  1. Full sized through Avis for the trip in September. Your Offer Price: $17.00 Total Rental Days: 5 Subtotal: $85.00 Taxes & Fees: $36.43 Total Charges: $121.43 I'll go for a premium upgrade at the counter. Gotta love that satellite radio!
  2. The Venetian at $100 a night is a GREAT score. Remember that this is an all-suite hotel. Enjoy!
  3. These rankings I did were based on the hotels on the original thread. I threw Mandalay Bay in there as well and would put it on top of the others, although the South Strip location is not like by some. If you are wandering around the strip then Paris would be the choice.
  4. I would rate these hotels as follows: 1. Paris 2. Monte Carlo 3. T.I. 4. MGM Grand Paris is the newest and most centrally located. Monte Carlo is very understated but nice. T.I. is ok but getting a bit tired, and MGM is too big and spread out to enjoy. But having just returned from Vegas I would put Mandalay Bay at the top of this list. The location may be looked at as bad by some but with all the pools open in the spring it is the type of place where you don't need to leave for a couple days anyway. The standard room we had on the 31st floor was breathtaking, huge bathroom, soaker tub and glass shower. Very impressive place, and blows the Mirage (our old favourite) out of the water.
  5. Thanks thereuare, I started off at $41 as I was happy with that amount and had tried a different zone (I think Torrance) at $48 and was rejected. Any money that I saved on this or through Vegas winnings will be long gone when my wife and daughter hit the malls in LA on Dec. 26! Ouch!!!
  6. Very happy with this win! for our 1 day getaway from Las Vegas on our upcoming Christmas trip. Your Offer Price: $41.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $41.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $13.01 Total Charges: $54.01 Best rate on Hotel website was $109 plus taxes.
  7. Jake, we are going to Las Vegas for Christmas as well> We are driving up to the Valley of Fire state park. It is absolutley stunning, and then we may go on up to Zion National Park in Utah. Take advantage of the rental car and see the region. It may be the biggest mistake imho that travellers make when they go to Vegas but never leave the strip. Of course if you're just there to gamble thats a different story. Scott.
  8. LOL thereuare! and you can change this topic name to Las Full Size $19/day!
  9. Thanks for the updates guys, I called Priceline and got the rate guarantee (again) with a refund of $15.50. Hey every little bit helps, especially on a trip to Vegas! Total cost now is $208.
  10. Bid on a full sized car for our Christmas trip to Las Vegas. Got $21 on first bid so I was pleased with that rate. Total for 7 days with taxes and fees= $223.57 vs. Alamo's site at $280.19. We've used Alamo in Vegas before, nice system where you walk out to the full sized rows of cars, and pick what you like. Keys are in trunk so it makes it easy.
  11. I just heard back from Priceline. They have refunded me $54.87 to match the Boardwalks website. They originally charged me $152.97 vs. $98.10 so thats a decent refund.
  12. Not too crazy about this place but whatever. Was hoping for a 4* upgrade but this looks to be a new one for Priceline. Started bidding at $29 rejected. Re-bid at $35 and rejected. Took the bait and upped it $9 and got this. I've sent an e-mail to Priceline as my 3 night total with taxes and charges is $152.96 vs. $98 on Boardwalk web site. I'll let you know how i make out.
  13. Need 1 night at YYZ airport w/free parking for 5 day trip. Priceline no longer shows 4* which would be Bristol Place and only 4* which I know offers free parking. Any suggestions on bids? Thanks! Scott.
  14. I just received and e-mail from Priceline confirming that our hotel payment that was booked for Sat. Sept 4 in Hallandale Beach (Miami North) and didn't show up for due to the hurricane has been credited back to our account. Good work on Priceline because we were on a crise ship and I was unable to contact them to cancel ahead of time even though this was an evacuation zone. When we got off the ship on Monday and I called them the rep. said no refunds because I didnt call first. I calmly explained the circumstances of being on the ship and this being an evacuation zone and asked to speak to a manager. I pleaded my case to her and she said no guarantees but due to the circumstances she would try her best for us. Lesson learned, don't take no for an answer from someone who doesn't have the authority to say yes! (yeah I read that line somewhere but it's so true) Scott. P.S. I went to the Hampton Inn on the Monday to try and get a room and they were of no use whatsoever. I'm composing a letter to their corporate office to let them know about their customer service.
  15. thereuare, yes this is in the beach zone and right across the street from the beach. we were on the caribbean princess that was due back to fort lauderdale on saturday morning. on wednesday it was announced that we could not get into port until sunday and then the following day we were told that it would be monday morning. so we did get 2 extra days on the ship at no charge. we stayed overnight in cozumel so that was a bonus and the trip back from cozumel was done at 7 knots instead of 21 to kill time. princess was great, the satellite phones were free (normally $5 minute) so we could change flights. internet access was also free and there were big lines during the day for computers so I would go down around 6 am. they put on extra shows and there was a great mood around the ship. I think some people were upset but really what other choice was there? The food held up with the only thing noticed was no oj and very little breakfast on the monday morning in port but we were getting off the ship anyway. the dining room stayed on schedule, on this ship you could do traditional or anytime dining so there was no change there for us. The cruise that was scheduled to leave at 5 sat. afternoon didnt leave until 10 pm. on monday night. Princess was begging people to stay on at some great rates because there were so many cancellations. I have heard that this 5 day sailing is only two-thirds full if that. We couldnt stay as the kids had to start school on tuesday, which they missed as our airtran flight didnt leave until tues morning. The seas were perfect the entire trip until sunday afternoon there was a bit of motion as we neared florida from the cuban coast but really very little. I waited until we were off the ship to go to an internet cafe on 17th st. in fll and thats where i scored the hotel for the night. Scott.
  16. We got this hotel on Labor Day Monday sept.6 for 1 night. This was last minute as we were kept on our cruise for 2 extra days so needed a place until our flight left on tuesday. Started bidding $50 for downtown and rejected. Upped to $55 and added free zone and rejected. Hit at $60 when I added beach zone. Decent hotel with great beach location. However nowhere near the quality of hotel that our pre-cruise Marriott Marina was at the same price. BTW, still working with priceline on a refund on our post cruise hotel which we couldnt get to because of being on the ship and Fort Lauderale being evacuated.
  17. By all means ignore those screens, all they do is try and get a higher bid from you. And if you have lots of time, there is nothing to lose by starting low and going up in small increments. Good Luck!
  18. Your Offer Price: $25.00 Total Rental Days: 1 Subtotal: $25.00 Taxes & Fees: $10.84 Total Charges: $35.84 Avis Premium w/XM Satellite Radio. Avis website shows $95plus taxes :)
  19. thanks thereuare, it looks like a nice post cruise hotel. And nice work getting it on the Hollywood zone so quick!
  20. Just bid on a 1 night post-cruise stay labor day weekend Sat. Sept 4 Started bid for 2.5* Fort Lauderdale downtown at $40 rejected. Added beach area at $45 and rejected. Added Hollywood which previously shows Westin Diplomat resort and bid $50 and received: Hampton Inn Miami North/Aventura Fl 1000 South Federal Hwy Hallandale Beach, FL 33009 Offer Price: $50 Taxes and Fees: $12.27 Total Charges: $62.27 Has this hotel showed up before? Doesnt seem like too many deals over this weekend to be had.
  21. Started Fort Lauderdale downtown 3* at $49 rejected. Added Miramar as free re-bid at $55 rejected! (was hoping for embassy suites) Added Pompano Beach as free re-bid at $60 accepted. Marriott Ft. Lauderdale Hotel and Marina Check In Date: Aug. 26/04 Check Out Date: Aug 28/04 Your Offer Price: $60 x 2 nights Taxes and Fees: $21.47 Total: $141.47 Thanks for this site thereuare, Scott.
  22. thereuare, thanks for the quick reply. I see that the Marriott Marina is also a 3* but I havent seen it come up much on this board. I'll let you know the results. Scott.
  23. Trying to get Embassy Suites in Fort Lauderdale for 2 night pre-cruise in August. My question is: there are four of us going (me and wifey and 2 kids) so does this still allow us the "cooked to order breakfast" in the morning and the "managers reception" (2 hrs. of free drinks!!) at night? Thanks in advance to those in the know. And it seems like $55 per night is the going rate, if so I'm all over it. This board is the best! Scott.
  24. Bid on Priceline for FLL: Bid: $25 Taxes and Fees: $10.84 Total: $35.84 Premium sedan from Avis (Buick Lesabre with XM satellite radio) Avis' website: $95 per day plus taxes. Thanks thereuare, great site here, now I'm going to look for a two night pre-cruise hotel stay! Scott.
