Successful at $130 on the 7th bid. $130.00 Bid price 23.03 Taxes & Fees $153.03 Total Charges Still happy. Again used BetterBidding.com link.
  7. Pre cruise, one night. Have been trying for over a month, 7 bids (using free re-bid zones) at 4*, going up by $5 increments for each bid. Highest earlier bid was $125, tonight began at $100 and was successful at 7th bid: $130. Bid: $130.00 Taxes & Fees: 23.03 Total Charges: $153.03 Given that this is Good Friday (Easter weekend), I am happy with result. Used PRICELINE link on BetterBidding.com
  8. Zone 3 was my first choice for a 3* bid, as it was my best chance for a very low rate near where I wanted to be. My next bid at 3* would have been $45 with the downtown zone (another Marriott Courtyard) added. But I would not have tried 3* in any other zones. So all worked out very nicely.
  9. $40 first bid at 3* level accepted. 8 tries at 3.5* from $36 through $60 in Milwaukee Downtown all unsuccessful. All bids through BetterBidding PRICELINE link.
  10. Here are the icons: 3.5-star hotel in Central Anchorage Fitness Center, Restaurant, Business Center, High Speed Internet, Tennis Nearby And the offered rate has droped to $71. Oh my :) Oh well..... :) There's a bargain for someone, and, after all, we'll be on a cruise :o .
  11. Booked through Betterbidding HOTWIRE link. Had been trying for several days w/Priceline for a 3* or better, and got up to $101 rejected. High season, and I was getting stressed. So I ended up just grabbing this on Hotwire, price is very decent, I am no longer stressed about it, and we're happy. Total amt. with taxes & fees: $163.93 One night pre-cruise.
  12. Used Better Bidding PRICELINE link. Needed only one bid, amount based on recent wins posted here. Seattle Airport zone, 3*, $40, one night (8/21).
  13. Bidding for 2.5* for two nights. Began with Orlando East (Zone 6) at $40, up to $55 w/ 2 free rebid zones, no success. Then tried Zone 5, Airport, same sequence as above, $45 (2nd bid) won 3* Courtyard. :)

  15. Not right now. This morning I am going to try PRICELINE for that date, through this site. I'll report back on the Priceline threads.
  16. Thanks Theruare -- when I went back and looked I saw I goofed on the dates when I saw the original Hotwire listing. I will be in San Juan for one night, 4/11/09, and that hotel does not appear for that date.
  17. Please help identify a 2.5* San Juan hotel listed on Hotwire, w/amenities: Near Beach, Smoke Free Rooms, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center. Thanks in advance.
  18. Bid for 3 rooms, 2 nights (1/10 & 1/11), 3.5*, areas Central Park South, Midtown West, Times Square. Prepared to go up to $155 per room per night using free zones, irregular price increments. First bid was $130, and was accepted for Hudson Hotel, 58th St. in Central Park South. Maybe should have started lower, but I'm happy. Bid placed on 10/19/2008.
