Trying to ID this hotel, I think it is the Dupont Hotel, but want to check with the experts! Amenities are: smoke free, fitness center, restaurants, business center, internet. Would welcome any other hotel suggestions as well, and will be sure to book using your links!
Was going to ask what hotel you got, its a shame I can't read... :)
Is this in addition to a Philadelphia Hotel stay OR does this trip replace the previous trip for 9/24-9/26? If in addition to, any follow-up or decisions for that leg of the stay? (please follow-up there... then bump this thread and we'll have a look at the above)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
I responded to the other thread, their trip has been reduced to just lancaster so I am focusing my search in that area.
This trip has now been shortened to just a lancaster only trip, so this thread could be closed.
I'm trying to bid on a hotel for my parents trip to Lancaster September 17th-19th. It looks like I would most likely end up with the new Marriott downtown ( I know of course that its not guaranteed, but that's what the results on this board and a few others are suggesting). I'm just wondering how easy it is to navigate "downtown" Lancaster as my parents are not too fond of busy roads. Also, the Marriott apparently charges $15 per night for parking, anyone know of any other parking options. Thanks!
I was upgraded to a 3.5* as you thought.
As always I used the PRICELINE link from this site to begin my purchase. Started off by bidding 4* in downtown and was rejected, added Northwest Airport region for a free rebid also rejected, added Henrietta zone and selected 3* and received the Rochester Plaza Hotel.
Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $50.00 (USD)

Total Room Cost: $64.63 (USD)
After a couple of unsuccesful bids at $45 I upped my bid to $50 and got the Crowne Plaza Springfield/Enfield. I am going there for a family reunion. A member of our group reserved rooms for us at a "discounted" rate of $119 per night at the Crowne Plaza, so I am quite happy with my result.
Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $50.00 (USD)
Number of Rooms: 2
Number of Nights: 3
Room Subtotal: $300.00 (USD)
Taxes and Fees: $48.68 (USD)
Total Room Cost: $348.68 (USD)
I am helping to plan a trip to Lancaster/Philadelphia for my parents during the dates listed above. They are looking for cheap but decent accomodations ($50-$60). This seems like a tall task to me, so I'm asking for some help! They will probably be staying in Philly both nights. I am just looking for a few suggestions before I start my bidding. I will be sure to use the links provided :).
I looked at tripadvisor as well, certainly a mixed bag, but it seems to be pretty conveniently located so I can't complain! :)
It is listed as a 3 star on Priceline.com.
My first bid was $30/3 star in the Scranton bidding area. That was rejected so for my second bid I added 2.5 star and upped the price to 35. That was also rejected so I added 2 star and upped the bid to $40. I received the Inn at Nichols Village just as I had hoped, as my youngest brother will be staying there for a basketball tournament on March 5-7th. The team received a discounted group rate of $75 but I though I could do better with Priceline because I saw on here that the Inn seemed to do a lot of business on Priceline. I have never stayed there before, does anyone have any advice/opinions about the place?

Never ended up having much luck with any PRICELINE deals in Lancaster. Ended up booking a local motel (can't remember the name of it) for about $60. First time I've not found a suitable deal with PRICELINE, but Lancaster is a pretty small market.
