  1. $85 might be a little low to win, but a good start (considering you have weekend days), but getting the Venetian / Palazzo is highly likely. The only other 5 star is the Wynn, and that tends to be higher. They are all amazing properties. I'd bid up in $5 increments adding the non-5 star areas like "Las Vegas Speedway" to increase your chances.

For your dates, I see Vdara at CityCenter on Hotwire for $107 (5 star south strip, no smoking)

Venetian or Palazzo is $126 on Hotwire (5 star north strip, with suite icon)

If you want to keep that in mind for your bidding price. Or those are great deals! :)

  2. Never won Paris on Priceline before haha. Has anyone? It's not on the list. I'm excited! Good deal, no resort fees. Everything was so expensive that weekend.

I had put in 4* North & South strip for $91, they said no, but if you add $22, so I added "speedway" which has no 4*, and made it $100 and they accepted.

    I used the links :)

Looks like the hotel is sold out that weekend, (as is almost everything on the strip) so thats even stranger that it came up. I looked to see what other places are selling the rooms for.

  3. Can't beat the rooms at THEhotel though! I'd be perfectly happy with any of the 5 star properties in Las Vegas to be honest. All fantastic properties. I'd actually be excited to win Aria, I'd love to check it out because it's the new guy in town. There are more hotels, and far far far more rooms in North strip so you are more likely to get a deal.

Everytime I've stayed at THEhotel I actually bought it through them, they run some pretty good deals. Sign up for their e-mails.

  4. Well if you read the pop out when you click on that area:

Treat yourself to a luxurious, sophisticated hotel resort oasis - towering high above the Las Vegas Strip on the north end, and steps away from the city's best shopping, shows, casinos and the Las Vegas Convention Center. Luxurious suite accommodations feature non-smoking, contemporary high end furnishings, floor to ceiling windows with spectacular panoramic views of the city, state-of-the-art full Euro kitchens, HDTV, Internet and upgraded bedding with fine Italian linens. Hotel offers signature dining, a transcendent full-service spa, state-of-the-art fitness center and an urbane cabana-lined pool experience. High style & sophistication to the heart of Las Vegas. The hotel is also pet friendly.

Sounds like it's only the Trump. Maybe 2 different classes of rooms? Or to just give you a "Congrats! You were upgraded to a 5 star!" message

  5. Thanks! Actually I was going to rent a car (because I'm turning 25 that day and strictly because I can haha), I see on the website either 14 or 19 a day, thats not too bad regardless (considering the deal I got on a room)

Any driving tips? I'm an aggressive Los Angeles driver i'm sure I can handle anything, but sometimes downtown driving can be a bit tricky. I have never been to this area before really. (only a very short trip to VA Beach a couple years ago)

  6. South Point and M are NOT South Strip. They are "Near strip south" and the M is like 10 miles off the strip! South Strip is like MGM, Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur...

The Westin is awesome! I dunno why everyone hates it LOL. But yea, at this time the only known 5 star south strip is THE Hotel. But, you are bidding on a weekend, I really doubt you can get it that low. Maybe if you go up to $150.

  7. It shouldn't be an issue. All the Vegas hotels are so large. Thousands and thousands of rooms. I got a room at the Paris off Hotwire in August, and I called to confirm and they told me they didn't even need to write it down, just ask at check-in. All though. I would still not bring all 4 of you to the check in counter because some hotels charge extra for 4 people.

My only concern would be with possibly like the Venetian where they charge MORE for the room with 2 beds. It's a different price rate. But if you aren't bidding 5 star shouldn't be an issue. I've stayed at almost every hotel on the strip and never had an issue with room selection.

  8. I've never had an occupancy issue. I just go check in with maybe one person, and everyone else is somewhere else. There is usually a million people inline anyways and they wouldn't be standing with you. Also I guess out of courtesy we tried to put stuff away in the suitcases/closets so it wasn't apparent we had 5 people staying there LOL. But nobody questioned it. I'm young, so I've done it a bunch of times.

RAIN at the Palms is a great club (in fact all theirs are great), if you are going on a Saturday check out Perfecto. It's not top 40, it's more dance/house but it's just a realllly cool club. They have amazing guest DJ's (like top in the world DJs spinning each week, if not Paul Oakenfold, he's the resident DJ). Fire, and dancers and all that fun stuff. Also it's really big so I didn't feel as packed. I went to a few others like Tao and it was SO full I couldn't move, it was no fun. You MUST be 21 to do clubs, drinking, gambling. They will card you, you will get kicked out so don't try it. This ain't no pansy security either. It's serious business.

You need to be 21 to check in, the guests do not, but remember they can't be in the casino (you can only walk through) they can't watch you gamble, they can't go in the bars or the clubs. I went plenty of times under 21 and had a great time. But remember a lot of Vegas is about getting wasted and gambling.

Best hotels for young people Planet Hollywood is my fav (they have a lot to do for the under 21 crowd) and Mandalay Bay, if you are on a budget Excalibur and Luxor are more than adequate. Just don't go anything under 3 star on the South Strip or 3.5 star on the North Strip. (Where as excalibur and luxor are do able, circus circus and stratosphere are not nice!)

haha wow just noticed it's today :) but maybe this advice will help someone else!

  9. I totally forgot to post this. As I went on my trip already. I had a lot of trouble bidding, and had to re-bid several times, and zones, and change my dates by a week to finally get accepted. I believe I started at $65, and added North Everett.

FYI, this hotel has the smallest rooms I've ever been in, in my life. It was a nice place, but man if you aren't traveling solo pray you don't get this hotel. No counter space, the shower isn't in the bathroom.. Very strange. But the location is amazing.

BUT. I saved a ton. I heard someone checking out and for 3 nights, they had paid almost $600! Priceline is the ONLY way to go in Downtown Seattle. Every 3 star and up hotel I've stayed in has been an amazing value and I saved at least 40%.

  10. Yea open a new browser and check which areas don't have 4 stars and you can add them as well.

I bid on a trip somewhere else a few weeks ago, it took me MANY tries, and changing dates around to get a price I wanted. PRICELINE may not always be the cheapest, especially in Vegas, due to the economy, some of the e-mails from the various hotels I've been getting this week are FAR less than I've seen anywhere. IE. Luxor and Monte Carlo for $43 a night, I doubt you could even bid that cheap!

  11. Any ideas? I can't figure what that would be. I searched dates

    9/27-9/29

    Resort

    Suite

    Casino

    Fitness Center

    Pool(s)

    Restaurant(s)

    Business Center

    High-speed Internet Access

    Golf Nearby

    Tennis Nearby

    Spa Services

Frankly i'm just curious :) maybe the new Planet Hollywood timeshare things? but that isn't really south strip.... THEhotel downgraded? Signature?
