  1. My favorite hotel in downtown San Diego. The staff is truly awsome and really go out of there way to accomadate. ** SIGN-UP for the OMNI hotel membership and get lots of perks and FREE INTERNET!!!*** I travel a lot with the military and rarely have time to relax. The front desk staff always went out of their way to get me a corner room with a large flat screen TV so I could kick back and relax. Love the location and the staff. Rooms are perfect, and the sevice is impeccable. If you like Thai food, I highly recommend "Royal Thai" just a block or two to the North. The lobby staff also will provide complimentary bottled water if asked. -AL
  2. Tried unsuccessfully to bid on a 4* for $50 and then $56 in Orange County (Disneyland-Anaheim) area. I then tried 3.5* and won on the first try at $45 for the same area. Taxes and fees were an additional $12.85. The hotel I won was the Crowne Plaza Resort Anaheim. Expedia shows a rate of $102 per night plus $25 in tax and fees for a total of $127 per night. That means Priceline helped me save over 56%! I used the PRICELINE link at the top of the Better Bidding home page to work this deal. On a side note, using the HOTWIRE link at the top of the home page I found the best they could offer was a 3.5* for $57 and a 3* for $39. Gotta love Priceline and naming your own price! -AL
  3. Started at $60 dollars for 2 rooms in a 4 star in Disneyland Anaheim area 27-31 OCT 2010. Took several tries by including other non-4 star areas. Eventually won at $77 a night. Travelocity shows $119 a night average rate for our stay. Expedia showed no availability. -AL
  4. I bid for a 4 star hotel at LAX after losing a 4* bid twice for Hollywood ($120 and $130 10/19-10/20). I was successful on the first bid thanks to this board and checking hotwire prices. My bid of $80 per room for two rooms at a 4 star hotel at LAX for 10/19 -10/20 was accepted and I was booked at the Westin at LAX. Total taxes and fees were $31 for a grand total of $191. The Westin was great! Clean, very spacious, and the staff was awsome! We were travelling with three children under three and they really took care of us. The only downside was the extra charge for parking. I believe it was $18 self park, or $28 for valet. Overall great experience and would do it again in a heartbeat! -T.
