Sorry for the late reply, I only now saw this message. I am not sure I can see the exact path you have there, I am on a page that says:
Your reservation is confirmed!
Just booked the Galt House for a night to go on a chick's MTB weekend, just what I wanted and happy with the price.

Hi everyone,
I am looking for a deal in Chicago for November 4th to 8th. I'll be at a conference in the Sheraton but even the conference price of $234 for a single room is a little steep.
I know it is way early, but I thought it won't hurt to start checking...who knows, I may get lucky :-)
I found the following deals right now through the Bidding.Helper:
3* Magnificent Mile Area - River North -- $115
FULL AMENITIES: Free Parking, Free Internet, Indoor pool(s), Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Self service laundry
3.5* Downtown - Millennium Park - Grant Park -- $143
FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Self service laundry, Internet access, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower
What do you think?
Susanne
So sorry - I was sitting here looking through the forum for the Swissotel and saw that most paid a lot more than $96 a night and after losing the sweet suite deal (ha, how'd I do that) I just did it. I am usually good at clicking your links.
Have you considered making a sticky topic with all available links in the individual forums? Or is there one and am I missing that?
Anyway, I paid $229.53 for the two nights incl. taxes at the Swissotel - and I got a $100 gift card for Restaurant.com for free. Never used Restaurant.com...not sure if any of the restaurants listed there are open for Thanksgiving dinner.
Maybe that would be a question for Aaron :-)
Again, my apologies for pulling the trigger without being able to give you a 'click' - I have only heard of Bookit on here, so you did deserve it.
Not sure if the topic should be renamed? I leave that to you, ok?
Thanks Aaron - these have come and gone and while I was indecisive, I missed out on a killer deal - Executive King Suite at the Hyatt on Mag Mile for $99. Took to long to debate it with the boyfriend and when I tried to pull the trigger, the deal was gone.
Now I have another one, clicked through BiddingHelper.com (great job on that page btw)
11/28-11/30 (Thanksgiving/Black Friday)
Magnificent Mile Area - River North area $95

On the other hand, Bookit.com has the Swissotel for $96 as the "Deal of the Day"
Can you ID the Mag Mile RN for me? And how would it compare to the Swissotel?
Thanks
Susanne
In addition, Prioceline has a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal...
4 Star Hotel in North Michigan Ave - River North Area for $94/night
Free Internet in public areas
Indoor Swimming Pool
Pets Allowed
Restaurant
Business Center
Fitness Center
Same dates:
Check In: Thu Nov 28, 2013
Check Out: Sat Nov 30, 2013
My travel dates are 11/28-30, and I would like to be close to the river and stay under $100 a night.
Using Biddinghelper.com, I am finding the following hotels for my search. Can you help me ID them? I can find some info but often they seem to now be lacking "Smoke free", probably because that's a given these days.
Thanks!

Hi Aaron!
Used the HOTWIRE link of course but couldn't wait. So we booked and got the Sax for$83...not complaining. I was hoping for the Palomar, but the Sax looks like it is just as nice, what do you say, being the Chicago specialist?
So, the answer would have been 2 people BTW :-)
Can you change my subject to reflect my win or would you prefer me to start a new topic?

Hi all,
I am looking at a hotel in Chicago for the weekend of July 13-15. Clicked the HOTWIRE link and right now, rates seems fairly pricey, but this looks OK:
4* Chicago Loop - Theater District area hotel
Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access

$155.00
Can someone help identify this?
Thanks!
Susanne
Hi Aaron, the man I can always count on for Chicago :-)
I JUST booked it a few minutes ago and you are right, it is the Felix.
I would have loved the Palomar, but for $71 I take the Felix. I will try and get into Sable again though, we had a great time at the Palomar restaurant/bar - wonderful food and absolutely amazing cocktails!
The W would have been nice too, but I am really happy we can get out there for $170 total - every penny counts for my Black Friday Shopping Spree on State and Michigan!
Can you change the topic and show it as a win for the Felix for $71?
Thanks!
Susanne
PS: How can I change my avatar? I don't even know how that got there
We are looking to escape the family for Thanksgiving, and the prices are amazing.
We are currently looking at this for $71:
Boutique Hotel
Smoke Free Rooms
Fitness Center
Restaurant(s)
Business Center
High-Speed Internet Access

What's your guess? From looking through the other posts, my guess would be Felix, Sax or Palomar.
What do the experts think?
Just an update - we did go to the Palomar and I would highly recommend it to anyone. The location is wonderful, probably the best out of all the places we stayed at in Chicago (The Drake, Hard Rock Hotel, Palmer House). The Drake is too far north, the Palmer too far south. The Hard Rock is also OK and does have a view of the river, but this is just the "walking distance paradise".
Thanks for the recommendation Aaron, I will gladly go back to the Palomar any day!
Well, I believe we are firm right now...I was firm when I initially posted this but if you travel in a group, there may always be someone who needs to make some arrangements.
I apologize for causing extra work, didn't mean to!
In the mean time, I managed to find a deal for the Hotel Palomar for $99 and I am pretty sure we'll move forward on this!
Hi Aaron!
Sorry for the late reply, we are planning this trip with another couple who need to find a willing babysitter for 3 (!!) kids first :-)
So, I checked again, and the Palomar is still available and it looks like a great option, especially considering it has free Wifi from what I understand and woohoo, wine reception to "pre-load", LOL.
The Westin/Hard Rock/Hyatt option on Hotwire has been replaced by a new option. Now we have a:
Streeterville
4* for $109, Hotwire recommended 80%
Amenities: Boutique, Smoke Free, Fitness, Restaurant, Business Center, High Speed Internet
Loop
4* for $106, Hotwire recommended 85%
Boutique, Fitness, Restaurant, Business Center, High Speed Internet
Any ideas? Would you still consider the Palomar the better option?
Do you think the Westin/Hard Rock/Hyatt option would come back? If you had to guess? I mean, we are still over a month out!
Somehow, I liked the location of those, I like to be by the river because that has easy access to the Loop and the Streeterville area.
Plus a view of the river would be absolutely awesome since it is the green river weekend :-)
Thanks for your help
Susanne
Good morning!!
I am planning a trip to Chicago - and as usual, I am counting on you guys and gals.
I am looking at 2 different hotels and would generally like the Streeterville location. The two choices are:
3* Magnificent Mile Area - Streeterville area Hotel
$76 - 85% recommended
Fitness, Business Center, High Speed Internet
4* Magnificent Mile Area - Streeterville area Hotel
$106 - 90% recommended
Bed Choice, Fitness, Restaurant, Business Center, High Speed Internet
Or should I wait a little longer?
Thanks a lot!
Susanne
Hi all, I just book us a little Thanksgiving Getaway since the rest of the family is otherwise committed!
The amenities listed were:
Fitness Center
Pool(s)
Restaurant(s)
Business Center
High-speed Internet Access
Our other option was the Hyatt for $89.
If you had the choice, would you book Hyatt or Hilton in Chicago?
And I certainly booked through the site's HOTWIRE link because as usual, you are making this process just perfect!
I just booked The MET Hotel in Troy, Michigan for
Check-in:Wed, Feb 24, 2010
Check-out:Thu, Feb 25, 2010
It was listed as 3* with the amenities:
Fitness Center
Pool(s)
Restaurant(s)
Business Center
Laundry Facilities
High-speed Internet Access
Golf Nearby
I paid $46 - it was listed as $44 with a random bed I guess and on the next page you could select if you want a King for $45 or two Double for $46
It was the hotel I expected to get after reading this Hotwire Detroit thread.
Of course, I made sure to use the HOTWIRE link!
Thanks a lot for again helping me to get a good deal!
Well, you really can't go too wrong with a 3.5* hotel at $54, right? So, I just booked it (and yes, I used the HOTWIRE link) and we got the Crowne Plaza Cleveland City Centre Hotel
If anyone can edit the subject of my post to reflect my win, I'd appreciate it!
Thanks for a great site!
Susanne Aldridge
I am looking into celebrating my 40th birthday (gulp) with a friend in Cleveland. I am looking at a 3.5* hotel with Fitness, Restaurant, Business center, Hi-Speed internet from 8/27 to 8/30 for $54!
WHile you can hardly go wrong at that price tag, it would be nice to see what this could be. 3* hotels are available starting at $49 and I don't have a problem with that either.
The 3* hotel has Fitness, Restaurant, Business center, Hi-Speed internet and Golf neearby!
If anyone cares to venture a guess, I'm all ears/eyes!
Thanks a loit
Susanne
PS: I have a bad track record for forgetting to book through this site but I promise to cut my pinky finger off if I pull the trigger from the wrong link again :-)
Well, maybe not but I promise to use the right link !
