  1. Started bidding at $45 for a 3* in the Charleston (North Charleston-Airport-Coliseum) area and increased bidding using free rebids. Still wasn't accepted at $60. Rebid at $70 and won Sheraton Airport, which is an upgraded star rating at 3.5*. Sheraton website lists rooms starting a $128/nite so decent savings :) I used the Betterbidding PRICELINE link to place my order.
  2. Booked two rooms at Intercontinental Buckhead for $90 each. Started bidding at $50 for 4* Buckhead and increased bid by $2 using rebid zones until won at $90. Really happy with both the hotel and price! (Lowest price on the hotel website is $234 per room.) 8) I used the BetterBidding PRICELINE link.
  3. Won the Embassy Suites on my first bid at $50. Lowest price on the hotel website was $127. :)
  4. Booked two rooms on Hotwire for two nights. Amenities listed were same as on the Hotwire list: Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Based on the star rating, amenities, and 3.5 TripAdvisor approval ratings, I was expecting/hoping it would be this hotel. The Hotwire page said it had a 90% hotwire approval rating so expecting a nice stay! Just checked and Westin website is having a promotion and non-refundable rates for those dates are currently $85/nite. Not a huge savings but I'll take what I can get. I used the Betterbidding HOTWIRE link.
  5. Started bidding at $35 and rebid and won at $40. Used the betterbidding link. I was very uneasy about this win after reading the tripadvisor reviews but am happy to report I was pleased with my stay. Maybe I lucked out but my room was not as bad as some of the reviewers'. :) Sorry I forgot to list the hotel name in the title. I'm not sure how to edit the title. Could somebody please help? I won the Courtyard by Marriott Mayo Clinic. The betterbidding hotel list just says Courtyard. Maybe it should be changed to reflect Mayo Clinic because there is also a Courtyard by Marriott Jacksonville Beach Oceanfront, which has much better TA reviews and was what I was initially hoping to get. :)
  6. Bid $55 for a 3.5* and was rejected. Rebid at $60 and was accepted! I had an Entertainment Book coupon that took $10 off/nite so actually paid $50/nite. Lowest available rate through the Holiday Inn website is $159/nite :) Total charges: Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $50.00 Subtotal: $150.00 Taxes & Fees: $34.17 Total Charges: $184.17
  7. Booked for 4 adults. Amenities listed were Airport Shuttle, Restaurant(s), Fitness Center, High-speed Internet Access, Business Center, Laundry Facilities, which is the same as for the Doubletree. Used betterbidding HOTWIRE link to place my order.
  8. we're looking to stay at an airport hotel because we have an early flight. two of us are leaving 7am from jfk and one at 9am from lga. i guess i should go with hotwire then? wouldn't want to risk not being accommodated for three.
  9. I'm looking for a room near JFK for one night 8/9 for three people. I have read in other threads that you would not recommend using priceline for anything over double occupancy in nyc. Would this apply for airport hotels also? What are my chances of being able to get two beds in this area if I book through priceline? I noticed that hotels offered through priceline for jfk seem to have better ta reviews than those offered through hotwire (e.g. courtyard by marriot, crowne plaza...). I have a budget of up to $150 including taxes. Thanks!
  10. Booked this two weeks ago on HOTWIRE using the betterbidding link for our first trip to NY. Had also been considering a 3* MTC (which according to the amenity list corresponded with Holiday Inn Express) on Hotwire for about the same price. The Sheraton Four Points in Times Square has a grand opening special on their hotel website for about the same price as well. Despite the relatively poor reviews on TA for the Sheraton Manhattan, I went with it anyway considering the negative reviews for this property were mostly from people used to 4-5* hotels and the positive reviews for Holiday Inn Express were mostly from people used to 2-3* hotels. Also figured a larger hotel might be better for getting the big city feel. :) Amenities listed were Smokefree, Fitness, Restaurant, Business Center, Internet TA rating of 3/5* based on 500+ reviews Hotwire said I only saved 18% compared to other travel sites...but still happy with the property and price! The forum has been a great help. Thanks! And I did use the HOTWIRE link on this site. :)
  11. Actually used a $50 priceline coupon so actual price was $40/night + fees/tax. Starting bid won. I was going to start lower but the site said that it would have a low chance of being accepted. Sorry, didn't use the PRICELINE link because I had to use another one to get the $50 coupon (through email). Will use next time though. FYI, this hotel is not currently on the hotel list. Anyone know about safety in this part of Phillie? It is Memorial Day Weekend so hoping it will be busy even at night.
  12. Started bidding at $50 and went up in $5 increments using rebid zones until $70 was accepted. Intercontinental website shows $179 as lowest price. Very good deal for a great hotel. Called to request two double beds. They honor requests but have no guarantee...hoping for the best since we have a party of 3.
  13. Thanks for this site! Such a great service. Just FYI, I believe the Hawthorne Suites Schaumburg North, which is listed on the Hotwire Hotel List, has closed. It is now a Hyatt Summerfield Suites.
  14. Booked on Hotwire, 3* Schaumburg $43/night 11/27/08-11/30/08 is Holiday Inn Express Schaumburg/Hoffman Estates Amenities listed: fitness, pool, restaurant I checked the hotel website and the hotel actually also has complimentary breakfast, laundry, among other things.
