Square. Subway stations less than a block away. Very good Priceline experience
  13. Also, the 3* in Midtown with Pool is probably Holiday Inn Midtown You can match all these up by going to the section of the New York forum that has a Hotwire Hotel List
  14. The 3.5 in Central Park looks like an exact match for On the Ave hotel. The 3.5 in Soho is probably the Club Quarters
  15. I was just doing some research for friend. I will be directing her to come through this website to get her hotel.
  16. I just noticed a new 4* offering by Hotwire in NYC Midtown Central area. While researching I noticed that the amenities included 'Non Smoking' icon, which is not on the posted Hotwire List. I noticed that the Warwick Hotel has an announcement on their website that Warwick is newly Non Smoking hotel. So, maybe the Non Smoking icon can identify the Warwick on the Hotel List now. Just a thought
  17. Bidding for rental cars is the safest PRICELINE type of bid. Honestly, you are going to get the exact same car for the category selected as anyone else. they use the major companies and a car is a car between Hertz, Avis, Alamo, etc. The only time I had an issue was when I had to change the flights and I had paid for a car for 7 days and only needed it 6 days. I had saved so much money it didn't matter. They let me pick up the car a day later.
  18. I have been watching very carefully for awhile. Identified the hotels available on Hotwire and they weren't the ones I wanted and the prices were a little too high. I wanted Central Park South, but noticed a pattern that Westin was coming up on Priceline for 4* in Times Square. That is a great hotel also, so here's the recap: Bid 1 - 4* Central Park South $140 Bid 2 - 4* Central Park South, Long Island (no 4*), $150 Bid 3 - 4* Central Park South, Midtown East (no 4*), Long Island(No 4*) $160 Gave up Tried again later Bid 1 - 4* Central Park South, Times Square $160 Bid 2 - 4* Central Park South, Times Square, Long Island $170
